Hammond Services did a wonderful job. They repaired a leak under my water heater & I am very pleased. They also repaired a Airconditioner issue I had. Had to call and have them come out on a Sunday because the leak was very bad. They arrived when they said they would which was an 1 hour after I called. The fix only took between 5-10 minutes. I am happy with the work but the cost was shocking. I knew there was $150 just to get them to come out but it cost another $106 for a new washer and the labor.

Example: In switching bookkeeping programs not long ago, one payment apparently in transition was lost forever and HVAC warranty extension is now subject to two back payments. Then the plumbing mentioned, at 2900 smackers, and I do not mean kisses. This week GREAT workers on the aforementioned bathrooms. The contract was handwritten, and I scanned it. I had said on the phone yesterday to remember that I had said 'inexpensive spigots' for replacements-two tubs and two sinks. I was not TOO surprised to hear the response, IT IS NOT IN THE CONTRACT. He was right. Two calls in query, and noreturn call! The old faucets work, and by the way, one tub DID get a spigot!. Well-I have a handy man for the rest. Hello, Karl-call me! -Doc on Crescent

I called to get an estimate to replace my old breaker box, I was told he could be there the next day and there would be a $90 charge for an estimate. what!? Well, he never showed up, so I called and was told there must have been a mix up, he would come the next day. The next day, he didn't show, I called and she said she didn't know what the problem was, it was on the schedule. I told her to forget it, just cancel it.... the next day they called and said he would be right out, I said no, I cancelled that yesterday because he hasn't shown up for two appointments and I think it's ridiculous to have to pay $90 for an estimate when most people will do that for free, to get the business!

The houses this company maintained flooded three times, they did return but could not fix the problem.

I purchased a new A/C and furnace unit from Hammond 4 yrs. ago. On Wed. evening (8/5/15), the A.C. unit was not blowing cool air. Since Hammond had installed the new unit 4 yrs ago and my paperwork was showing a 10 yr. manufacturers warranty for the compressor and parts, I called them Thurs. morning to schedule an appt. The technician came out very promptly . He determined the problem was a capacitor that had gone bad. The technician said he did not have a replacement capacitor in his truck for my particular unit. He said he could order the part and it would take 3-4 days to come in. He also said he could put 2 smaller capacitors (essentially rigging it) so the unit would run until the ordered part came in and then he could install the correct part. The other option he gave me was he could go pick up the correct part. He said it would be about a 15 min. round trip to pick up the part, but he would have to charge me a "$45.00 trip fee". He said the total cost would be $269.00 which is $85.00 diagnostic fee, $45.00 trip fee and $139.00 labor. I explained to the technician that a $45.00 trip fee to pick up a part that was local was unreasonable and that I clearly was being overcharged. I also didn't want my A/C unit to be rigged with 2 capacitors and he agreed that was probably not the best route to take. I paid the $85.00 diagnostic fee but I certainly didn't want him to "pick up" or order any parts and I declined any further work on the unit.

Awesome. Someone answered the 800 number immediately and scheduled an appointment for the next day for a non emergency situation. The gas company was upgrading in our area and refused to reignite our hot water heater because it wasn't safe. I called a friend who also happened to be a fire marshall and he too declined to Relight the heater because it was an explosion hazard, he turned off the gas and said I had to get it fixed. Hammond services answered the call first time; gave me a 10 to 12 hour window for the next day; called at 9:15 to say they were 45 minutes away then called at 10:00 to say they were in the driveway (this was appreciated as I have several dogs and this avoided much distress for all parties). The technician had the new drip valve installed; a new line from the unit to the tank installed, the unit relit and gassed up ready to go by 1115. This included a trip to the store to get the proper fitting. This was all done for a first time customer for the amazing price of 125 dollars. I will definitely be using this company in the future. Our heat went out during the night. We called Hammond at 7 am and the provider came in just before 9 am. He was professional and mindful of cost for us. Since the furnace worked but intermittently did not blow hot air, he adjusted circuit board, exchanged batteries in our thermostat and recommended to wait and see instead of exchanging circuit board for which he'd have to charge us $100 dispatch fee during the weekend. If the issue persists, dispatch fee will be waived as they already know our potential issue with circuit board.

I have been with them for at least 8 years. They are honest and do what they say they are going to do. They kept my heat running really well. Very friendly.

They showed up ontime but didn't find the problem. They then came back out a second time (when it happened again) and charged me another service fee. Their electricians do not appear to be very knowledgeable. They DO NOT appear to know what they are doing!!. In the end, it ended up being inside the house. A different electrician (not with Hammond) found the problem and fixed it. In the end I paid Hammond (I believe) a total of 120 dollard and they didn't fix the issue!!
