They always do a good job!

.These guys are the best. They are prompt and thorough and don't oversell. I very much like them and highly recommend them.

I tried to call Shumate before Christmas as requested to set up this service and was kept on hold for 15 to 20 minutes before I spoke with someone, and today, when a voicemail asked me to respond to confirm the service, I was again kept on hold for a long time. The lady who owns/ fronts the place, Sandy Shumate, continues to tell you how important your business is to them but they can't seem to get it together to provide the service. I bought 3 new furnaces and air conditioners from them two years ago (close to $15,000) but I wouldn't use them again, and, after the last two calls to them, I would never recommend them to anyone else.

It was very good. They checked it all out and made sure it had enough freon and that sort of thing.

They were good, with a good price and good service. We were very pleased.

I was not impressed, they did find issues and wanted to find outstanding prices. They came up with an issue and later after hours of being here they changed it and said it would be a different amount, it was definitely not was what I was expecting for good and effective service.

Everyone at Shumate was very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and polite. They were responsive, fast, reliable and easy to work with. An appointment was scheduled, confirmed, and kept as promised. I would definitely use Shumate in the future and recommend them to others.

14-point A/C Tune-up. Technician cleaned condenser coils & that's it. I gave the technician a new air filter...found it unopened next to the air handler!!

I'd never dealt with Shumate but seeing their reviews on Angie's List I called them to get a competitive quote for a replacement furnace. The 13 year old furnace on the main level of my home was failing and needed to be replaced based on an assessment from the company currently providing maintenance on it. I got a quote for new unit from the company handling my maintenance. I needed a competitive quote so I called Shumate sales. They sent John out the same day I called, at 6 p.m. to accommodate my work schedule. John was professional and informative and really provided the information I needed to make a decision on a new furnace. He also let me know about 0% 36 month financing offered by Shumate through Wells Fargo. He said they could be out the next day to install if I wanted to move that quickly (I'd woken up twice this week to a cold house!). At the same time I did not feel pressured to make a decision. John recommended a mid-line Lennox Elite unit and a replacement for my Aprilaire air cleaner which was falling apart. He also quoted a new 3" PVC flue vent to replace the 2" currently in place which the salesman from the other company hadn't bothered to include in the quote. John explained some of the higher end options like the unit with variable speed motor and an optional wi-fi thermostat. I told him I was not interested due to cost. I appreciated having the options presented however - something the other company's sales person did not discuss with me. I called John the next morning, Friday, to let him know I wanted to move forward. He got the paperwork in motion and was able to schedule the install for the next day, Saturday morning at 8 a.m. The crew came out on schedule and had the new unit up and running in about two-and-a-half hours. The installers were cordial, did the work I hired them to do and even patched up some insulation which was falling off one of the ducts. They left the work area clean and free of debris. I would definitely recommend Shumate to anyone looking for a new heating/air conditioning system.

Awesome, I will definitely use this company again in the future for any problems/concerns and general maintenance for my heater / A/C unit.

It went great and the A/C units and HVAC system worked very well for the rest of the summer and early fall.

Good price, guys showed up on time, they installed the new HVAC quickly. No complaints there. The problem is what happened the day after. We smelled gas. We called Shumate and the man on the phone said condescendingly "What do you want me to do about it?" We "suggested" they send somebody out to investigate immediately. They sent their man, Tino, out to see us the following day. Tino called my wife crazy and said he couldn't smell any gas inside or out. We called the gas company and they came out, the gas man identified the problem when he was 20 feet away and his little gas sniffing machine went off too. He said that somebody had "popped the regulator" by turning the valve too quickly. Shumate claimed they never touched the regulator but I'm not clear how they could have installed a gas heating system without shutting off the gas (this is an old house and there was no internal gas shutoff valve until recently). In any case, my main issue is that their man did not identify a potentially dangerous gas leak and called us crazy for suggesting there was one.

They didn't show up for the appointment. When I called to ask why they made me work from home and then didn't show up, their answer was that they mistakenly scheduled me for the next day. Usually, service providers are at their best when they come to give you an estimate/quote to earn your business. While they offered to reschedule the appt for later in the day or the next day, I can't miss an entire day at work just because I need a quote from this company. There are many others in the area. If they messed up the scheduling for the estimate, it's pretty likely their service will be lousier.

We had purchased a big deal for the service, and it went well.

Great --- folks came on time (for estimate and installation) and did work as detailed in estimate. Installers arrived on time, worked efficiently and quietly (I live in an apartment/condo), and cleaned up before they left.

I think I just got lucky, they were really busy and they actually send out their troubleshooter. He was very informative and I learned a lot about A/C. I'm so impressed with their service and I'm going to sign an annual maintenance to them. They came out twice, I have a heat pump and A/C. I got good service on both of it, they came out and cleaned the coil. Actually, both of them had a small leak and they were able to put a sealant in there. They feel quite confident that it would last for years, maybe indefinitely because the leak were small and the gas that they put in there stays in the system and anytime it makes contact with air, it forms the seal. They were prompt, they did what they said they would do, they were polite, and the prices are fare.

It went well. We had our initial visit with Tommy, our salesman, back in early July. He was professional, patient and very easy to work with. For various reasons, we delayed our purchase until September. When I got back in touch with Tommy, he picked up right where we left off. He verified the quote was still good -- actually was able to knock off another $500 -- and sent out an updated one right away. Their price was already competitive for the type of system we got, but with the extra money he knocked off, plus the 3-yr interest-free financing, it was a good deal. The installation was scheduled 2 days later, and went perfectly smooth. The install technicians were equally punctual, friendly and professional. They explained what they needed to do and about how long it would take. By mid-morning, they thought it would take about an extra hour from their first estimate -- they were installing the furnace in a tight crawl space -- and they let me know right away. Sure enough, they finished right when they said they would. Before leaving, they double-checked everything, and (since I was willing) took me under the house to show me first-hand exactly what they had done. They also showed me how to change the filter (which I should only have to do annually), and made sure I didn't have any questions before leaving. Overall, I'm very pleased with the service.

It turned out very good. There was no extra charge for the service. It was a very very good experience. I was very satisfied with it. I have had no issues with the unit since they did the job.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service and it went great. He was right on time and called to say he was on his way. I thought his work was very professional. He gave me an estimate of repairs that had to be done and he broke it down by price. He told me what was most important and what I could wait on. The serviceman was very trustworthy and I have nothing but good things to say about it. He is going to come out and do the repairs next week. He charged me a reasonable price above the Big Deal price for the couple of parts that he put on after the inspection.

When we moved to our home several years ago, it required a replacement of the HVAC systems. After interviewing several companies we decided on Shumate. They were not the lowest bid, but they were the most knowledgeable. After installation we had a few issues with the duct work and they made the repairs on a timely basis. They install good products and have impeccable service. We are Shumate customers for life!
