They are excellent. They are always on time. They are very helpful and always explain what they are doing.

Hot water stopped working one morning, called Shumate around 10 am and the service tech, Jason, was out by 2 pm same day. It turned out to be a complicated problem and he stayed until 10 pm that night in order to make sure we had hot water, leaving once to pickup a few parts from their warehouse. We were very impressed with his dedication to finding and correcting the problem.

We pay them a yearly fee and they come out twice a year. They are great all the way around. They actually installed our heating and air conditioner. They were very professional then, all the way from their salesperson that came out to the people that installed it. We have used them ever since to come out twice a year. They always remind us when it is time to get the maintenance done. They set up appointments and call us the night before to remind us that they are coming. They always come right on time. They are just a great company. We will absolutely use them in the future. We are not sure about the price but we would pay them whatever they asked.

They informed the noise was normal and a repair was not necessary. I feel I got what I paid for, but they did show up about 45 minutes late to the appointment.

Called for an estimate to compare against three others I had already received. Their service rep came out and looked over the defunct unit, gave some unit recommendations and wrote up estimates for two different recommended units. He also discussed options for servicing in the future, the warranty, and also provided some info about our heating units as we have an older home and will probably need additional replacements in the near future. After discussing pros and cons with my spouse and comparing his estimates with our other three , we made a decision on which unit we wanted to go with and were able to schedule the replacement for that weekend. The serviceman arrived promptly, completed the job, tested everything, cleaned up after himself and was done within 3 hours. Their price was good, service excellent and we are satisfied.

They were very responsive, called ahead before coming, and showed up within the time frame promised. My systems were previously under contract with a different company, so they are checked every year. I did ask the Shumate person to be thorough and he was. He suggested several things I should have done. And, while they seemed to make sense, I felt like I was being upsold the whole time. Everything I needed was either on sale, or would be cheaper if I had it done right away rather than waiting until the A/C checkup next spring. And their default behavior is to replace the high-efficiency filters (at $45 each) once a year, even if a visual inspection doesn't indicate they need replacing. This seemed odd to me. So, while I have no specific complaints, I'm undecided as to whether I would contract with them again.

They are pretty easy to get a hold of. I have been using them for about 15 years. Whenever I call them, they come on time. I have to schedule them for the maintenance call and they come within 48 hours.

They are very responsive and have always been prompt. They are professional and the quality of their work is good. I have been very satisfied with their service.

Job was done as contracted and on time with a significant savings. The personnel were professional. Not sure you can ask any more than that.

A six hour appointment window was set, but when the service person arrived they did not have the parts for our units on their truck and indicated that it was not possible to get them there that day, and that we would have to have a return appointment. At that time, we called the office and asked if we could cancel the visit. They quite professionally agreed to do so.

It is the most quiet unit we've ever had, and it is very efficient. They did a great job. They come to service the unit every season.

They are knowledgeable, prompt, reliable and clean.

Shumate advertises heavily on local radio stations and billboards. They do quality work at competitive prices, my only beef is the breakdown in communication between the office/scheduling department and me. The technicians have always been prompt, professional, and courteous. (1) We returned from our vacation in June to a hot house. The upstairs thermostat read 102 degrees. It took one solid week before we had a/c upstairs again. I was disappointed because we are maintenance agreement customers who supposedly receive "priority service" and in my opinion, I should not be told we have to wait "because we have another a/c unit." The condenser install went without a hitch and the unit performs just fine. The price quoted was also quite good. (2) Scheduling fall service was interesting. I had to wait nearly a month for a technician to service my units - and this was prepaid service. When I questioned the waiting time, the agent informed me that they could have someone out to repair my unit the next day, if I had a problem. (Can't the repair person perform routine maintenance if there's downtime????)(3) Our fall service technician recommended some repairs, which we elected to do while I was off for Christmas break. We scheduled the repairs for Monday 12/22, which I confirmed the preceding Friday. No repair person showed up Monday by noon, so I began calling to see where he was. Seems the parts never came in and no one bothered to call and tell me. The repair estimate was almost $650.00. With the economic slowdown, you'd think they'd want to make sure the work was going to be completed so they could get the revenue. I will schedule the spring service with Shumate as it is part of the maintenance agreement and has already been paid for. However, if customer service continues to operate in such a disconnected fashion, I will look elsewhere for a heating & ac service company.

They were clean and knew what they were talking about. They do not try to sell anything. They worked with me to buy a longer term maintenance on parts and labor. They installed everything and followed up to make sure everything was working correctly. I am really impressed with the technician that came out.

Estimate, procurement of parts and repair was very quick. They offered several options, but didn't try to convince us to buy a whole new furnace.

I think I described it in the above question but they arrived 3 hours late with a bad attitude and I continued to get a bad attitude when I called the office and spoke to Christopher. Their a/c was only slightly more expensive than another quote but because of the treatment I received on the phone I decided to not renew my yearly maintenance and to use another contractor for a new a/c.

Shumate did a great job with all the work and provided excellent support and quality control. I was so happy that I have the company do semi-annual inspections of the heating and AC units.

Working with Shumate was a great experience. Contrary to another bid we'd sought, they were willing to replace only the AC if we had wanted to go that route, telling us honestly that our old furnace was still in satisfactory condition. They reassured me that our desired work (furnace, AC and air cleaner, plus possible zoning) could be performed in any order at any time and did not need to be bundled into a single job. Nonetheless, we elected to replace everything, saving only zoning for possible later installation. We accepted their proposal around 5 p.m. on Tuesday and they were at our home, ready to install, just before 8 a.m. on Thursday. By 2 p.m. they were finished and the job site was clean. My house is blessedly cool again and I couldn't have asked to work with a more professional and responsive company. Everyone from the person who answered my initial phone call through the Production Supervisor who checked the work at completion could not have been friendlier, kinder or more helpful.

They came and checked to see what was wrong with the unit, came back and replaced the part, and everything has been working smoothly. They were prompt, and I have no complaints.

They were very friendly when they were there working. They take off there shoes when they come into the house. They are very professional about the job.

This is the second time that Shumate could have easily sold me an expensive new HVAC system due to a/c malfunction, but instead found a small problem that was solved with a normal service call. I have a fairly old system in a 1958 house that I bought 4.5 yrs ago, so I don't know when the thing is going to breath its last breath. I'm a single woman with low mechanical skills and I don't like to take the time to deal with multiple estimates, but nor am I rich enough to pay for things I don't need. That's why I feel strongly about recommending someone who has proven trustworthy. The first time my a/c stopped working about 2 years ago, the rep found a blown fuse which he promptly replaced. This time - over Memorial Day weekend, my a/c kept running and running. When I looked at it, I saw that a lot of condensate had built up under the unit. I also realized the filter was almost completely clogged (I was way past due for a checkup, but had kept putting off calling, and it was my fault for letting the filter go so long). The condenser had apparently frozen which shut the unit off. However, I let several hours go by, but the a/c never kicked back on. Shumate scheduled me as fast as they could, but I still had to wait several days without air conditioning. When the rep came for the visit, he found that I had left the door off. The door had a kill switch. Had I simply replaced the door, it would have worked again. He did a normal PM check, found that I did not need freon (which they also could have sold to me without me being the wiser), I paid my $86 and he was on his way. When Shumate does tell me that I need a new system, I will be able to trust their report. They'll definitely have my business. I'm also in the middle of getting privacy fencing installed due to neighbor's complaint about my dogs as well as a new septic system, neither of which is in my budget. I deeply appreciate not having another multi-thousand dollar expense at the moment.

I obtained bids from 4 reputable (thank you, Angie's List) companies. All of the bidders were within $200 of each other, so I chose on the basis of service and the ratings of the products (Carrier, Amana, and Trane) each company offered. I chose Shumate. The sales engineer arrived on time, spent 30 minutes under my house, and explained his quote item by item. While he was at my house, he also fixed a room air conditioner at no charge! His product information package also included the form to send to GA. Power for an energy rebate of $300, which nobody else even mentioned. He helped me decide between an 80% efficient system and a 90%, considering how long I will keep this house. Very helpful!!! The installer arrived on time; the 5-man crew had it installed and tested within 3 hours and cleaned up all debris. I have received 2 follow-up calls since, and it works perfectly. I highly recommend them.

They claim to stand behind their work and they do. I went out for 4 bids. They were competitive but not lowest price. I selected them because of their reputation and professionalism. The work was promptly scheduled and completed but unknown to either of us for a few days, they accidentally broke a drain pipe during the installation process and water leaked into my basement ceiling, a fancy closet and under the wood floor. They took care of all of the repairs (est. $3000-4000) at no additional cost to me and without a hassle.
