We are a small, locally owned Landscape Contracting business. We have served Fayette and Coweta counties since 1990. We offer erosion and drainage solutions. Hardscape items like patios, retaining walls, fire pits to compliment our grading and sod installs. We finish off our projects with trees & plant packages and show case your new landscape with custom landscape lighting to meet your tastes. We take the time to listen to your ideas, and concerns then offer solutions and ideas to meet your goals and achieve the landscape you want. We don't try to over sell or pressure you into a decision. We provide quotes with a "line item " price break down so you can choose which items we discussed will be in the final scope of work. Because we use line item pricing, change orders are transparent. In most cases, we will simply refer back to the original quote for a cost per xx to arrive at the new or additional cost if changes are made during the project. We offer 1 yr plant and tree warranties, 1yr Landscape lighting warranty, and 2 year Hardscape warranties. Like any warranty, we ask that you do your part, Water fertilize and mulch plants and trees. We do not warranty against acts of nature, but we stand behind our workmanship. Call today for an onsite consultation to start growing the landscape you dream about.

He was blocking the road and told me to “wait a **** minute”. When I callled him, he called me arrogant and impatient. He was very confrontational and defensive. Not someone I would recommend others do business with. Be careful!

This guy needs a lesson on how to talk with customers. So rude and makes it sound like an inconvenience that you are calling to ask about giving them business. I didn't even both asking about services. Talking to this joker for one minute gave me enough to know I would never want to do business with this company. It was a two day return time.

I do not remember speaking with this person but I obviously never did business with them. Why does Angie's list allow reviews in this circumstance ? I try my I I try my best to return every call personally. In the spring and summer, that is nearly impossible due to the volume of calls. I also have to screen the potential sales calls by making sure we do the work the caller needs. On occasion, the caller gets offended when I ask questions or start explaining market values. I do this to make sure people have a general idea of the cost usually involved in the type of project they want a price for. This is the only [Member Information Removed] I can manage my time and avoid spending too much time selling and not producing. I guess it is impossible for some to understand that all we have as contractors is time and if we spend it unwisely, it will impact our ability to earn a living.

Burt was very professional from the get go and showed up on time everyday and stayed as late as it took to get the job done. He and his team dug trenches and placed drains. He had to dig up concrete and asphalt in places to access the area. He coordinated with a great concrete company to restore the area afterwards and I have to say it looks fantastic! He also installed new sod and put fresh decorative rock down on an area that covered the drains. We got to see our new drains in action as it rained heavily the night that the project was completed. I never thought I could be so excited about drains but when the rain stopped and the area was clear with no standing water, I was delighted!! No more soggy mess and it looks lovely. He also filled in and regraded a hole that had been eroding. That was covered with sod too. Thanks to Burt and his team for a fantastic job! It is a relief when a project is completed on time and on budget.
Description of Work: We had drainage issues around our house and wanted to route the water away. Burt made suggestions and came up with a plan. He had great ideas and brought them to life.

I contacted this company to schedule an appointment for a quote on fixing some irrigation problems. The first thing he asked me was where I was located and he had a very negative attitude in expecting I was already out of his service area but in fact I am very close to him. The gentleman on the phone was very clear that his time was precious and he didn't have time to come out and give me a free estimate like his website advertises unless I was ok with paying for a $2,000 or higher job. He has never seen my yard and the issues I"m having so this made me very uneasy right from the start. I tried to explain my problems with water pooling in the yard by my driveway and a water leak I have on the outside facing wall in my basement. He started asking about other existing french drains and started talking about problems with those clogging up and how much of a pain they are. I tried to convey that I just bought this home recently and I don't really know what existing fixes were done here and I really just wanted him to come out and take a look and see what was here and advise me from there. I told him if he was not ok with coming out to give me an estimate unless I've agreed to a $2,000+ job, I would have to find someone else who is willing to actually come look at my yard first. I said I might not have a problem with a $2,000+ job if it's necessary and explained to me what really needs to be done. My biggest problem with this guy was that he had a very negative attitude towards any of the work that I might have needed. If you are going to provide a service to someone why aren't you saying "yes, that's something I can help you take care of" instead of searching for reasons why the job will be a nuisance. The entire conversation was very negative and definitely rubbed me the wrong way and made it seem as if this guy only spends his time on big expensive jobs.

The volume of calls we receive is too high to provide an estimate for everyone. Yes the estimates are free. My time is not. In the interest of providing solutions to as many people as possible and time management, I must screen or qualify the calls I get. I always ask where the job is because we get calls from all over Atlanta but only service Fayette & Coweta counties. I also ask the customer for a brief description of the problem so I can begin to understand what they may need and if it is something we can provide. I always try to provide advice over the phone where possible. I try to get a good enough understanding of the problem to provide a "ball park" estimate or at least a starting cost to make sure the customer understands the costs involved in the type of work they need. These situations may seem like they have to be seen to provide solutions and prices but not necessarily. Since January 1st we have received around 30 calls for drainage (not irrigation) problems and the vast majority of them have been the same kind of problem so once I have priced several, I have a really good idea what the average job will cost. Too many people are looking, no EXPECTING "free" advice and estimates with no concept or respect for the value of a contractors time. I have never charged for an estimate but do protect my time when I can tell from the conversation that the customer isn't prepared to spend what it will take to permanently correct the problem they have. Most sales calls require at least 2 hours from initial phone call, to onsite consultation, to typing up and sending an estimate. I provided about 250 free estimates last year and did not hear back from more than half of them even after follow up calls. Lastly, I apologize. If this customer got the impression that I was negative, I guess I failed to explain my process well enough. I wish her luck with finding a solution to her problems.

Burt is such a nice guy. He communicates very effectively. He knows what to do. He knows how to diagnose your water and drainage issues. He was so professional. He told us to try several things first before hiring him to do a large job. Anyone who says he is rude is wrong. He gets to the point and lets you know what to expect. He knows his stuff when it comes to all things drainage and landscaping. I had a pleasant conversation with him on the phone and in person. He got back to me promptly. He serves his customers well in Fayette county. It was so nice to have someone in the area come over to give me a bid in a reasonable matter of time. He was very thorough. I will definitely hire him in the future to do landscaping work on my property. A pleasure to deal with.

Went great, the visit helped to shed light on some solutions and causes.
Description of Work: Burt was very helpful in helping to solve a storm drainage issue at my home. I sent pics to him and we talked over the phone about my concerns and issues with drainage. He did his best to just go by the pictures and not have to make the full drive to my city which is just outside of his regular service area. He made time to drive over and see first hand the issues I described and gave me some initial steps on how to help the drainage issue myself. Id call on him again for an estimate without hesitation. Thanks Burt!

I hired Burt Young, owner of Landscape Innovations since 1990, to regrade and install grass for my entire lawn of approximately 10,000 square feet. This included creating a slope away from the house foundation and the roll and blend of the contours of the lawn to improve both drainage and visual appearances. My lawn was the eye sore of the neighborhood. What grass I had was overgrown with weeds, rain had eroded the front of the lawn down to the red clay, and a portion of the lawn sloped right into the house which caused problems during heavy rainstorms. I had a couple of landscaping companies provide estimates. The high end estimate recommended installing drainage and a sprinkler system. Burt?s estimate was $7,000 less than this estimate and included grading the lawn away from the house to provide natural drainage and providing me a watering regimen to ensure that the grass became properly rooted. At my request Mr. Young showed me some of his other projects within the neighborhood and after seeing those results I hired him. I gave little guidance other than the grand scheme of things and relied on Mr. Young?s experience to develop the lawn. To this end Mr. Young exceeded my expectations. Several things impressed me with this project. First, Mr. Young personally worked on my lawn all day, each day, all week (I?ve never seen an owner of a Company do that before). Any unforeseen issues were discussed and resolved immediately to my satisfaction. The final cost was $150 over the estimate due to those unforeseen issues (e.g., three underground stumps were uncovered during the grading and had to be removed). The grading was exceptional, not only eliminating the water running into the house?s foundation, but providing beautiful contours. This involved moving tons of dirt from around the lawn; no dirt had to be purchased and brought in. The end result is an exceptionally beautiful lawn and one that I am very proud to have. Without any reservation I would refer people to Mr. Burt Young for their landscaping needs.
Description of Work: Re-grade yard to slope away from foundation, a six foot wide positive slope; fill in a sink hole; roll and blend contours of lawn spaces to improve both drainage and visual appearance. Install Zoysia grass to include prepare lawn areas with sand/compost mix, tool up soil, spread sand, power rake and hand rake.

It's been a long time since I encountered anybody as rude and patronizing as the man who spoke with me. He identified himself as the owner of the compant but declined to give me his name. I began by making my request for an appointment and from then on, I barely got a word in. He lectured me about how this was the busiest time of the year for landscapers and how I should wait until fall or winter to begin this job. What? Nothing is growing then! I politely told him that I wanted to meet with a landscape architect to help me draw up a plan for redoing my borders around my home and he interrupted by telling me that most landscapers, including him, were far too busy now with high dollar homes and businesses to bother with me out in Grantville. He also said he didn't even know where Grantville is which is unfortunate because it is only about 20 minutes from his business addresses in Fayetteville and Peachtree City. He implied, from his comments, that I really didn't have enough money for him to bother with me and that I obviously had no idea of what I wanted to begin with. I was flabbergasted. I have had several other landscapers come here to provide quotes and none of them had ever treated me this way. As I attempted to explain my position, he just hung up on me. I guess what he didn't realize is that my farm and home here are large by community standards. The area around just my house is over an acre and there are several greenhouses as well as a 6000 square foot house. Two koi ponds and a big yard. 20 acres in pasture for the horses. I haven't redone the landscaping since I moved in over 14 years ago and things are a bit overgrown now and need replacing. I was hoping to work with a credible and knowledgable expert on the design, purchase, and installation of new landscaping. I am a senior citizen and cannot do all that work myself. I guess I will just have to look elsewhere for assistance. Unfortunately for this rude man, money was never the problem here. It's a nice job for someone who wants to do the work.

Wow!!! I have no idea who this person is. I always introduce myself when i answer the phone or call someone. I know exactly where Grantville is. One of my employees lives 6 miles from there in Moreland. I takes him nearly an hour to get to work. If i had spoken with her, i would have told her we do not service her area. I try to limit our travel time to 30 minutes. I wonder if she spoke with someone at another Landscape Innovations since there are at least two others in Georgia. It's a real shame that complete strangers can review and discredit a companies performance without ever doing business with them. I love the idea of a service like Angie's list but it obviously has flaws.

Burt was kind enough to take the time to direct us to another wonderful landscaper who had more room in his schedule on short notice. Fabulous! I will not recommend them. They did not complete the job thoroughly and came back twice and still not correct. I do not think I will use them again. I had them landscape my front and back yard with grass. It did not appear right. The yard is not drained correctly. They did drain first and did each time. They did come back twice and tried to fix it. It did not worked out well. They were competitive.

Against my better judgement,Ii installed Zoysia sod where i thought it would have difficulty growing. That was what what the customer wanted and after explaining why it was a bad idea, she insisted. My default is the customer is always right. Then when the grass died, i returned and installed a french drain and new sod. That sod also died, but she insisted it was not the extreme shade. She insisted it was poor drainage even thought there was 18" of elevation change in a 40' long area. I returned to the job with more drain pipe and more sod one more time with hopes of finally making the customer happy with our work. Impossible, unrealistic expectations. I tried 3 times.

During the spring and summer, we stay booked 60+ days from March through July. 2014 has been unusually busy so the incoming calls became overwhelming. I attempted to return the 20-30 calls per day we were receiving so the caller would know to keep looking for available contractors. I hear from customers every year "NO ONE WILL RETURN MY CALLS". We are in a VERY seasonal business and have to make our living in 6-8 months of the year. The average customer is anxious to get started with a project ASAP or maybe up to a month later. When we have 3 months of work sold, we must use our time wisely to get it complete before we have cancellations. I never met [member name removed] (the member who wrote this review). I returned her phone call, gave an idea of what market price should be for the work she described, and advice on how to protect herself throught the process. (Control the money Control the job). Unfortunately our business has many "MORALLY CHALLENGED" individuals in it. I wished her well with her project and have not spoken with her since. I did not perform any work for her. I did not make promises that were not kept. As a courtesy, i returned her call ,even though we were booked, because that is how i would like to be treated as a customer. It's a shame that a rating of B is allowed by someone who was never going to be a customer. It was intended to be a help full phone call.

Burt Young and his team were outstanding bid to completion. He is a professional who genuinely cares about his client. They did a marvelous job and work extremely hard and even saved us money after the bid. He could have charged us the exact bid amount but found areas to effectively save us money and still make the landscape look fantastic. We will not hesitate to use Burt again and highly recommend them to those seeking to upgrade their landscape or outdoor project.

Description of Work: I received an estimate from Burt that was in line with other estimates. Four pallets of Bermuda Grass. It took about 2 weeks for Burt to squeeze me in (small job). The sod arrived today followed soon after by Burt and his helper. It took him about 4 hours to prepare the soil, lay the sod, trim the edges and replace the pine straw around the perimeter. As of now, no complaints! Looks really nice and if it takes and greens up over the next few weeks, I picked a winner! Good Job!!!

They started on a Tuesday and when I got home Wednesday night, the entire job was completed. Everything discussed and on the porposal was completed and the sidewalks and driveway were cleared of any dirt and debris. I am very pleased with the work and will certainly call Landscape Innovations when I add more landscaping to the yard.
Description of Work: I found Landscape Innovations on a Google search for local landscaping and sent an email request to the website. Burt called me back and we discussed what I was looking for - an upgrade to the existing flower beds at my recently purchased home. He came out and gave me several design and plant options. After deciding what I wanted, he came out and finished the job in ywo days. Put in brick edging alond the walkway - secured them with a packed base to prevent heaving - planted several attractive bushes and plants - and replaced the pine straw with a dark brown wood mulch. Looks fantastic.

Mr. Burt Young was the proprietor. I spent $6000 or $7000 on the job. The job went well in the end in terms of the final look and the product. We had an agreement initially to get the job done by a particular date and that date was not met. I did not think that it was initially doable. Then, we had a long wait period between when the ground was dug up where nothing was on it and laying down sod. The wait was not due to the weather but it was due to the contractor having other clients and not having access to the machinery. So, he had over committed in the beginning. He said that he could do the whole thing by a particular date but then, he could not but it worked out in the end. This was the main concern that I had. The other thing was that, he was an innovative person but my husband wanted this job done quickly. We also wanted new ideas but also wanted to be clear about what would get done and when it would be done but he kept bringing up new ideas all the time. I said yes after the initial ideas but I also wanted action and wanted things to happen by a certain date where as some people were creative but I was not so pragmatic.
