AWT Construction

This is the second home AWT has done for us. If you invite a contractor back to your house, they must have done a decent job. These guys are great. The guys work for AWT. In other words, they aren't day laborers that he picked up. We are remodeling a house I inherited. -The guys removed a chimney that was leaning. It is now prepped and ready to go for gas logs. -A terrible bay window was removed. A large double window was installed in its place. -New vinyl windows were put in. We have had other windows put in another house we own. These are the best. We live in a subdivision so noise isn't really a problem, but we can definitely tell a difference. -A deck that was in terrible shape was removed. The deck that was installed is absolutely gorgeous. It is HUGE. It has access from 2 rooms. It has stairs from the driveway and another set up of stairs that go to the back yard. We have metal "goat fencing" instead of slats. It is so cool. All of the neighbors come by and comment on how pretty and BIG it is. -We had white vinyl siding installed. He has lots of colors to choose from but this is a really traditional house. We had black raised panel shutters installed. The house looks clean and fresh. The house was built in the late 1970's. You would think it is a brand new house now. -We had black railing installed along the porch. It really makes a statement against the black house. (We had it installed on our first house by AWT and love it. We are glad Wayne suggested it.) -6" gutters were installed on the house. We had a small drainage problem and the gutters are correcting it. As I mentioned earlier, this is the second house AWT has done for us. I came home one morning to find that the vinyl guys had arrived on time. I got out of the car and one of the guys said, "Hey! We know you!" It says a lot for a company if 3 years later, the company still has the same guys on their vinyl siding crew. You don't find that often in this business. His guys are also polite and speak when the owners are on the job-site. As I mentioned earlier, we had a small drainage problem. The gutters have really helped. Wayne had his guys install some black flexible pipe. The problem is pretty much solved. Wayne Thompson is a great guy. I am a "picky" lady and he does a great job putting up with me. He is a responsive guy and is willing to text with me at 9pm at night. Not many guys in this industry are that responsive. I don't believe in giving perfect reviews unless everything is perfect. Like most guys, I had to tell them to come back and clean up. Big deal. They came back and cleaned up a little better for me. My husband is an engineer and is pleased with their work. The deck they installed pleased him and that is pretty rare in a contractor. Now, the questions everyone asks.. Would I use them if I had a 3rd house to do? Yes. Would I recommend AWT to friends and family? Yes (We have) Am I pleased? Yes and I am pretty picky. And now to answer the questions women want to know. The workers aren't creepy. They are polite and stay on task. They show up when they say are going to show up and they TEXT if they aren't going to show up. That is a miracle in my book. They put up with my endless questions. I have had millions of questions, comments and concerns about how to do something. Wayne (or one of the guys) always explained it without rolling their eyes. So if you have read this far in a review, congratulations! I'm done.

No initial bids received for more than 3 weeks. Last communication was from me to Tracy asking him to confirm disinterest in bidding projects at my home; no response.

I was very satisfied with their work. I will call them to install my new roof when it needs to be replaced. A great bunch of guys.

AWT installed our roof about nine years ago. When we had the leak, we called Wayne to check it out because we didn't think we had pipes in the attic. Wayne was at our house within a couple of hours. After crawling into the attic and verifiying we had a leaking pipe there, he called a plumber and arranged for him to be at our house within a few hours. Wayne refused any payment for his services!! The plumber came and fixed the problem. Wayne and AWT are the best!!!

They did work hard, they worked very very hard to try to solve my problem. It originally did not work and then, they kept trying and I think, maybe something finally worked. They really tried, they really, really, really, really, really did try.

The crew did an outstanding job with the installation. It was done well and done quickly. And Wayne was so easy to deal with.

Up front he asked me what I wanted to spend and I thought that was odd and didn't feel comfortable giving him a number. The man never came back, never sent an estimate. He was friendly, polite and seemed knowledgeable, but that is all well and good but he or his company never contacted me again, so the work never got done.

I contacted AWT Construction via Angie's List and received a reply within 24 hours to schedule a roof inspection. The appointment was for 2 days later and Mr. Thompson came out to meet me, then sent his roofers to my house that afternoon to replace the vent pipe boots. He and his workers were very courteous and professional. I would definitely recommend AWT for any type of roof work!

AWT were professional, prompt, and fixed the leaks. We were extremely pleased with their work. They cleaned up after their work. We have had no leaks and no water in our basement. I highly recommend AWT .

We had 21 old, single pane windows replaced with high efficiency, double pane, double hung windows through Wayne and his crew at AWT. They were able to get this job done in a single day and we are very happy with the results. Our home is cooler now and we have already noticed positive changes in our heating/cooling bills. The windows look great and are a snap to clean, never have to clean a window outside of the house again. I highly recommend using AWT for your home improvement needs.

They squeezed me into their busy schedule since it was a time sensitive job, was at risk of loosing my home insurance if it wasn't repaired. Got in and got the job done in time to meet the deadline. professional and affordable.

CWT responded quickly to our request. We were not satisfied with the first color picked to replace damaged roof tiles but he returned promptly and replaced with closer matching tiles.

I purchased the $49 roof tune up. Wayne was very responsive to Angie's list communications. He scheduled a time that worked for me and was prompt and polite. He said that my roof was shot and would need replacement. He went around and patched what he could to get me by until I could afford a new roof.

Everything went well, except the new shingles arrived a day late. The cleanup was fantastic, no nails found so far. The work crew were courteous and professional. Overall the roof looks great. The gutter crew were fast and efficient, gave me the downspouts exactly as I described. The initial contact with the company went well, the salesperson was very professional and knew his business.

The work was performed timely. The workers were very professional and Dean was great.

Wayne Thompson and his crew did a great, and they also did a great cleanup job afterwards. The difference in before and after is amazing. At first I thought the price was high, but being that AWT used high quality materials, and with the quality of work performed, the price seems fair. AWT used siding rated at 225mph, and shingles rated at 130mph.

AWT Construction replaced our roof and added gutters to our home. They did a remarkable job on both and cleaned really well after completion. They even cleaned my windows. The roof took a day to complete and the gutters were done in a few hours the next day. All quality materials were used on the roof (Owens Cornering) and seamless gutters gives our home a better curb appeal.

Wayne Thompson, the owner of AWT Construction, answered my AG,s list request in a timely manner, set an appointment and called when he was on his way. He assessed my roof situation, offered multiple roofing types, prices and warranties. He made recommendations based on my age, type of dwelling, cost and years of warranty. He asked that I remove valuable items from the walls to prevent possible damage from vibrations. The materials and workmen arrived as promised. No time was wasted with setup and commencement of work in the roof. The workmen were fast and efficient.

Wayne was very nice. Scheduled a time convenient to us both and was punctual and friendly. He checked out the roof and repaired the loose shingles I had noticed. We discussed some additional contract work that I might need done on the porch.

Wayne, the owner was thorough in explaining the reasons for needing a new roof, took pictures, and worked with the insurance company in getting the inspection completed. He was prompt in responding to texts and emails and returned calls promptly

My initial meeting with Wayne went very well. He sent his guys over to seal around a vent booth, replace some loose shingles and do an estimate of replacing the roof. A couple of weeks later we discovered one of the scooter vents was leaking again so I emailed him and he said he would send someone over. A couple of weeks later the vent was still leaking or leaking again so he sent another person over to replace the boot. AWT was responsive when we needed them and I would likely use them again.
