Hewes Family Movers

Everything including scheduling was great. The scheduler called the day before and then the movers called to let me know where they were at the day of. The "B-Team" was great. There was a constant flow to the move that I really liked and the cost of the move was reasonable.

The two young men were right on time and they were totally prepared for anything. The assessed the move out situation in 5 minutes and went to work so fast I could hardly believe it. They got all of my things out of my old condo in less than 2 hours and into my new condo in 90 minutes. Not one thing was broken or scratched. They were polite, dressed appropriately and behaved as professionals.

Prompt, Courteous and Professional movers. If I ever move again, they would be the first call I make.

I contacted them for a moving quote, they never responded.

After checking out reviews on movers through Angie's List, I narrowed my choices down to four companies, all of whom I called to schedule estimates. So my first point of contact with Hewes Family Movers was the owner, Bill Hewes. He was very friendly and professional and answered all of my initial questions then set up a time for Preston to come out and give us and estimate. Preston showed up on time and was also very friendly and professional. He gave us lots of hints and tips to help with our move. I was doing my own packing, so his input was very helpful to me! After speaking with all four companies and getting an estimate from each (one actually said they would not send a rep out to estimate, they would do it over the phone! If that wasn't enough to turn me off, their estimate was three times what Hewes was, so they were definitely out from the start), it was clear that Hewes was our best all around choice, plus they came in at the lowest cost. And we were NOT disappointed! On our move day, our incredible crew of movers - David, Matt, Thomas and Eric - showed up on time with two trucks and got right to work. They were friendly, polite, efficient and very careful with our belongings. When they loaded the last item onto the truck, there was not one mar, ding or scratch on a wall or floor - a first for me. I've moved many times and never had such a great experience or had such a wonderful crew of movers! The offload into our new home went just as efficiently and beautifully! These guys really know their stuff! Once again, they showed up on time and got right to work. They were very polite and patient with me on several occasions as I pondered where to put certain pieces of (heavy) furniture. In the end, not one item of mine was broken, chipped or marred in any way. (Again, a very pleasant first for me!) I cannot recommend this company highly enough! I have never had such a wonderful moving experience from start to finish. Even one of my new neighbors came over after the crew left, introduced himself and commented that he had never seen such an efficient and friendly crew of movers. If you have a move coming up, definitely give Bill Hewes a call. You will be so happy you did!

Hewes Family Movers were fantastic! From my initial meeting with Preston to look at our contents to the Packing, Loading and Delivery, I couldn't have asked for a better Mover. I had tried to search online prior to finding the Hewes Family and received numerous calls from Movers quoting me over the phone! I just could not understand how they could price it correctly. I was in quite a quandary as we got closer to the closing of our Condo in Indiana. I had a brainstorm in the middle of the night to check Angie's List & sure enough, Hewes was ranked very high with a lot of reviews I could read. I couldn't have been more pleased & I will use them again & would highly recommend them for any type of move! BBair Conyers, GA

They had severely under estimated the work I needed done. I was quoted a certain price and then when I went to pay, the price had doubled. He also said it would only take 4 hours to move and it actually took 10 hours. I spoke with the owner on the issue, and he ended giving a slight refund however, the check had bounced. However, on a good note, a piece of my furniture was damaged, and they took it and had it repaired and I can not tell it was ever damaged.

They were punctual. They were professional. They were courteous. They were personable. They were just awesome basically.

Everything went really well. No problems. Move handled efficiently. Nothing damaged, broken or lost. Personnel very easy to work with.

The best move I've ever been associated with. I scheduled the move for Jan 28th, and Bill Hewes the owner called me the night before to suggest we get an earlier start because the snow was going to start at noon on the 28th. Two men arrived promptly at 9 am (Bill's son and son-in-law) with their truck. They loaded it, drove the four miles, placed the furniture at the new location and finished at 11 am on the dot. It started snowing at noon and of course we all know what happened in Atlanta that day. The cost was half of what they estimated and nothing was damaged - no glitches whatsoever. Moving is always tough but this was a great experience !

They did just the move for us. I liked everything about them. They were awesome. They were friendly, self sufficient, honest and amazing. It was the best move I have ever had!

A representative came to our house to provide an estimate to move our furnishings in our 6 bedroom house 10 miles. He was very nice and detailed. But the estimate he gave us was extremely high at approximately $10,000. Needless to say, we did not use this company's services. We received another estimate from major moving company for $4,500, which ultimately ended up costing us $3,300.

Our family moved 14 times and Bill Hewes and his team are far and away the best movers we EVER worked with. His crew showed up on time, listened to what we wanted, took care of our belongings and catered to our every need. I have never worked with a company as focused on fulfilling the customers needs as Bill's. I've recommended his firm to those folks who have purchased the household items we were selling and would recommend him to anyone who needs to move locally or across country.

A move can be stressful. But mine wasn't. ... and the credit for that goes to Bill Hewes and his crew of men. I needed to have furniture moved from one location to another. I contacted Bill Hewes after reading the exceptional comments made by other members on Angie's List. Bill was extremely cordial, professional and fair. The band of men he sent were Matt, Colby and Thomas. They were more than impressive. This group of young men were absolutely great; respectful, careful, trustworthy and they worked quickly. I highly recommend and will most definately call them again when I have anything more I need moved.

I am very pleased with the service from Hewes Family Movers, We had a last minute adjustment in our move-in plans, and they were very accommodating. All furniture and items were moved carefully with no damage and nothing broken. Movers were very friendly and professional, and services were done on time.

Bill and his company were AWESOME. I was looking to save money by moving all the little stuff myself, and having movers move the furniture, from a local move on the south side. I contacted several companies for estimates. Some would only deal by phone, others were vague or late in responding, but Bill responded by email very quickly with specifics about pricing and his satisfaction guarantee. We scheduled a date, and then I had to move it. And then, the night before, I had to move the date AGAIN. I felt like the worst customer ever, but Bill was unfazed and reassured me that they could work around my schedule. On moving day, the crew showed up, made quick work of the move, and were even able to move some of the boxes in addition to furniture because they were so quick. Move-in on the other end was also super fast. I can't recommend them highly enough and I would absolutely use them again. So happy to have found them through Angie's List!

They initially came out and gave us a free estimate for packing and moving. The person who came out was on time and was thorough. Once we selected them they sent 4 packers. They arrived on time and had all the necessary packing materials. They were very polite and patient. The household goods and furniture were going to several different locations so we had to decide on where several of the items had to go that were being packed. They did a very good job of packing and marking everything and at the same time were very quick and efficient despite our indecision on several of the items. They moved us the following day, again they were on time and were very polite and professional. The furniture and boxes were loaded very efficiently and quickly. They had to off load at two different locations which was done efficiently. There was no damage to any of the items. We were very pleased and would recommend them strongly. Their attitude and professionalism made the move much easier than we expected and they were under thier estimate.

Hewe's family movers were GREAT!! I'm from Texas and was coordinating a move for my sister in Georgia. I knew no-one in the area, so used Angie's list to find a mover with good reviews from others so I was not "calling blind". We needed a mover on Christmas eve in order to keep our condo project on schedule (condo was being renovated and we needed furniture moved on this specific day). I had to be back in Texas, so I needed someone that would do a great job without me having to be there to look over their shoulder. Hewe's family movers filled the bill. They showed up on time, were very friendly and accommodating and charged a fair and reasonable price. That's all I could ask for. My sister was VERY pleased with the movers and said they were very good to work with. She said they were patient and accommodating with her if she wanted them to "rearrange" something after it was in. I gave a "C" for responsiveness for the following reason. I contacted Bill Hewe's (the owner) about 4 days prior to the move to set it up. He said they would call me the day before to confirm the move, just to make sure things were still on track as planned. When i didn't hear from him, I called his office around 3pm the day before. Got an answering machine, and left a message. No return call by 6pm, so I called Bill's cell phone. His voice mail was full and could not accept anymore messages. I got a little panicked, not knowing if we were still on schedule! Our timing was critical, so I attempted a text message to the cell number to see if it got through. It did and Bill called be back within 15 minutes. When he did call, I had to give the moving information to Bill again. I really wasn't sure if this was because we were not on the schedule or if it was just because Bill was not in the office with the information needed for next day??? At any rate, we confirmed the move and it ended up going VERY WELL!! I read on one review that Bill is hard to get ahold of. I feel there may be some validity to this, but I'd encourage users to work around this as Bill and his team did a fantastic job. We'd definitely use them again.

Bill Hewes was very helpful. He loaned out moving blankets that we used in covering items in both the storage containers and storage locker. The two sets of movers were always on time, courteous and careful. We only had minor scuffing and dings to our walls.

I'm shaking my head, wondering how there are so many A ratings for this company. They must be getting their friends at a bunch of different IP addresses to write the reviews. So be on forwarned. The movers who were supposed to come ended up in a totally different city looking for my house. They went round and round and finally Bill Hewes pulled a crew from a nearby city, and sent them. What a joke. Have you ever seen a mover carry in a shoe rack? A 2-tier, 2 foot wide shoe rack? And nothing else? Then come back and carry in a pillow? I have never, ever seen movers like this. Each of the guys was waiting for the other to do any heavy lifting, and trying to drag out the time to rack up the bill. It took 4 men from a different company out of state 4 hours to load my moving van, and it took 4 men from Bill Hewes' crew SIX HOURS to unload it! The four of them DROPPED my piano. BANG! I had to take control, set each one of them in a spot, told them where to hold on, and how to lift and carry it. I'm a female and I had way better understanding of mechanics than these clowns. One guy munched on sunflower seeds the whole time, and I am STILL finding the ones he spit out in the corners of closets, stairwell, etc. Gross. The four guys assembled my bed. They acted silly and cut up, and it took them a while to assemble. I have assembled it myself in the past with just the help of phone books as a prop, and done it in less amount of time alone as it took four so-called "movers." This company is not what you see pictured in their ad. They are not guys in blue polo shirts, nor are they part of the family. They were untrained, unskilled, and lazy. At the end, when I got my bill, it was well over $1200, for 6 drawn out hours. I told them there was no way their work was worth that; it should have and could have been completed in less than the time it took to load the van originally. Bill let me pay what I thought was fair, so I gave them $800. Now, can you get the picture of them carrying in just a shoe rack, or a pillow, to try and make the time go by and rack up the bill? Please consider that all of those other reviews can't possibly be true if this crew came to someone else's house. I'm giving them a D, because they showed up and called me "Ma'am."

They were on-time, polite and handled everything with care.

On time, pointed out any damage to furniture prior to loading, and then when unloading and placed they touched up the spots that they didn't even do. Moved an elliptical like it was nothing.

Professional and friendly crews, Bill Hewes, was very responsive and sensitive to both his crews and our needs. The move was scheduled for the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, but it was forecast for heavy rain and cold temps. Bill called to confirm the move, but said he could move it to Wednesday if that would work for us when the weather was forecast to improve. We were flexible so we rescheduled and it worked out better for us and his crews. They were prompt, friendly and professional. Very careful and willing to do anything necessary. Very pleased. The week before, they moved our two storage units to Canton for a similar price and the crew was just as professional and courteous. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Simply put, I've moved 10 times in the last 10 years. This was simply the best moving service I've had in all of that time. These guys showed up on time, were professional and courteous, and they HUSTLED. They were polite and fast. At one point they dropped one of our boxes in another part of the house by accident. We were on the other side of the house. One of the movers brought us the box and apologized. He asked us to open the box to see what was broken. I've never witnessed such honesty with a move ever. They are the ONLY mover I could ever recommend!!!!!!!
