It went smoothly and correctly. He arrived on time, diagnosed the problem, and cleaner out the water heater where water had taken out the pilot light. Then he restarted the light.
Description of Work: Restarted pilot light on water heater. Mr. Brad Reed is a compassionate, excellent diagnostician and plumber. Hew has done work for me for years, including putting in a new water heater and sump pump.

Our shower drain was leaking to the floor below. We have a home warranty through and quot;Home Buyers Resale Warranty Corpand quot;, and they sent out Reed Contracting. The plumber resealed the shower drain with additional silicone caulk on 8/15/12. About 2 months later, it started leaking again. The same plumber came out and cut away the ceiling so he could access the plumbing below the shower, and added more silicone on 12/4/12. It started leaking again a week or two later, and a new plumber came out and said that the problem was that our shower wasn't installed on a bed of mortar, so the floor could flex and break any seal on the drain. He told us we'd have to remove the whole shower to permanently fix it. I ended up replacing the drain and haven't had a problem since (2 months now). I believe the drain was just broken, and there's no reason the flexing shower floor should cause it to repeatedly leak (it had worked for 30 years that way). I'm not a plumber, and may be wrong in this case, so I'm giving a B rating because I don't believe they were knowingly doing anything wrong, and my fix may not last. But so far so good.
Description of Work: Resealed shower drain that was leaking to the floor below for a 2nd time. On their 3rd visit, was told shower was installed improperly, and would need to tear out entire shower to make a permanent fix to our drain. I have since replaced the drain myself, and don't see any leaks, and don't believe the entire shower needed to be replaced.

I called Reed because it was one of the few off the list that specifically addressed gas line problems. An estimate of 125.00 was given to perform the work and I made an appointment for the following week. Bradley Reed showed up on time and got right to work. He disconnected both lines and capped off under the house and disconnected the lines where they ran to the heater and grill. The whole job took about 40 minutes. Because the estimate included haul off of heater and grill, the price was reduced by $30.00 when I told Bradley I would dispose of the items.
Description of Work: I planned to remove an old gas space heater and gas grill and needed the gas lines for both disconnected and the lines made safe.

I received a phone call. I then received two more calls to let me know that the tech was stuck in traffic on I285 but was on his way. Brad arrived shortly after, assessed the problem, and then let me know what work had to be done and the estimated cost. He went beyond his way to make sure the heat was working properly in the house, and he showed me the two corroded pipes he had to replace. He also went under the crawl space to figure out a problem I was having with the heat. All in all, I would definitely use this company again. The cost was very reasonable, and I feel they will come back out and honor the work if I experience any problems.
Description of Work: I had a gas pipe that had corroded outside my house. As a result, the gas company turned off the gas at my house. The pipe needed replacing before the heat could be turned back on. Brad at RCI came and replaced the pipe. This involved buying some new piping at Home Depot, digging up the corroded pipe, and replacing it. The job was well done because Brad reconfigured the new pipe to run vertically as opposed to alongside the house, making the pipe less vulnerable to corrosion from water drainage, etc. He turned on the gas furnaces and water heater for me, and then went into the crawl space to figure out why the hot air was not blowing from the downstairs vents. Brad told me up front what the cost would be. It turned to run a little bit higher because he wanted to replace another pipe that was beginning to corrode as well. He let me know this before starting the work, and I agreed that it was a good idea to do the work here, too. I found him to be very professional.

Great service. Easy to schedule. In our case he arrived exactly on-time the day after we called. We liked that he was experienced with older homes. He worked quickly and there were no variations from his estimate. Most impressive, he stayed to help us install our dryer vent, which was beyond the call of duty.
Description of Work: The cost covered four jobs for us. Removed original leaking washer faucets in 45-yr-old house and replaced with new. Expanded capacity of washer drain to accommodate water volume of new washer. Installed a gas line to accommodate a new gas dryer. Replaced drain, trap and sink pipe in kitchen. He also gave us detailed estimates on complete renovations of two bathrooms.
