AWT Construction

The new roof was installed on my two story house in one day. Next new windows with argon filled glass were installed. Then the vinyl siding was installed. Finally, the sunroom was insulated and windows added along with a stone tile floor. Finally, insulation was added to the attics and a leak test was performed and the air leaks throughout the entire house was sealed. The entire process took approx. 3.5 weeks during the month of December.

I was extremely pleased with all details of my experience with AWT Vinyl. No detail was left to question and the contractors were very professional, knowledgable, punctual and efficient. The overall cost of the repairs were reasonable and a written estimate was submitted detailing exactly the work to be done and itemized. I was never charged extra for something omitted from the estimates. My overall experience was wonderful!

The job was performed in a professional and timely manner. Wayne told us when he would start and how long it would take. I was both skeptical and amazed. Except for a little exrtra time required for the interior drywall work, the roof repair and replacement was done in less than 5 days. The job site was protected well with tarps and daily cleanup efforts and except for a few lingering pieces of roof shingles and a few stray nails, it was hard to tell that only days before, an entire army of men were fully engaged in the project of completely removing the old shingles, performing the repairs and reroofing the house. The team that worked on the interior part of the project took extra precautions to protect furniture and floors and were also timely and focused. I would and have recommended AWT to friends including my father-in-law for whom AWT is currently working on a roof leak problem in an old historic Perry home.

Wayne was prompt in showing up at the appointed time for the initial estimate. I had received two other estimates prior to his and his was the lowest. His crew showed up as scheduled to perform the work and completed the job quickly. Wayne inspected the final job and made sure that all finishing details were taken care of, such as painting the vent pipes on the roof black to match the black shingles that had been installed. He also installed some additional molding to seal around the garage door better. Best of all he reduced the price by $400 because the initial estimate included work that I didn't want done and wasn't performed. I had not noticed that problem with the initial estimate and would not have realized had Wayne not brought it to my attention and made the correction on the final invoice. I would definitely recommend AWT Vinyl and use them again.

Everthing went great from the free quote all the way to clean up and inspection. Mr. Thompson met me at my house, where we went over in detail (as we walked around the entire house) what I wanted completed and what he suggested (after all he has been doing this for quite some time and knows alot more about gutters than I do). :) He emailed me the free quote that same day. As most people, I compared a few other local gutter companies and found that price, expertise, professionalism, etc... all pointed toward AWT. They even have a lifetime warranty. Once I decided to go with AWT, they were very responsive and competed the total job in one day. I am very pleased with end product and I'm a perfectionist engineer. :)

A section of the siding on my home was coming down. I looked at the reviews here and chose to give these guys a call. I had to leave a message because no one answered. I got a call back the next day. I explained what the problem was, and I also inquired about a little gutter work. He said that he would check it out tomorrow and give me a call. It took two or three days before we nailed down the right email and the estimate. It was fine because some of it was on me. The estimate was for about $800. Way over priced. I explained that I mainly wanted to siding. I wasn't sure how he got the estimate for the gutter, because I wasn't got to show him where I needed it. He resent the estimate with the price of the gutter section and the siding repair still at around $250. I thought it was still high seeing that the siding alone was priced at $143. I was too busy to look for someone else so I told them to do the siding on Saturday. He agreed to contact me on Monday and let me know their schedule. I still haven't heard anything. I called someone else today, and their estimate for the siding is 60 bucks. They are fixing it tomorrow at 12:00. When I told them the estimate he said that they hear that a lot. Some people may have had a good experience, but I am not one of them.

We decided not to have the work done at all. We just decided the windows didn't have a payback on the house. They were knowledgeable and professional. If we decided to do windows they would have been one of the ones we would have seriously concidered.

Good price quote on entire project Good work on siding. Enclosure under patio turned out good until they tried to install a home-made door latch. I made them remove the latch and replace the siding where they cut a hole. I then had to find a suitable latch and install it myself. I was not 100% pleased with roofing job. Roofing crew was mexican and did not speak/understand english very well. I initially had several more feet of ridge vent than what they put back. I said I wanted more but was told I received what was reccomended and quoted. I asked AWT to help but no response. Concrete for patio was also subcontracted. Contractor poured cement late in day. It got dark and they left before the cement was ready for the final finishing with a broom. They said they would return in a couple of hours but didn't. It was broomed earlier but at that time it was still too wet leaving a very rough surface. By not receiving the final touchup it turned out extreamely rough. Almost painfull to walk on without shoes. Had to have AWT return several times before patio roof quit leaking at connection to house. About 1 year after installation some of the vinyl near the bottom was damaged with a weedeater. I contacted AWT several times requesting they come repair this and I would pay them for the work however after nearly 6 months of repeated calling and receiving excuses and promises I gave up. Since it was not a problem other that cosmetic I decided I would wait until I was ready to sell and see about getting it fixed. After about 5 years the paint used to touchup seams and small scratches on gutter and downspout has faded to a much lighter color making the gutter system look bad. Will have to paint entire system to color match and make look good.

Company did not show up or call me back after I requesred an estimate on siding and exterior painting of my home.

Wayne was very up to date with the equipment he used to test the flow of air. He had the latest equipment and knew how to make the test and compare with local codes. He took his time and made sure the test was as accurate as possible. It was a great experience to have someone provide such great service!

As stated above, our overall experience with AWT Vinyl was first rate, beginning to end. The bid was substantially lower than competitor's bids-including Home Depot and Sears. Wayne came out and asked questions about our needs and what we had in mind. He measured thoroughly and carefully-at least twice. We had a tight time frame for installation-and as soon as the ordered windows came in-we got Wayne's call that the crew was enroute. The crew arrived within the specified time frame-and promptly began their work. We have two kitties so I asked them first to give me time to secure the kitties in a small bath to keep them safe & away from the construction noise-which they did cheerfully as they prepared for their tasks. The work was accomplished quickly and efficiently-these men know their work and work fast as well as carefully, with complete attention to every detail. The crew was professional and very pleasant to work with. All crew members spoke English well-and conducted themselves with courtesy and professionalism. It's a real pleasure to deal with folks who know their jobs and are able to work at a fast pace without sacrificing quality. We would most definately recommend AWT Vinyl for windows, vinyl, any project you might need.

After 15 years our old deck was not holding up anymore. I called AWT for an estimate and Wayne Thompson came out the next day to discuss materials, size, and to go over what our ideas were. Wayne had estimates based on the few options we were interested in to us within 48 hours. Once we reviewed them we had a few questions and Wayne came back out to go over everything with us in person. The day the job started the crew showed up on time, introduced themselves, and verified with us the work they were planning to do. The crew let us know when they were leaving for lunch, when they returned, and at the end of the day cleaned up and made sure their planned start time for the next day was convenient for us. Wayne called daily to make sure we were happy with the job progress and to answer any questions we had. At the end of the job Wayne came back out to make sure everything was the way we wanted and that we were satisfied with the deck. We could not be happier with our new deck or our experience with AWT!

The work crew arrived on the scheduled date and although I was at work, a man called me to say they were there. He also called me later that day to say the job was finished and that they had encountered no difficulties. When I arrived home the only evidence that they had been there was the beautiful new gutter (with screens) running all around the roof of the house. The crew had also nailed down the few roof shingles as promised. About a week later Wayne emailed the invoice and the estimate was the same as the final bill. One suggestion: Although Wayne has an email address it was easier to contact AWT through their telephone number.

It went fine. There were no problems and the price was excellent.

We contacted Wayne Thompson of AWT for an estimate on work for the exterior of our home. Wayne was very professional and pleasant. He was prepared to answer any questions, brought samples of materials to the initial meeting and made suggestions as we talked. We engaged AWT and the new roof and siding look beautiful; the trim very neatly applied. The gutters are sturdy and perform as promised. Likewise the windows, which are so well installed we didn?t even hear the wind howling during a recent storm, though we could clearly see the effect on the trees. Our living room has always been too dark, so we had also decided to take out the chimney and put in a bow window. Wayne suggested that, instead of the bow window, we extend the wall and add a triple window. We followed his suggestion and I am very happy with the result. We gained space in the living room and it was a less expensive option. The window is beautiful and it allows in plenty of light. We were so happy with the exterior work, we decided to go ahead with a kitchen remodel. Again, Wayne and his crew were happy to make suggestions and take our requirements into account. The kitchen lacked adequate storage space and someone suggested moving the entrance to the bedroom and framing in the former entrance. The result is a pantry that is more than four times larger than the original. In addition, AWT replaced all of the cabinets and counters and installed new appliances and lighting. The result is nothing short of breathtaking. We also had a bathtub in the master bath which was never used. We asked Wayne to take out the tub and replace it with a vanity. At the same time, we decided to replace the worn out linoleum in both bathrooms and the kitchen with tile, replace all the carpeting and repaint the entire interior of the house. As with the siding and windows, we are very pleased with the work on the interior. It?s like having a brand new house. All of the workers involved went about their jobs in a professional manner. Each was friendly and very courteous. They were always careful to keep my dogs safe and many of them happily lavished attention on them. The workers were also willing to entertain my special requests, such as installing a new doorbell. Though the nature of the work was quite varied ? running the gamut from carpentry to plumbing, Wayne was able to answer any questions we had. The workers, likewise, were clearly knowledgeable and were always willing to discuss any concerns. My only negative experience involved timing. On more than one occasion, workers were diverted from our job to another residence to handle a problem that had arisen there. I suspect that situation might have occurred no matter which company we chose, however. And it actually boosts my confidence in Wayne?s stated desire to do the best job possible. I feel very confident that, if I call with a problem, Wayne will respond promptly. Bottom line, I cannot recommend this company highly enough

They arrived on time and did the whole job in just a little over two days. The porch matches the siding on our house exactly. They even went so far as to paint our existing white dog door the bronze color it needed to be to match to new porch and the siding on the house. The workers were professional and friendly and cleaned up all the demo and spare parts and stuff that is always left behind on a remodel job. We could not be more pleased with our new porch. The price and the work were both excellent.

They were very friendly and courteous! They worked very quickly and cleaned up the job site very well. Anytime I had a question about what they were doing, they were more than happy to take the time to explain things to me! The invoice was the same as the quote - there werent any unexpected charges when it came time to pay and I really felt I got my money's worth! I'd recommend them to anyone!!
