Overall, we were not happy. We were offered the option of performing a leak test to help diagnose the shower pan as the problem at the initial visit, however we were told this really was not necessary, so we did not do it. We were also told the test would take 24 hours; however, he was able to do a 30 minute test after the pan was installed. Had this been a requirement prior to undertaking such a large and costly repair, we would have been saved considerable time and expense. We also had multiple communication issues and the work took over a month to complete as a result. When I called him to express my frustration about the job and the lack of the diagnostic being done at the beginning, his response was that the work would've needed to have been done anyway in a few years.

Pretty well. We probably wouldn't have taken the recommendation to use different tile for the checkerboard portion (we literally put a checkerboard in for games) but they were done on time. They even worked on Sunday to finish the job

The job went very well. Scott Starling was prompt to contact me when I first contacted him. He came to my home within a few days and provided a written quote a few days later. He was very professional and courteous at all times. His crew was also very professional and made sure that everything was perfect. They were always on time and cleaned up every evening. Mike Crowder (lead installer) did an outstanding job and Spencer worked hard and took the time to layout the tile. There were many angles in my foyer and it wasn't an easy job by any means. I had an issue after they left with residue from the epoxy grout which I couldn't remove in some areas and Scott gladly came back to take care of it. Overall, I wish I had known about SS Custom Tile for the previous tile work I had done in my home. I highly recommend them.

Scott did show up on 11-20-14 to look at the work we wanted done in our guest's bathroom. He told us that we would receive an e-mail with an estimate by 11-23-14. We waited a week and nothing came. We called him and asked him if he was interested in doing the work, he said a glitch probably caused his e-mail from getting to us. We never heard from him again.. Obviously, he didn't want to take the job, but wasn't professional enough to tell us . We would never again call on this man to do anything! How this man & Company ever received an A rating is beyond me. A simple phone call and 1 ounce of courtesy is all it would have taken, an this would not have been written. Disgraceful!

Scott and his crew were great, they always showed up when they said they were going to be there. The crew were always polite and took extra care to make sure other areas of the house weren't affected by the remodel. When we questioned Scott about specific parts of the project he was always quick to respond and promptly to care of any problems that came up. I would highly recommend Scott.

I did a bathroom remodel and I used SS Custom Tile. They do quality work. They are easy to work with. I would grade them with all 'A's.

They did really well. They did a great job. They showed up on time and their prices were reasonable. They were easy to talk to and the people at work were very good. I was overall happy with them.

Mr. Starling was unfailingly courteous and prompt. It was always easy to get in touch with him. His workers were also courteous and professional and kept their work area very clean. Our original shower was poorly constructed and leaked, causing the tiles to fall off and damage to the subfloor. Mr. Starling's crew ripped out the shower, removed my tub, then rebuilt the shower surround and placed new tile (also replaced the tub). I am unhappy in general about having to remodel my bathroom as a result of poor practices on my original builder's part; that is not Mr. Starling's fault. I hope at least this time I got what I paid for and this shower will last far longer than 8 years--the life of the original shower. I am not listing the price of the job for my own privacy. Mr. Starling is a knowledgeable professional who cares about doing quality work. His Facebook page shows many examples of his creative and careful tile work. I would recommend him without reservation.

Mr. Starling first visited our house a few weeks before the work started. He understood what we wanted, and made some detail suggestions to improve the ideas. His quote was more than reasonable, and he came with good references, so we committed to his company fairly quickly. Mr. Starling did not purchase the materials for us, but did provide us a complete list of materials needed for the job, including the amounts of tile required for the various aspects of the job. His numbers proved to be quite accurate; there was about a box of each color tile we used left, and very little of the accent and trim pieces, just as one might hope. Due to a cancelation in his schedule, the work started sooner than we expected, really. He had access to our house during the day, which, while somewhat complicated, went without incident. Everything was done on schedule, the demo on the first day, the reframing of the shower area and initial plumbing work the second day, the drywall and backer board work in and around the shower the third day, touchup to be completely ready for tiling on the fourth day, the laying of tile on the fifth day, and so forth. Any delays were not of his doing. The biggest delay was due to someone closely involved with the composition of this review making a mistake with the initial tile order, requiring an emergency purchase of more materials, which took time to arrive. It has been two months since the work was done, and we are still quite satisfied with the work that was done. We might have done one thing differently, but that had nothing to do with Mr. Starling and his excellent team.

Scott Starling Custom Flooring did an excellent job. The people who did the work were very friendly, courteous and punctual. The quality of work is excellent. It really looks good.
