AWT Construction

AWT Construction gave me a quote for gutter repair. They were installing gutters across the street and came over to look at mine. I've had a good experience so far. They're going to clean my gutters out, repair 3 leaf guards, and fix a spot where the gutter is damaging my roof.

The first sign of trouble was when I asked to be present during all the work. With my experience in roofing and framing, I wanted to watch the work. He never once, despite my repeated phone calls, called to let me know when he would be onsite to do repair. Wayne did not do the work, he hired cheap labor (read between the lines). When he said he had finished the job the first time, the deck boards on the roof were exposed over the facia boards. I mean, you could clearly see 3/4" plywood running all the way up the side of the house. I called him to meet me at the house to show him what I was talking about, but once again, he showed up to the rental property with his cheap labor crew and did some other work I didn't even ask for. He said he couldn't find the problem I was telling him about. I called Wayne back and once again, he could not establish a time or give me a courtesy call to let me know when he would be back to the house to fix it. Instead my tenants called me but Wayne cleared the site before I arrived. Upon his fourth or fifth return he finally realized the huge mistake and "fixed it". My roof never leaked before Wayne Thompson touched it. I was having preventative maintenance done. The third time I called Wayne back was to address a leak he created that was causing the ceiling in the sun room to fall in. Once I again, I sternly requested he let me know when he was coming to fix the issue. I also let him know his crew left tools on my roof and to remove them. Once again, his cheap labor came and patched their own leak. As for the gutters, he sent a mother-son team over to hang gutters. I have no confidence in Wayne or the crews he picks up at the railroad tracks. I will no longer allow Wayne to address any of the issues he created. I can't stand to look at his logo. I make sure I tell every roofing crew I come into contact with about my experience, and half of heard the same reviews. It's worth noting, Wayne had the highest price, but sold his services as far superior than any others. He talks a line of BS - and you won't get what you've asked for. His behavior and refusal to meet with me during his many returns speaks volumes of his true character.

They were very satisfactory. The experience was adequate; nothing spectacular. Their price was a little high.

We wanted an est. to renovate the house we were trying to buy. Wayne gave honest price for labor and materials. The house did not pass inspection and we cancelled the purchase. Although I did not contract for repair, I would recommend Wayne to anyone who needs repairs done.

We have not yet decided to use Wayne for some of the work we need done. I wanted to write this review so others like myself will know that Wayne did come out to our home and did write a detailed estimate and did present himself in a professional manner.

I emailed the company to get an estimate on how much they would charge to replace my windows, doors, and insulation, but never received a response back from the company.

He and his workers were timely, professional, listened to & answered all questions, & explained details of what they were doing, why it was being done, and how they were going to fix it. They were very patient with our questions and detailed in their explanations. It was a pleasure to have them in our home.

I made the mistake of hiring some "deacons" from my church to build an extension on my garage a year ago. The roof on the extension starting leaking at the first rain and they never came back to repair it. My advice to anyone out there - ALWAYS USE ANGIE'S LIST FIRST. I called AWT Construction from Angie's list on Tuesday late afternoon before the fourth of July. He came out promptly the next morning and gave me an estimate stating the he repair on Friday (note: the 4th of July was Thursday). He was very courteous and professional. Later the same day he sent a written estimate via email. Promptly on Friday at 9am he called and 45 minutes later he and his workers were repairing my roof. I use the word repair loosely because the previous work done by the "deacons" was so bad and I had waited so long (i.e. rotted wood) they had to take up and replace a large portion of the roof over the garage. Long story short - THEY DID AN ABSOLUTELY GREAT JOB and it only took about 3 hours. Kudos to Wayne, David and his cousin for some great work!!!!!! I must comment on the price $600. You can probably go and find some "deacons" to do work cheaper I suppose but you really do get what you pay for. If you want professional work, you have to pay professional prices - bottom line... I found the price most reasonable considering the great work.

They arrived as scheduled and completed their work in a timely manner. We are very pleased with the workmanship and feel their prices are fair for this market. We would certainly use them again. My reason for not giving them a 5 on professionalism was that they left many nails/tacks scattered across the front lawn; otherwise, they were great.

AWT did some vinyl on a room addition on my home close to 6 years ago. Last week we decided to rip up the carpet because we are going to install laminate flooring. It was then that I noticed a couple of areas where there was possible water getting in at the baseboards (mind you---AWT only did my exterior vinyl, not the construction!). I called Wayne and he was at my house that same day to look at the issue. It gets even better......he had a crew out the NEXT DAY to address the situation!! The crew called when they were almost here, and they finished the job quickly. Wayne followed up with a phone call the next business day to make sure everything went okay. Where can you find service like that!? It is a rare thing these days. I m impressed and would highly recommend AWT to anyone who asks.

Wayne Thompson is the best!! He came out and gave me a completely free estimate and recommended several companies to fix problems he found, since they were specialized components. I would gladly recommend Wayne and AWT to anyone!!!

I am very please with AWT Construction’s work. They were very professional and they were here when they said they were going to be here and I would highly recommend them to anybody. Wayne was very knowledgeable about gutters and was helpful.

I called requesting a quote to install a storm door on my house. The person I spoke with talked like they weren't interested in performing small jobs such as that. However, after I described what I wanted they agreed to stop by my house to look at the job and said they would email me a quote. As far as I know, they never stopped by my house, and I have never received the quote. A person should keep their word when they tell you they will do something. If they are not interested in performing small jobs like installing a storm door, then they should say so up front and be done with it. This company has a lot of good reviews on Angie's List and they were recommended to me by a neighbor. Needless to say, my experience with them was a real disappointment. Based on my experience, I would not recommend them to anyone.

Wayne Thompson came out and accessed some storm damage I had to my roof. He was very professional, up front and on time .I liked the fact that he didn't ask about insurance claims etc. He gave me an estimate and that's all I wanted, as I knew my insurance wasn't going to pay to replace my entire roof, though it needed it. There were other issues I had with my house that I needed, such as some gutters and replacement siding/soffitting. He quoted me a price and I was comfortable with it. The work was done in a timely manner. There have other things around my house that I would like to have done/repaired and wouldn't hesitate a minute in contacting them again for those repairs.

Wayne Thompson is very prompt and very knowledgeable. I was impressed with the quality of the work done and with his helpfulness. He also lined up another contractor to quote substantial grading and driveway installation work. I was very satisfied and will call Wayne again.

We are military that had to move and put our house up for rent. After all the heavy rains and wind, our roof began to leak in one area. called a few other companies as well, but this one DID actually call my renters, make an appointment, and gave the renter's an estimate. The guy said he would call me and I never heard from him. It's been over 2 weeks now. Luckily, I had called a few others, but what a waste of time for my renters!

Wayne Thompson came over to a property we believed had a roof leak. When I called for an estimate he said that he would come out to see the roof first and came out the next day. He examined the roof discovering it was an easy fix. The estimate was fair and the work was completed the following day. He was very professional, polite, and honest. I would definitely use them again.

Had an appoinment and Wayne was running a little late, he called ahead to let me know. He came in and gave me an estimate. He came back with his crew and fixed the problem. Very professional.

They did what they are supposed to do. Their price was very reasonable.

Everything went well from the estimate through completion. I had a slight problem with one of the workers but when I brought it up to the owner it was dealt with swiftly and decisively so I cannot gig the owner on the acts of one individual. The work was completed as described for the price quoted. No shady dealing...no attempt at insurance creative financing...all in all a pleasant experience aside from actually having to pay for it

As a real estate agent, AWT has performed several jobs for myself and my clients over the past 4 months. All have been done in a timely manner and any issues that have arisen have been handled immediately and to my clients and my own satisfaction. Wayne has stayed professional yet friendly with my clients, and has built a lasting relationship with many.

Left a message, they called back almost immediately. Owner came to the house and provided quick estimate to install plumbing vent cap. Someone came within two hours and installed the vent cap. They fabricated an adapter to fit the cap I bought and were finished within 10 minutes. Very professional and nice people.

Tear down only took 2 days to tear out and clean up/disposal of everything - we were completely amazed. Then the hard work started. Wayne took my electrical concerns seriously and had a complete inspection done. We had to have some wiring replaced & we added some outlets. Some studs had to be replaced, walls repaired, one wall almost completely rebuilt, and a ceiling repaired and both ceilings refurbished. We had a doorway enlarged and door replaced. An outside wall had to be repaired to stop water from leaking into house. We were going to just replace/repair ceiling insulation in that area of the house but when we asked for a quote on the whole house, we couldn't pass up the savings. We asked for gutters to be added to the house but were told that a color match may not be found so we were going to just go with white; but, Wayne's guys found us the color that matched exactly. It looks wonderful. We have an older home in an older section of our town. Wayne understood we did not want to out-price the value of our home with the repairs that needed to be done at that time and still needed to be done in the future. He made excellent suggestions to help keep us within our budget. We really appreciated his understanding and expertise. He treated us as if he was working on a million dollar home. Each crew that came in was professional and their work was excellent. They strived to do the best work possible and to make sure we were completely satisfied. We were very pleased with all the work and we will definitely call on AWT again. When I have time off of school again next summer, I am hoping he can fit us in to remodel our kitchen and a bathroom. I would like to apologized to Wayne for taking so long to write this review; but, school started and it's been a busy and stressful beginning. I should have taken time to sit and write this sooner. I can only hope he forgives me enough to come back and do some more work next summer.

Wayne Thompson came to the home to give me an estimate to modify our home (two bedroom with a hallway between) to better accommodate my son who is in a wheelchair. He was VERY likeable and seemed very honest and also stated that he does alot of work for his Church. He went over everything that he would do for the $18,500. The work is sloppy and unprofessional and he didn't provide doors and shelving as he had promised. When I told him and the crew that I was not happy with the work and that it was not acceptable and I could have done better myself they became very rude and obnoxious and Mr Thompson said my house was not the Taj Mahol!

My roof had been repaired a few times by people that were suppose to be good roofers, but their repairs didn't last very long. I didn't get any references before they did the repairs. Wayne came out, took a look at my roof, told me what it was going to take to do the job correct and also guaranteed it not to leak. He was very professional and straight forward. The crew came out and performed like true professionals. The crew leader gladly explained to me and showed me all the repairs as they were performing them. He answered any questions I asked and I felt comfortable with the answered he gave me. I've dealt with enough contractors by now to know when they are trying feed me a load of bull. The job looked very good when they finished and they did a very good job of cleaning up all of the trash once they were complete. It hasn't rained since the repairs, but I feel very confident in the repairs.
