Poor installation, poor workmanship, poor work ethic, poor communication, poor quality cabinets.

Purchased 99 bottle Wine Storage Cabinet in April, 2007 at a cost of $2,051.19 Have had problems with the design of the cabinet with improper spacing of the grids in the cabinet causing bottles to fall inside the cabinet and breaking. I shimmed the front of the cabinet to keep bottles from sliding down. I visited Looper Cabinet and Millworks Shop in July, 2014, and the Shop Foreman was not interested in discussing my problem and dismissed me. I called Charles Looper and had him visit my home on Nov. 16, 2015 to see my problem. He correctly diagnosed my problem and said that I needed to change the spacing of the grids that hold the wine bottles. I agreed to pay him to correct the problem. He told me they would pick up the cabinet on either Nov. 20th or 23rd; take it to their shop, correct the problem and return it. When nobody showed up to get the cabinet, I called them to see when they intended to come. The Millworks Shop Foreman returned my call and said they were extremely busy and hadn't been able to come by. I've called numerous times, and wrote Charles Looper on Dec. 20th. I've received no reply and called twice again with no response. I have spent over $11,000 with this company through the years and other than this problem had been satisfied with the quality of their work, but I find that their lack of interest in responding to this problem to be highly irresponsible and unprofessional. I do not recommend their work to anyone any more.

I originally contacted Looper's for an estimate on 6/4/2015. I called at 9:50 am and was told the person that handles estimates was with a customer and as soon as she finished would call me. I waited until 4:00 and called them back. I was told she went home for the day. I told them I would be out of town the next day but would like to have a call on Mon 6/8/2015. I waited all day on Monday but no one ever called. On Tuesday 6/9/2015 Deanne finally called around 2:00. I explained I wanted to have cabinets installed in my laundry room and needed to get an estimate. I told her that Looper's had installed my kitchen cabinets when my home was built and I wanted to get the same type for the laundry room. She gave me an estimate and said they required 75% up front. I told her as soon as I could make arrangements I would come to Evans. I made the required payment on 6/16/2015 and she said that the installer would be in Aiken the next day and if he could measure the room he would call me. If not, it would the the following week (no date). I waited all day on the 17th, no call. The following Monday thru Wednesday still no call. I called Deanne that day at 12:30. She said something about his schedule and it probably wouldn't be until the next week. She then said "I should have called you but didn't". No apology, I told her that three weeks to get an estimate and measurements was not acceptable and I would pick up my check. I feel everything was at their convenience and schedule, not mine. Phone calls that never came, no apologies. I grew up with a family owned business. We didn't treat customers like this. They need some lessons on customer service. One of my neighbors told me later they called Loopers several months before and Loopers never returned their call. This seems to be a habit with them. If Looper's is so busy that they do not need the business then they need to tell you upfront and not waste your time.

He installed a built-in cabinet in my old home in the early 1990's that included an entertainment center (for TV & CD Player), storage for CD's, records, & video tapes plus numerous shelves to display my wife's antique flow-blue collection. This built-in cabinet covered one wall of my den. In April, 2007, he designed and built a movable Entertainment Center for my TV & Blue Ray, Hi-Fi amplifier, CD player, Tape Player, Speakers, etc. plus CD and tape storage. This unit about covers one wall of my family room. He also built a movable Wine Storage Cabinet that holds over 130 bottles of wine. In August, 2009, he designed, built, and installed a built-in cabinet covering one wall of my formal dining room, with 12 shelves for displaying my wife's antique flow-blue collection, plus 4 covered book shelves for storage of other china and glassware. He builds quality cabinets at a fair price.
