+ -1 moreAlways good to work with and professional. I went with Lowe's to install a hot water heater and went with Hammond's to fix what Lowe's (Conch Envirmental) messed up. It took a couple visits to fix because they would find an issue and then run into another issue but good to work with. Spend the extra few dollars in the first place and go with a plumber and not Lowe's installation.

+ -1 moreService went very well as the technician was friendly, informative, and professional. I had at least 4 additional jobs lined up for the company to do. We got to the total for the service, and in addition to paying for the diagnostic service with the discount coupon provided at the company's site, I was also charged $45 (the difference in the coupon) just for the technician to have come out...to do the job that I was paying for. Then I was told that for any job they come out on, there would be an additional $45 just for them to come out. Well, how else do you do the job except to come out. Why do they charge to come out to do the job? Can they do it somewhere else? I canceled all future jobs because of this.

+ -1 moreThey are a seven day a week company. They don't recognize what they call emergency calls. If I call and say that my water heater is not working, they are available during the weekend and early in the morning. It is my favorite thing. They are very reasonably priced because once they correct the problem, then they ask if the customer is interested in the maintenance. The maintenance is a flat fee per year and I can call them how many times I want. They are professional and their prices are terrific. Their technicians are excellent as well.

Description of Work: My home in GA was having problems with the central air conditioning for about a year and beginning of this spring, once again the problem re- started, we had already had it repaired last year a couple of times and knew it needed to be replaced. However as we do not live in the area at the time my brother who lives there, tried to find some reliable and reasonable establishment to do and guarantee the job, With the help of Angies list who recommended Hammond and a few other agreeing sources we called Hammond, What a delight, my brother had a very enthusiastic and positive experience with the estimator. Hammond was absolutely painless in helping me pay for the services long distance and Hammond came through to the delight of my sister-in-law with very happy with the efficient and effective and professional manner of replacing the new unit,----THANK YOU HAMMOND,---it works great!!---AND THANK YOU ANGIES LIST---for putting our minds at ease in finding someone reliable and trust worthy.

The company immediately contacted me about the installation date and process. I received phone calls from the office to tell me who would be coming and when. The new installation was done within 2 1/2 business days. All questions I asked were answered to my satisfaction. The new equipment looks great and is performing well.

If the person I need to talk to wasn't there, they have always called me back in about 15-20 minutes. They are reliable. Their prices are competitive with others in the area. We have been very satisfied. They do what they say they are going to do. If they do quote you a price, they stick to that price. I am very pleased with Hammond. With the agreement, they do not charge us any additional fees on holidays or weekends.
Description of Work: We have an agreement with them where they come three times a year on our heating, air conditioning, and plumbing. They recently put in our heat pump. We have used them for years.

+ 2 moreHammond removed, repaired, and re-installed the cooling coil in my 15 year old Geo-Thermal heat pump. This is a risky repair and most companies won't even attempt it. It has now run for a year and saved me from the expense of replacing the unit at a time when I could not afford to replace it.
Description of Work: The cooling coil on my 15 year old Geo-Thermal heat pump started leaking and the unit stopped cooling. Hammond told me that repairing the coil was a hit and miss proposition and recommended replacing the unit. The economy being what it is, I took the chance. Hammond did a great job of fixing my system and keeping my costs down. Hammond Services is a company that was formed and managed by a good man, Ed Hammond, and now his son, David, is carrying on. They are hard working, Christian people, and stand behind their work. You can trust Hammond Services!

They are also very thoughtful and take care of every detail. I am on a service plan so they come out twice a year and check everything. They check everything including the heating and air, changing of the filters; they check all the wiring and the smoke detectors, plumbing, and any kind of issue with the house. That is a contractual service.

+ -1 moreI believe I got carried away on the previous item and detailed everything that should have gone here. My recommendation to every citizen in any county Hammond Services may work? DO NOT CALL THEM FOR ANYTHING!
Description of Work: Technician hooked up water line for ice maker. When he went to turn the water on, he failed to turn the valve on the new installation off. I heard water running in the kitchen, and I turned off the valve before the technician returned. When he saw the water all over the floor, he asked if he could help. I was so irritated by then that I told him "No." He replied that he would see us later, and left. I called the main offices of Hammond Services to complain about the technician, his work, and his attitude, and about the possible damage to my floor. An adjuster came to the house and agreed that there was some damage to the floor and assured me that the floor would be repaired. Two or three phone calls later and another visit -- by a different adjuster -- and I was told that Hammond had no obligation to repair the damage, and even questioned whether the damage was caused by the water leak. (Additionally, a cordless Ryobi tool kit was stolen from my carport during this time of discussion. The technician was the only person who had ever been in the carport. Nothing was stolen before or after this theft.) I would not call Hammond Services to work on anything at my house -- ever!

+ 1 moreExcellent. Hammond provided me with several different options in replacement water heaters and the cost was on a par with what I expeted to pay. They also gave me the option of paying 90 days, same as cash so that I could have my "Christmas" money on hand, then pay for the water heater and installation after the first of the year. I can highly recommend Hammond Services
Description of Work: Removed old hot water heater and installed a tankless hot water heater. Provide additional plumbing to install new tankless system. This provider did an excellent job, the installer was on time and cleaned up all the mess he made in a very timely and professional manner

+ -1 moreHammond Services visited our home to complete a fall check-up on our heating/air system. We paid approximately $200.00 earlier this year (summer) for a bi-annual check-up service plan. So, this visit actually didn't cost anything...we pre-paid at the time of the summer service. The service included a check-up and preventative/routine maintenance of the overall system. The technnician that performed the summer service cleaned the grills of the outside unit, checked coolant pressure and added needed coolant, changed the filter of the air handler in the attic, etc. The technician that recently performed the fall/winter service checked the outside unit, changed the filter, checked the static pressure and efficiency of the system, etc. Both technician's were professional, clean, knowledgeable, and brought all the needed tools and supplies. Due to the weather at the time of the winter visit, the technician that recently visited even wore shoe covers to protect the carpet/flooring. Each visit took about 30 minutes to an hour. Very good service overall.

+ -1 moreIt was a very good experience. They were very good about prepping the area prior to doing any work by putting protective film on the carpet. They were very thorough about everything they did. As they installed the new duct work, I could tell it was done properly. I had problems with the thermostat, but they came out very quickly and repeatedly until they got the problem resolved.
Description of Work: They pulled out all the old duct work and installed new duct work, a new furnace, central air, and the thermostat.

They did a good job installing my new tankless water heater. When I had problems later, they came for a no cost follow up. However, they did not get back to me about an estimate for another project I discussed with them.
Description of Work: Install a Rinai tankless water heater. Remove old water heaters.
