Description of Work: We had this company come out to fix the ice maker. The man said he had to order a part. He came back with the wrong part. Once he came back to put the correct part in, he was banging on the coil of the refrigerator. As soon as he was done banging on it, the house smelled of Freon. I told him it had to be from him and he denied he dd anything. We fired him.

Description of Work: I got the name off the Internet to fix a computer panel on my Frigidaire stove (this is before I joined Angie's List). The phone is answered by an answering service who schedule the appointment. The person who shows up is Anton, who acts like he works for a larger company, and each person is responsible for repairing different items. He came to our house thinking he was going to repair a refrigerator. He gave me an estimate, returned another day to install the panel - which is plastic as opposed to the substantial one that came with the stove. I can read the panel,and the timer counts down, but it doesn't buzz when the time is up so it's useless.. He said he would order another panel and bring it back. After many calls over a period of months (May - August) and threats to take him to court, he still didn't come back. I now use the timer on my microwave to alert me to cook time complete. While Anton was here, I also asked him if he could fix a light on the bottom of my above-stovetop microwave. He went out to the van, came back in and told me the 'microwave guy' told him it would also be several hundred dollars. I said 'nevermind' and my husband was able to install the light that I had ordered on-line in just a few minutes. After checking with the better business bureau, I found that the service guy, Anton, is also the 'owner.' I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone. I did not do due diligence before calling this company, but it taught me a good lesson. That's why I'm now an Angie's List customer.

Description of Work: I used Appliance Repair Clinic Inc for repairing my refrigerator last week.

Description of Work: I contacted Appliance Repair Clinic -- 3305 Bethany Bend, Alpharetta, GA 30004, (770) 740-8756 -- to fix my Jenn-Air dishwasher and they sent out a technician named Willy. Willy diagnosed the loud noise in my 3 year old dishwasher as related to a distressed plastic part attached to the motor. He said that the only way to stop the noise was to replace the motor completely due to the factory design, and that ultimately the failing part would ruin in the motor (in about a year). The part was ordered and installed; regrettably, a whole new set of screeches started to come from the dishwasher when I ran it after he left. BTW, he claimed that he had run it through a full cycle to check it out before leaving. When he returned to fix the newest problem, he claimed that a small metal gasket was the problem which was clearly broken after his first attempt at working on the machine. I suspect that he had not installed the new motor properly resulting in the broken gasket. Later he returned with a replacement part, but he then told me the water pump was failing. All of these subsequent “problems” should have been readily apparent on this very simple machine at each stage of his work.
