Two thumbs up for Gordon's Heating and Air. I found them to be extremely responsive and easy to work with. I called the morning after our incident and they were able to come the same day. I was worried we would have to replace the entire system, but, based on his experience with similar situations, the technician started by checking the transformer in the air handler unit. Sure enough, that was the problem and the system was back up and running in 20 minutes. It would have been very easy for an unscrupulous company to take advantage of us in that situation, but fortunately for us Gordon's is an honest company, and the total cost for their emergency call and repair was one of the least expensive items on our list of damages. I will happily call them without reservation the next time we need service or repairs to our AC system. On a side note, I'm disappointed in Angie's List for letting the rant by another user stand as a negative "review", however entertaining of a read it might be. The description speaks volumes about the writer without providing any real information about the company, and, based on my personal experience, it is wildly inaccurate in its characterization of Gordon's as well.
Description of Work: We had lightning strike our home and had significant damage to electronic and electrical equipment. One of the highest priority items was the AC system, and Gordon's came highly recommended by a neighbor.

I have to call them back because something’s not working now. We are going to use them again to come out and fix whatever it is, I think it’s still under warranty. They have to come back to fix something that, our laundry room started flooding. It just seemed like they tried to go through the first time. They were nice enough and the only reason we called them because there was a coupon. If there hadn’t been a coupon I might not had called them. The did an okay job.
Description of Work: They did some repair work on our air conditioner.

Excellent! They did a great job and finished even sooner than any of us thought they would. Normally, I would say this job would take at least 6-8 hours;it took them four to four and a half hours. I have known The Gordon Family for 17 years; they used to be my neighbors. They are very respectful and professional. I wouldn't use any one else. They are a young crew but know their stuff and in my case this probably was a big plus since my inside unit is located in the attic.
Description of Work: Change-Out. They changed out old (25 year old) air conditioner/heat pump for a brand new one.

I cannot imagine why anyone would even be having someone from Eden to do their A/C work with so many capable, and RESPECTFUL companies in Savannah.
Description of Work: This is not about work I had performed by Gordon's Heating & Air. Rather, this posting reveals the shocking insolence, trespassing, and elder abuse a worker (owner??) of aforementioned company was guilty of while working in the downtown area of Savannah on the morning of April 20, 2017. I would think this is information anyone who might be considering having these workers in their home (or working with the owner of this company) would be interested in knowing. As my husband and I were getting ready to have breakfast this morning, he spotted a Gordon Htg. & AC van pull into one of our private parking spaces right below a sign which clearly states "NO parking/Private Property." In addition, 2 large video surveillance signs are in plain view . While my husband, an attorney, proceeded to go and inform the driver that he was on private property, I called to him from a second level window (see photo of me talking to this man) telling him it was private property and that he would need to move. He ignored me and proceeded to start unloading his van for a job he had in a condo across the street from us. Again, I called and told him that he was trespassing and that he was also being videoed. He snapped back that he KNEW it was private parking and that he was being videoed. He still showed no intention whatsoever of moving. During this time, my husband went up to him and told him again that he was parked on private property. He told my husband: "I know," and continued giving unloading instructions to a workman with him. After my husband had returned 2 more times, and the guy was still there, I called to him that I wasn't going to bother calling the tow truck, instead I was going to call the police and report his offenses of trespassing and verbal elder abuse of both my husband and myself. He responded something that sounded like, "Fine. Go right ahead." It was almost as if he were daring us to do anything about getting him off of our property. We could do whatever we wanted, but he wasn't moving his van until he was done. Finally, I guess he decided he didn't want to have to deal with the police, and he left. As soon as he drove off, I immediately called the company's office and the phone was answered by Denise. I told her that I would like to speak with the owner about a complaint of one of his workers, and she told me he was on a job. She asked if I would tell her what the complaint was about. I told her that since it involved a couple of offenses and that I had to call the police, I wanted to talk with the owner directly. She said she would have him call me. She then asked where they were working and what the guy with the attitude looked like, and I told her. I also told her that if I hadn't heard from him by tonight, that I would post what happened on Angie's List (which their company's Web site strongly encourage people to read their reviews on). I never heard from the owner, and so I am now wondering if the owner of Gordon's Htg. & Air (not listed on Angie's List or the company's Web site, but listed on the Sec. of State's list of GA companies) is the one who pulled into our private parking area and refused to move until I told him I was calling the police. If so, that would definitely be why he didn't return my call. And, unless I hear differently, I will continue that speculation. There were 2 other guys I also saw working across the street from us, and they appeared to be putting in a new A/C unit. I do not understand why something like this would take all day long in a small condo, but I hope they finished so they won't be back tomorrow. Nevertheless, I definitely would not want any of these guys in my home with such unprofessional demeanor, a total lack of respect for the property of others, and ones who verbally abuse elderly citizens without hesitation. I will also be warning non-Angie List members on various other online review sites.

HE NEVER LEFT THE VEHICLE AND WAS LITERALLY THERE FOR LESS THAN 5 MINUTES WHILE THE CREW GOT THE MATERIALS FROM THE VAN. SHE ([Member Name Removed]) WAS YELLING FROM A WINDOW FOR HIM TO MOVE THE VAN FROM THERE AND THE TECHNICIAN TOLD HER HE WOULD BE GONE IN JUST A MINUTE. THERE WAS NO WHERE TO PARK ON THIS BUSY STREET AND SHE SIMPLY WOULD NOT ACCEPT THAT THE VAN WOULD BE MOVED IN A COUPLE OF MINUTES. WE UNDERSTAND THAT WE ALL CAN HAVE A BAD DAY EVERY NOW AND THEN AND ARE TRULY SORRY THAT WE HAPPENED TO BE THERE ON THAT DAY. WE NEVER MEANT TO BOTHER OR UPSET ANYONE, AND CERTAINLY WOULD NEVER SPEAK TO ANYONE IN AN ABUSIVE WAY. It was fine. Everything went fine with that. He looked at it and said the unit was fine. Not really much to say on that, a very short visit there just to look at it. I thought he was on time and he was just very out-front. He didn't do anything that didn't need to be done or anything. That was a good deal that's why I purchased it. He was very professional. I think he worked next door. Somewhere around the neighborhood is where I got his name.
Description of Work: I had a big deal purchase with GORDON'S HEATING & AIR from Angie's List for second opinion HVAC diagnosis. I just wanted to make sure that everything was done well after I had it done.

When I called the office, as usual (I've used them before), someone was here within a couple of hours. It was on a Thursday afternoon. They had a brand new system in, and up and running the following Monday. I felt very comfortable that they knew exactly what to do and what was needed! I thank God that the little original hvac made it through that blistering August. And I'm also very thankful for my brand new awesome, system! I will always use Gordon's, as I have complete trust in them! And the lady who answers the phone has ALWAYS been so very kind and concerned. That means a lot to me. when the guys finished, everything was so cleaned up outside and inside, you'd have never guessed what just went on ! Awesome company!

Tech Mike Turner showed up very punctually. So punctually in fact that he caught me off guard. I'm not used to home service techs showing up until towards the end of the appointment time. Mike was very professional and knew a lot about his field. I am a bit of a technical person and ask a lot of questions about what the person is looking for and what not. Mike answered everyone of my questions with a confidence that made me feel very comfortable with the service I was getting. I will be calling upon Gordon's Heating and Air again. The only ones I trust in the low country with my HVAC system.

I was told on May 19 by Mike Turner the tech person from Gordon that someone would be at my house at 7:30 or 8:30. I took pushed several customers back so I could get this done. Nobody came to the house at 7:30 nor 8:30. I get a call from Denise person that works for Gordon telling me that they where short an empolyee and that are running behind. I explain to her that i pushed customer aside to stay at home to get this done. She did apologize for that but still didn't help my case. Told her that i wanted a refund for the money that i had paid and she said that she had to call the owner. The owner called me back and he also apologized for not being for me being told that. He also went on to say that why did i give him such a small window to do it. I explain to him that I was not told how long that it would take. I finally told the owner I wanted to refund for the money that i had already paid. I want my money back i know now not to deal with certain people and Gordon Heating is one that are slack. I will be filing a BBB report If I don't get my money today and getting my lawyer involved. I should not have to do this for such poor service. I'm not going to follow Angie's list anymore. I would have done better using the yellow pages
Description of Work: Gordon heating was suppose to install a coil in my ac unit that went bad. I talked with Mike Turner and he told me that the would set an appointment up a time between 7:30 and 8:30 from them to come out and install the coil on May 26,2015. I told him that was good so I paid them the price for the Job on May 19,2015.

I deeply apologize for any miscommunication that occurred with this customer, however he was refunded his money that was paid for the coil replacement. I don't know why he thought we would be there at 7:30 am when we do not open until 8:00 am and I am not sure why he thought that this would somehow be a quick fix or something.Our techs are very informative and would have explained that the process would take a few hours to complete. I also explained to him that occasionally things come up that are beyond our control like having an employee out unexpectedly and I called him to make him aware of what was going on so that he could plan also. We are not perfect but we do strive to be our very best each day and greatly value the faith our customer place in us!

I had an ADVO coupon for the price. This was the second time I used this company - prior was routine maintenance for warm season. It's a small company. The 2 techs who came were very friendly & respectful. They seemed thorough, cleaned and tested the unit, and gave me a report showing the values of the items they checked. They tried to sell me other services and items for preventive care which I didn't purchase, but they weren't pushy about it.

This is a copy of the letter that was sent to the Owner of the Company... I can't express enough how highly I reccommend them. Mr. Gordon, I wanted to write to you and tell you how impressed I was with Ryan and Shane today. I called yesterday in reference to our split system (Goodman) which kept freezing up. Ryan called me back yesterday and was very professional and offered to come and fix the system on his weekend. I told him we could make it last for a day or two and asked him to schedule a service call during working hours. I was very impressed when Ryan and Shane were at my house today first thing. They were both very polite and professional and represented your company and your family very well. The system was diagnosed thoroughly and a very reasonable quote was provided. Ryan informed me about your service plan and sold me on a plan for the main split system. The repair was completed in a timely manner and their quality control check of the system was excellent. During the QC Ryan found that the compressor capacitor was weakening and offered to replace it. Shane replaced the capacitor while Ryan completed the paperwork. Your billing system is excellent and the prices were very reasonable. I will be calling you soon to start a service plan on our mini-split in or sun room and also will need an attic ventilation fan installed in the spring. I will be leaving you a very positive review on Angie's List and asked Shane for some business cards to pass out around the neighborhood or at work. Thank you for providing such excellent service. Description of Work: Replaced worn out suction line drier on heating & air system. Recharged & tuned ENTIRE system. Found problems left by other companies in the past. Some things were missing, some things were not connected, they coombed the system inside & out with a fine tooth comb. Offers a terrific service plan.

Very good! They did determine that there were a couple of areas that were rusting through, allowing the coolant to leak out. This caused the unit to continually run, but not cool as it should. We were given all the information we needed to make an informed decision of what to do. We did have coolant added to get the system going, as we didn't know at the time how fast the leak was. We did decide to put a new unit in.
Description of Work: Evaluated our a/c system to diagnose any problems causing it to not cool correctly.

We've been renting the house we are in for 3 years. We've had other companies come out but Gordon's tops them all in pricing and service. Gordon's (Denise) has always been professional, super prompt and courteous. She has never treated us any different because we do not own the house. They usually come the same day we call, unless we happen to call later in the afternoon. I called today around noon and she told me someone would be there between 12-2. It is rare when you get service like that. I don't know what the specific charges were to the homeowner but I have comparatively priced between Gordon's and another company my boss uses and Gordon's was a lot cheaper. Their response is a lot faster as well. I highly recommend Gordon's.

He is a friend and an ex-neighbor. He did something as a favor to us. He is very good, honest person, and a hard worker. He comes out as soon as he can to fix whatever problem we have. If he can he will tell you when or he will recommend somebody else. Sometimes he is on vacation and he would recommend other people. So, he knows other people that he trust. He subcontracts sometimes, I think. He is fair. The quality of his work is excellent. He doesn't live here anymore, but they still use them. He fixes my neighbors air-conditioner. He will answer any questions you have. If you are knowledgeable sometimes he will tell you what to do. So, he doesn't have to come out there or you don't have to pay him. I don't think anybody would be displeased with him. We got a 21 year old aid-conditioner.
Description of Work: Gordon's Heating and Air fixed parts on the air-conditioner. He also had something to do with our plumbing.
