Description of Work: Helped with decorating my new home. A plan was made for doing the project in phases because of budgetary restrictions. All meetings were on time, professional and educational for me. Pricing seemed in line and I was extremely pleased with the service and the interior designer. I would highly recommend.

We have a large area downstairs (about 4,000 sq ft) where a pool had been removed and/or bulldozed over. Some rooms had been partially completed adjoining that area. We were struggling to come up with plans to help plumbers, electricians, etc. work in that vacant area. I called Teresa Davis and once she was on-board with this project, it went from agony to fun. Her ideas and suggestions were wonderful and she worked with us to develop an area that most appropriately considered function while incorporating the style my family was interested in using. Some of the ideas we initially had concerning the area would have been disasters but Teresa very kindly worked out the kinks, measured the areas, put plans on computer-generated program that allowed us to see how the project would look after completion from several angles. Professionally drawn plans are a huge advantage to us while we are getting quotes from plumbers, electricians, etc. Having plans that are properly drawn by a professional who considered our needs and our desires has been the most intelligent thing we have done since starting this project. I would highly recommend Teresa Davis to anyone BUT particularly to those people who, like us, thought that drawing up plans was a D.I.Y. project. I am sure any money we paid to Teresa will be offset by funds we would have had to use to correct our mistakes if we had progressed without her. On a totally personal note: Teresa is fun and I enjoyed chatting with her. She is a good person and I would trust her with any project. I am planning on re-doing the upstairs in my home and she will be the first person I call.
Description of Work: Teresa drew up plans to convert an area in our basement from vacant area into a lovely living space for my daughter, son-in-law and granddaughters. When completed, this area will have three bedrooms, three bathrooms, large kitchen/living area, an office, game room and a media room.

While this was a very small job, the provider had done a great deal of other work prior to that. She is an extremely talented decorator who takes the time to get to know the client and their likes and dislikes. She always provides several options to choose from and has helped me to decorate several rooms in my new home I look forward to continuing to work with this vendor. I highly recommend her.
Description of Work: Provided some finials for a bed. The originals had been lost in a move.

We bought a foreclosed property that we intended to remodel the living room, kitchen and dining room to create a single large open room. In working with Teresa we learned that other parts of the house could be addressed at the same time with significant savings incurred due to contractors being on location, etc. She was right! We ended up transforming the entire house for lees than expected. Teresa kept to schedule in spite of issues cropping up. She provided continuous guidance to keep the overall design integerty in place. A real pleasure to work with. I would recommend anyone planning to remodel, contact Teresa Davis first!
Description of Work: Teresa worked with us to do a complete remodeling of our recently purchased home including moving walls in several parts of the house. The kitchen, dining room and living room was made into a wonderful "Great Room". Two of the bedrooms are now one good size painting studio with a tray ceiling providing a wonderful sense of space. New hardwood floors throughout most of the house, the rear of the house facing our backyard and pool is a wall of glass. Beautiful! You simply have to see it but it a completely transformed the house. It is now tailored to our needs and desires and a pleasure to live in. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Teresa. She never tired of listing to our thoughts and concerns. She is a problem solver with a great sense of style and design.

Mr. & Mrs. Member, we greatly appreciate your choosing Interior Designs & Décor LLC after your online search to assist you in your home remodel. It was an absolute joy to design the home’s transformation as you viewed the 3-D CAD detailed plans via our linked computers while you were still out of state. With confidence, Mrs. Member walked away from the foreclosure conditions of the home to leave the state for a few weeks and then returned to the newly remodeled home. We are thrilled that you both find the home to be “tailored to [your] needs and a pleasure to live in.” Thank you for your trust in us to produce the results desired. Your ability to make decisions as options were presented assisted in keeping the project on schedule and created a beautiful and functional custom space!

. Teresa started off well. She asked us to fill out a survey form identifying how we wanted the house to look. We agreed to work on the blinds, shutters, window treatments, great room, dinette, dining room and to make suggestions on the living room. We also asked her to select barstools for the kitchen are that extends to the great room. The blinds and shutters were installed well and were attractive. After the shutters were installed rugs were ordered before furnishings, a mistake. Some rugs were fine and fit the eventual decor, some did not. Se did send one back herself. She ordered one for the living room without our approval and had to return it. That was the first indication that things were going the wrong way. The dinette, was not exactly what we wanted but it was ok. The dining room table was fine, but we insisted that it be the one ordered, she strongly recommended one that was dark and imposing. It would have been a disaster. A major issue was one of scale. All of the furnishings she selected and ordered were of good quality, but they were not the right size. She ordered a very large oil painting for an alcove in the hallway. It was not the right scale for the opening and very imposing. In fact, her sense of scale was not appropriate in general She ordered a coffee table and an end table to go in front of the sofa in the great room that was way too large. We had to send them back. She was very angry about that, since she purchased it with no return privileges, a very unwise business practice. Many of the occasional pieces were too large for their intended use. She did order very lovely floral arrangements and a large artificial palm arrangement for the great room that was attractive In general, she did not listen to us. She effectively wanted us to trust her to make most, if not all, the decisions. When things didn't work out, she became defensive and said that no one else had ever sent anything back or had been unhappy with her services. Towards the end she was writing us long and rambling emails that were designed to justify her actions. The emails did say she wanted us to be satisfied, but in the end, she terminated the relationship before finishing the job, canceling the order for the sofa and chairs without our knowledge (after they had been ordered for over two months) because she had difficulty ordering them. We requested that she give us the ordering information for them. but she refused, saying she didnt recommend them at that point. She didn't want to have to send them back. When we insisted, she wrote a final email to my husband saying how difficult I was to work with and that she would give us the information for 100.00 dollars. it was obvious she was finished and that she had written us off as customers. We found her to be difficult to work with and unprofessional in her attitudes and actions. We would not recommend her to others.
Description of Work: Provided Interior Design Services, including selection of blinds and shutters and furnishings. Selected and supervised the installation of blinds and shutters, assisted with the selection and purchasing of drapes, rugs, furniture, occasional pieces, and wall treatments.

Response from Interior Designs & Decor, LLC
I invite Members to visit my website to see additional reviews as this is the ONLY negative review of any kind from any source that Interior Designs & Décor LLC has ever had. Response to the Grades of this Review - -Prices were well below MSRP and below retailers’ published sale prices. -Quality was excellent for the cost/budget and above the local retail quality suggested by Mrs. Member. -Responsiveness. I usually responded within minutes and certainly within one day. (One of her last emails was sent to me at 9:59 pm. She sent another email the next day at 3:13 pm stating that she “deserve[s] an explanation.”) -Punctuality. I do not recall ever being late for an appointment. -Professionalism. I am shocked! I suppose that this grade is in reference to her perception of our last transaction. General Response - I am sorry that I was not able to meet all the needs of this client, but I am pleased that during our many appointments Mr. & Mrs. Member were complimentary of me, my suggestions, the many products, and the completed spaces in their home. I believe the grades submitted are based on our last transaction although we successfully worked together on this project for several weeks with many considerations and purchases. Mr. & Mrs. Member quickly agreed to the furniture placement for the space, and to first choose area rugs as inspiration. Mrs. Member made all final decisions based on her personal preference, approved all furnishings, and paid deposits for orders to be placed. While waiting for deliveries, she became extremely anxious regarding her decisions. In most instances, her sister and I were able to assure her that her choices would be fine. She was pleased once the décor was completed. However, she rejected some products before the designs were finished. The manufacturers and retailers published policy is, “Cancellations and changes are permitted only within 72 hours of order placement.” This is the usual business practice for custom orders. These furnishings could not be returned to the wholesale suppliers, but I took them back at no charge to her. Scale, Balance, Proportion, & Space Planning - I am knowledgeable of the subject (a Bachelors of Science Degree with a Computer Science minor - graduating magna cum laude, and a 3-year degree in Interior Design - graduating with distinction). I have many successful years of experience in decorating and computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) which includes space planning for functionality, traffic flow, and furnishings. I discussed dimensions of the furnishings and used tape measures to assist Mrs. Member in visualizing the products in the large, open rooms with high ceilings since she was not accustomed to such spaces. Large accessories were used to balance the large space with the homeowner’s existing small accessories and miniatures. The Last Transaction, the sofa and two chairs – The manufacturer agreed to cancel the custom order for the upholstered sofa and chairs because of their mistake. I saw it as a blessing for her to be able to cancel the custom order that she seemed to no longer want. I explained my position via email and made suggestions as to how to proceed to cause the least anxiety for Mrs. Member. She perceived the email as a description of “how difficult [she, Mrs. Member] was to work with.” I would never make such a statement to a client! I apologize for offending her. Due to her responses to previous deliveries and the cancellation of the sofa order, I felt it best for her to seek advice from someone else for the sofa options even though she requested further assistance from me. The last response from this client was that my last email was unprofessional, they were not interested in the order information, and this would be our final communication on the project. I accepted the fact and offered no further comments. My next affiliation with this project was to find this review on Angie’s List several weeks after it was submitted. I have learned from the experience and will monitor customer satisfaction more closely. ******* A Few Details of Some of the Furnishings – The living room rug. She said her husband, “loved it!” Her email read, “…I think I like it for that room,” and, “The invoice [which included the rug] is fine.” She paid the deposit to place the order for that rug. I accepted those actions and the deposit as “approval.” Later, I told her (with her sister present) that I would try to stop the order; however, she chose not to. When the rug was delivered, she immediately began to reiterate her former concerns. The rug was immediately reloaded so as not to cause her further anxiety. I did not charge for my time, my travel, the rug, the delivery, or the return shipping. The other five rugs were kept and look great! The Dinette. After checking with several suppliers, no one was able to provide a dinette with the features desired and the cost of a custom built dinette was not within the budget. The Dining Room Suite. Two appropriate options were offered for the dining room suite for Mrs. Member to choose (or reject). While waiting for delivery, Mrs. Member questioned the dimensions (scale) of the suite she chose. I calmly reminded her that she saw me measure the room, the rug, and the suite. I assured her it would be fine. She told me not to place any more orders for her. I politely agreed. She called her sister, who also told her the dining room suite would be fine. The next morning, Mrs. Member sent me an apologetic email and requested another order for another custom floral arrangement. When the dining room suite arrived, she was happy that she had chosen it as well as the floral arrangements. *** I know that all things will work together for good for me and I hope the same for Mr. & Mrs. Member as well.
