Description of Work: We bought our hot tub in 2002 and it only recently quit running. Nick from Alewine’s installed a new pump and fixed a leak, and it works fine now. They were prompt and easy to work with. We are very pleased with the service.

Description of Work: I was using another pool company for my service and thought I'd try Pete Alewine. They were very pleasant in store. I was testing my pool water in store and purchasing chems as needed. If I bought heavy items they were very nice to load my van with the purchased items. Once they forgot to put some thing in the van that I paid for and I didn't realize it until the following day. I went back into the store with my receipt which is rather awkward since I was new to Pete Alewine - my concern was perhaps they wouldn't believe me, but they were very nice and replaced my missing item no charge. I liked that they have a discount card so the more you purchase the more you can earn $ off future purchases. The last time I was in the store I asked if I could schedule an appt for some one to come out and clean the filter. They took my info and said some one would call me. I waited over a week and no one called. I called them, explained I had been in and made an appt and no one has called me. The lady on the phone seemed in a rush and asked who I spoke to. I said I don't know I didn't get his name. I left her my information and added while they were out to clean the filter they usually check the equipment for any problems? I can't remember word for word, but in general - well, what department do you want? Do you want some one to come out and check for problems or do you want a cleaning? It was a really weird conversation and didn't get better in the following days. I told her I was just asking that who ever they had to come out and clean the filter would just look over the equipment while they're here. I don't expect them to take a lot of time to do it - just if there was a glaring problem that I maybe couldn't/didn't see, like a gasket that needed to be replaced...or I don't know what - that it might be to their benefit to let me know, because if I had a problem it would just mean more money for your company if your the ones who fix it, right? She later called me back with a day that some one would be out. The day arrives and I think it was raining, so I figured they probably wont come out, which is fine, but no one calls to reschedule so I called them in the afternoon. Again same lady - they'll be out later. The following day I went out for a while and when I got home I checked the backyard to see if they were out. They were - and my whole filter was gone. Now I have never used a company before that took the whole filter back to the store to thoroughly deeply clean it - but I found out that's what Pete Alewine does when I called them, which is GREAT I love that they do that. Problem was I was pretty much treated like it was an imposition for me to call AGAIN and ask a question. I wasn't mad or rude when I called to find out where my filter was. I figured they had it - I was thinking maybe there was some thing wrong with it. But I was assertive in telling her it might of been nice to tell me that's what they do - I've never used them before. That didn't go well and to top it off I had to ask yet another question - when will they be back with it? Nothing went right with the gal answering the phone frankly she was just rude and I can't deal with that - I shouldn't have to. The guys who cleaned the filter for me told me it was really filthy and I don't doubt it - we cant keep up with it. After that we knew we needed a regular service to come out and maintain the pool so it wont get that bad again - it wasn't Pete Alewine. Every thing seemed good with Pete Alewine and it might be, but lacking communication and customer courtesy for who ever picks up their phone. I couldn't deal with that every time I called.

Description of Work: Having them put in an in-ground fiberglass pool. Construction has not yet started.

Description of Work: Took water sample to office and based on sample purchased supplies. During a pool school session Dan gave my wife and I detailed instructions on how to deploy chemicals. Dan was very thorough and gave us excellent insight in pool maintenance!

Description of Work: Tried multiple times to have someone to come out and teach us how to take care of our pool. Explained that my husband and both worked and that we needed to make appointment date and time. They never would schedule a time and then technician just showed up one day expecting someone to be at the house. He called my husband who explained that we were both working and couldn't leave our jobs to meet him. Attempted multiple times to schedule a specific date and time. We ended up contacting Carefree Pools and Spas. Will NEVER have Pete Alewine service our pool.

Description of Work: Hired to remove old driveway and replace. Crew showed up on time - early, even. All necessary equipment was there; hammers, jacks, skip-loader and plenty of healthy men to use them. All the "mess" of the process was removed and they even raked the yard! We now have a beautiful, crack-free, no trip hazard, driveway.
