We scheduled the work for the next week. The technicians arrived early (7:50am) and worked till around 3:30-4pm. They did an excellent job and made an uncomfortable day (high 90's) go as smoothly as possible. The new units are working well and are so quiet I can't tell they're running. We are very pleased with the service and the product provided.

Originally called to have new thermostat replaced because we thought there was a problem with existing one. However, on day of scheduled service, we discovered what problem was with thermostat and no longer needed replacing. Decided to instead just have a check-up and cleaning on the A/C. They ran a bit behind from the scheduled time, but did call to keep me updated on arrival. Our tech Scott was extremely professional and personable. He did a very thorough job and took the time to explain different things about the A/C. I felt I could trust him and didn't feel like someone was trying to "upsell" me or encourage unnecessary repairs. I was very happy with the service provided and would use again (and would ask specifically for Scott).

They have a reputation and they are going to stay in business. I spent around $2000 on that work. It was warranty repair. I think they are experts in their field.

I don’t know how much we spent. My husband takes care of most of the things. We are satisfied with their services. They do our maintenance service and everything’s good. They were timely, efficient and knowledgeable. We would use their services again in the future.

After we got an horrible price from another contractor, my brother recommended Shumate. They can in with a full estimate, did an excellent job installing new airconditioner including cleaning up any mess and hauling away the old equipment. We will be using them for our yearly contract services now.

Shumate provided a very competitive quote to replace two entire HVAC systems for my home. Each system included furnace and air handling and outdoor A/C condenser. In addition Shumate replace existing fiber board manifolds with more efficient sheet metal. The two crews showed up on time, removed all existing components and put in new and had the new system working by mid afternoon.

It was amazingly top notch. They were punctual and friendly.

We've been using them for 15 years. They have a service with a contract for $199 a year where they guarantee that they will come within a very, very reasonable time if there is a problem. It also offers where they will come to check our system twice a year; once before cooling and once before heating. They always go out of their way to make sure that the charges are right and that the work is done well. The guy who made the quote when he came out was mistaken and they apologized and said that it wasn't going to cost that much because we are one of their service customers. We will absolutely continue to use them.

I was the first appointment of the day, and the serviceman arrived exactly on time. He looked and conducted himself with professionalism. He did inspections and filter exchange and explained the lack of freon in the airconditioning system. He gave me choices for trying to determine the origin of the leak of the freon before refilling the system. None of the news was great about the airconditioner but I feel he gave me his best advice and did not push me in anyway to have services done that I may not want or need. I was getting called from my office and I asked him if he could let me pay him and allow me to get to work. He did not seem keen on the idea, but did agree and he locked the door behind him and left the key as I had instructed him. I would not have done this except for his professionalism and the reputation of Shumate heating and air--and of course, the recommendations from Angie's list.

From beginning to end it was a seamless experience. The salesman showed up on time, provided options and pricing and clearly explained each. I made the decision and he scheduled the work before he left. The install crew showed up on time and changed out everything in about half the time I was expecting. They took the time to explain the new system and make recommendations for maintaining it. They left my home as they found it... except that the AC and Heat are now working beautifully. I would recommend them to anyone.

I have not had any problems with them and they did a great job. I will use their services in future.

They are very easy to work with. Their prices are very competitive. They are timely. Every technician that has come out has been very knowledgeable of the systems. They are very easy to do business with.

Jeff talked at length on the phone with me and said he would send someone out to inspect the unit and test the carbon monoxide levels. Jeff said he would give us a second opinion at no charge. The technician came, inspected the furnace and checked each vent in house for any carbon monoxide levels throughout the house and attic. He was very thorough and found no problem. Jeff was very compassionate to my concerns and did not make me feel that my fears were unfounded. I will definitely use Shumate again and recommend their services to others.

Easy to set an appt. A few days before the appt, I got my electric bill and realized something was really wrong since it had gone up 500% over the last month's bill. I called Shumate to ask if they would sent someone experienced out to my home for the maintenance visit. I did this since I am assuming that you start in the field in training, move to maintenance and then to repairs. I wanted to see if I could get a "seasoned" maintenance person. I was assured that the gentleman who was coming had "been with the company for a long time" and was very experienced. Paul showed up within the 5 hour appointment window. He hooked up a meter to the unit to measure output, then used his handheld device to check other things and was done within 15 minutes. He told me my unit was working as expected. I was under the impression that I had a heat pump. It may have been a communication error, but he didn't correct my assumption. I asked him if that was all he was going to do for $80 and he said yes, that he was not going to look at the outside portion of the unit but that was only done for the A/C maintenance. I was not very pleased but he said there was not much maintenance to perform on my type of unit. I then talked to my neighbors whose bills were half my bill even though I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND SET THE HEAT ON 55 DEGREES. I started thinking that maybe my unit was running in Emergency Mode all the time which is what heat pumps do when it gets really cold. I called my home warranty company to come out and paid another $60 to find out that I have an all electric heater, not a heat pump. If Shumate had explained it this way, I would never have called another company. BTW, Paul has been with Shumate for 1.5 years. If that's "a long time", then Shumate has some serious employee turnover issues. I have never written a bad review on Angie's List before since I am so careful about picking companies who have good reputations. This experience upsets me. No one can afford to waste money in this day and time and I feel Shumate cost me $60. They also had a coupon on Angie's List that did NOT say it was for repair visits only and they would not honor it.

Their estimate was $1000 less than the other one I got and they were installing the new system the next day. The guy who came to give the estimate had his laptop and printer with him so I got the estimate about 20 minutes after he showed up. All in all, it was a stellar experience.

Everything went fine. There was one glitch that they had gotten the wiring off. They had to come back out and resolve it, and they wanted to charge 50% of the service call, but I felt since it was their mistake they should cover it. We did end up getting it worked out.

When I needed to have my heat pump replaced I called several companies including Shumate. My call to Shumate was put on hold 3 times and transfered 4 times before I actually got to the person that they said I needed to speak with. When I got to the right person I got a voice mail and left a message that I no longer required a call back. The service i received was nothing at all like the radio add that I hear often while driving to work and back. I was able to find a company through Angie's List that did a great job.

This company is amazing! Yesterday, I got home from work around 5:30 pm to a very cold house....my thermostat read 52 degrees F and there was no warm air coming from the vents. Low's were in the 20's last night. My system is very old and I imagined nothing but very bad news. I went to Angie's list and based on the reviews I called Shumate... They were at my home by 7 PM and my heat was back on before 8PM and the repair only cost $150 plus the very reasonable service fee of $79. I am signing up for regular maintenance checks with Shumate. Our A/C started blowing only warm air during the hot days of August. We called Shumate on a Saturday morning and they said that they would have someone to us that afternoon. Sure enough, they called when someone was on their way so we had notice of went to expect the repairmen. The gentleman who assisted us was quick and thorough as explained the problem to us. Within 30 minutes of his arrival our house was starting to cool down. I was impressed that they sent someone from the other side of the Atlanta metro area to us on a Saturday, and we were very thankful for their work!

Service person arrived on time, was very professional and had a good attitude. I described the problem and he promptly went to work. Discovered the issue in a short amount of time, filled both units with the proper amount of freon and made some suggestions on how to keep my aging unit working a little longer. Service fee was competitive but not cheap. I will continue to use this company for all my A/C and heating needs.

Tim was excellent. He was prompt, on-time and very knowledgeable. We were worried the unit was about to give out but he explained that because of the design and age of our unit that it was working as best it could. He didn't try to sell us services or try to get us to purchase a new unit. When the time comes for a replacement we will call.

Outstanding! Fast (apporx 6 hrs), quiet, VERY CLEAN. I don't necessarily go for the lowest bid, but consider all other aspects of the job as well. Of four bids, they were not only the lowest, but made the best, most understandable presentation. Was the only to include adding returns using more efficient materials.
