Michael Sheahan Drywall

Michael bailed us out after 3 other contractors gave us an estimate and a scheduled start date and then ghosted us. It was a small repair due to storm damage. Michael was very professional, called every day to tell us when he was arriving, and showed up when he said he would. It was a fiddly repair, just one sheet of drywall in the ceiling, but he managed to match the texture of the existing knockdown so well it was seamless.

I contacted Mike 1/4/23 to discuss a minor drywall ceiling repair. We coordinated his arrival for the next day, 1/5/23 at 10:30am. He arrived on time, evaluated the job, gave a verbal estimate of $100 and said it was just a minor repair. I texted him 20 minutes later to advise I wanted to go ahead with the job and gave him some dates that would work for me and asked him to please advise as to how he wanted to proceed. When I did not hear back from him, I texted him the next day, 1/6/23 to ask if he’d received my prior text and asked how he wanted to proceed. He replied, “I’m sorry Scott but I won’t be able to come out and do that crack in your ceiling. My schedule has changed and I won’t have time to do it.” Upon receiving the text, I phoned him to inquire about specifics – maybe reschedule or something, but it rolled to VM. I left a message asking him to call me, but as of this posting, he has not.

Mike and his crew were very punctual, friendly and did an outstanding job. They installed the drywall and finished it in just a few days. I would definitely hire them again.

I asked Mike for a quote. While he was looking at the job, I told him that I require contractors to sign a release so that if he or his guys got hurt on the job, they would not sue my wife or me. When I did not hear back, I called and he told me that he was not interested in the job, that signing a release made him nervous. I should mention that every other contractor and sub-contractor on this job has signed a release, which, again, simply says the worker assumes the risk of injury and will not sue us if injured. If someone wants to come to your property to work but wants to be able to sue you if they get hurt doing so, beware.

Working with Mr Sheahan was a pleasure. He came on time every day he said he would, and he and his helper worked hard for long days--not a slacker! I still can't believe how smooth he got all the walls that had horrible blotchy texture on them. He is also insured, which is very important to me. I highly recommend his service.
