Description of Work: We have used Shumate for many years as our basic HVAC maintenance provider. They check the heating and cooling systems in our house every six months or so. When I first signed up for Angie's List I wanted to check if they were well rated by others in the metro Atlanta area. They are well rated and we continue to use them.

Description of Work: I had my 18 year old HVAC system replaced. The salesman spent considerable time explaining the system I had and the system he was recommending for its replacement. I had two quotes from other contractors and he was willing to negotiate the price for an upgraded unit to match the prices I had received for a smaller (2 ton) unit. He came back to monitor the installation and made sure I received all the equipment and upgrades that we had agreed on. I am very pleased with the price, quality and installation I received.

Description of Work: Replaced multiple AC and furnaces. They arrived with a large experienced team that worked very well together and got a very large job done in a single day. Excellent work.

Description of Work: When I arranged for our HVAC ductwork to be cleaned, Shumate did not tell me that they used a sub-contractor. So, when a truck from Air Quality Systems of Norcross, GA, pulled into our driveway, we were a bit surprised. Also, I had to call Shumate to confirm the appointment rather than their office calling me. The subcontractor staff were very nice and did a good job; however, the process could have been much smoother.

Description of Work: They replaced a pipe but neglected to mention what else needed to be done to make the furnace run safely. I contacted another service provider (Spectrum Gad Solutions) recommended by the gas company (Atlanta Gas & Light) to confirm that the unit was safe to operate. They pointed out a number of things that needed to be repaired. I would have expected Shumate to have done this. (Note: Spectrum did not offer to perform the necessary services but suggested that we discuss the problems with Shumate.)

Description of Work: This is the amount one service visit runs if you take an annual preventive service agreement.
