I will say that my review of this company is not out of anger, but as a warning to anyone who may deal with this company. After I purchased a ($10,000 +) Amana A/C & furnace unit in 2020 from this company, I’ve since found out that this company is a complete ripoff. In less than a year (actually, 8 months later), the capacitor blew out and they initially charged me for parts and labor. After a serious argument that it makes absolutely no sense to be charged for parts that should be under warranty, they finally agreed to charge me for only the labor. Then, almost 4 years later (actually, about 3 years and six months), the furnace control board blows out (this board has an average of a 10 -15 year lifetime). I called (on a Friday) the company and was told they will have it installed on Monday. On Monday, I was told they ordered the board and it will arrive on Wednesday. On Wednesday, I was told it had not come in yet. When the board finally got in (Friday, a week after my initial call), they refused to install the product that day or weekend (claiming that they will charge me extra). While disputing that, the general manager (name Ray), disrespectfully hung up the phone because of my persistence (no vulgarity) that the company should have someone come out and repair the system because of the frigid temperatures and that I have my 92 year old mother residing with me. They showed no empathy. They insisted that 8:30 am on Monday someone would be at my home. No one showed up. I called and was told someone would be there before 12:00pm. No one showed up, and was told I will receive a call/text. Yep, you guessed it, no one texted or called. When they finally arrived, they came with the wrong board and had to reorder the board. Surprisingly, the board that took a week to arrive, was finally installed in the afternoon on Tuesday. We were without heat in the freezing temperatures for a week waiting for a board that could have come the next day! We did not receive a courtesy call not once. Not even to tell us that the board was in. We had to call to find out if the board had arrived before we were told “oh yes, it is in” We were given so many different quotes on how much it would be for the labor! “In dealing with them, it was so frustrating, they are very unprofessional and have very poor customer service. A word to the wise is sufficed. If you’re going to deal with this company, expect to deal with an incompetent company, very poor customer service, and to be ripped-off.

They completely ripped me off!!!!!! Kevin from John Davis heating and air, there's a special place in **** for people like you and yours. A 20$ relay cost me 220$ he said because they have to keep it stocked on the truck,was charged 60$ for an air filter!!! Not a special one, not a 3m one with frebreeze that I can buy for 14$ a basic pos blue 2$ air filter and charged the system which they couldn't because it was fine I checked that myself the day before calling cost me $$$$$. They will take advantage of you especially if your wife or girlfriend is the one home and doesn't know any better!!! AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!!!!!!!! In total it cost over 500$ for something from an honest company that would be 200-225 on the high side.
Description of Work: Replaced a relay, charged the system which didn't need it, I checked that step myself and changed the air filter intake inside my house.

It was not a good experience at all. I used this company for a few years, but once john davis retired it was not the same. the last straw for me was this visit. I paid over 300 for a service contract to have my filters changed and system checked for a year. I did not receieve one service visit and when i called them towards the end of the year requesting they come they couldn't locate my contract, yet they had collected the money for it. Finally after some discussion they agreed to come out but was clear didn't want to. One tech went outside and next thing i am called to come out side and see the fuse above the unit is broken. I just came in from work that morning and drove past that. it was not broken so i challenged this and was told it just broke apart when they opened it and would be $125 to fix. then i am informed one unit needed freeon so ask how much because i dont know if it is included in the maintenance or extra. the resonse was "girl please". I was hugely offended and wanted them gone at this point. when he finished putting in freon bill was over $300 on what should have been a free visit. also of note on previous visit was told i would need to replace two of my a/c units and furnace as a/c could not be replaced separately. the cost would be $9000. I rejected this completely. My units lasted a whole year more and i recently had one replaced with another company who informed me the furnace was fine and did not need to be replaced and the other a/c unit and furnace were fully functional and didn't need replacing. the total cost $2250! a very significant difference and the new company earned my trust. I will not be using this company again.
