Shumate Air Conditioning & Heating

At this time I am reviewing their proposal for a new AC unit. I will review again if I purchase from Shumate.

.They did very good work and worked hard.

The service was okay. The reason I say it was just okay, is because I thought they would do more than they did, but they seemed to have just done the bare minimum. The interaction with them was good. The person came out on time, and I was talking to them, but the work turned out just okay. It was just maintenance, it wasn't a repair or anything. I can't give any feedback on if it made a difference or not.

I called Shumate on Tuesday evening and got an appointment to have our AC checked out on Thursday. Our furnace needed to be replaced so they sent an engineer out the next day to give me an estimate. They completed the work the very next day. Everyone from Shumate was wonderful. Even when issues arose, they handled everything professionally and got the job done. Since our hot water heater was pretty old, we had them replace it at the same time as the furnace. The next day (Sunday) the pipe at the top of the water heater began to leak. They had someone out within an hour to repair. Will definitely use Shumate in the future!

Arrived on time and was very professional. Diagnosed the problem and had the AC unit working quickly.

It went fine. He did try to upsale me.

They could have made up any reason for my A/C not working but he found the defective switch, replaced it for $15.00 and did the tune up for the $65.00 ticket I purchased. Awesome experience.

They did good work. They are a good quality company. They were punctual. Their prices were okay.

I think they are on Angie's List. I highly recommend them. I've dealt with the same guy over the years. I've run in to him personally and he's very friendly. He's very knowledgeable about his job. Even when I've seen him off duty he's very friendly. Even the staff that I hadn't dealt with that came out to replace the A/C were very professional. They laid down mats all over the carpet so they didn't dirty the house. They did a real good job and everything was neat. Everything was cleaned up after they got done. There wasn't a speck of dirt or anything after they got done. Their price was average. I've called other companies and their price was pretty much about the same. They have always been on time.

They will not install systems unless purchased from them - even if you agree to waive the warranty.

Swift Tyler showed up on time. He was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable. Although there wasn't anything he could do, he explained how AC worked and why it was hotter in the bedroom. I had been sleeping with the door closed to keep my cat out, this is a no-no, since there isn't a return in the bedroom. We talked through several options, some were cost prohibitive. He did suggest replacing the lower panel of the bedroom door with a screen of some sort, so the air would still flow and keep the cat out He wasn't in a hurry and seemed genuinely to want to help me figure this out. I would hire Shumate again, just because of Swift!

I contacted Shumate requesting HVAC replacement estimate and they were at my door within 2 hours from initial call. Richard and I walked through project and he was very polite, knowledgeable, and presented many options we could choose based on what we wanted. We ultimately selected to have our aging AC and furnace replaced. We had already received a few quotes from other highly reviewed Angie's list HVAC companies and Shumate was the most competitive. The fact they offered 36 months same as cash financing made the decision a no-brainer. The install team arrived before the agreed window but respectfully waited until 8am before knocking on the door. The entire replacement/install process was easy and seamless. The system was running by 10:45am and they were out the door without leaving anything behind. Highly recommend and will be using them in the future.

They were flexible. My husband mainly dealt with them and was pleased with the work.

They provided a comprehensive estimate right then and there. While this was the first estimate we'd gotten, it was within what we expected. When he said they could install in 2 days, we signed the contract. Within our price expectations, punctual with appointments, professional, rated #1 on Angie's List, AND supported of public radio - what's not to like? Two days later, we had a completely installed, perfectly functioning, well-guaranteed, high-efficiency HVAC system, without a trace of any "installation residue" or other leftovers from an installation like this. We could be any more pleased at the price, quality of workmanship, products, and the overall professionalism of Shumate.

It went pretty well. They were professional.

We have used them for 20 years. They are great. Anytime we ever had a problem, they are here immediately. There are people that come in and they cover their shoes with foot covers. They are professional and on time. They call and make the appointment for when they are coming. They call when they are on the way. I've never had anything but extremely professional representative of that company in my house. Their pricing is also fair and honest.

Excellent service. The serviceman was on time, knowledgeable and did a great job. Would recommend and use again. Very friendly!

Great service and on time

People who will hire them can expect that they will get a thorough examination of their equipment and they can feel confident that it's going to work after they leave. I've been using them since 1996. They come out the same day that you ask them to and they are on time.

I called three companies to get a quote for this service. The other two told me what it would cost for someone to come to the house and give me an estimate ($70 and $100). They had no one I could talk to in the office about what to expect. When I called Shumate, instead of giving me a price for an estimate, they put me through to the person in charge of residential gas line installations. I had a lot of questions about what to expect and he patiently answered all of them. When I asked about price, he said that it would depend on what they found when they got here (which I understand), but that I should expect at least $500 - he just did not want me to be surprised. He told me they would be happy to do the job, but it was up to us to decide how much we wanted to switch to gas from electric. We thought about it for a month, then decided to move forward. We ordered the oven and I called Shumate. I spoke to the same person and he said that he remembered our conversation. The oven was being delivered in two weeks, but he sent someone to my house the next day to look around and give me a quote. The person that came to my house was on-time, professional and talked me through exactly what they would do, which included replacing an old pipe that was rusting and installing new line. The installer came exactly when they were supposed to (between 8 and 9 AM) and did everything in two hours.

I paid extra to have them add more freon in part of the unit. They scheduled the appointment very promptly. He was on time for the appointment, professional and answered all of our questions. The service overall was good.

I called another air conditioning places and they actually referred me to Shumate Air Conditioning & Heating and they were able to come out right away on a weekend. They were able to come out and do like a quick fix until we can get a whole new unit. They were just prompt and efficient. After we got the unit from them, they came out and checked it. They even went out with my daughter and I think that was on the weekend too and they went out and replaced that too. They are not inexpensive. They are a little pricy.

It was working great till they sent Tommy out. Long story short - humidity levels in the house - 50+%. Company sent another technician out and a Supervisor 3 times. The never got it right. I went to the Shumate office, met with Jim Bridges and expained my situation. I had never used Shumate before; however, I was very impressed with Mr. Bridges because he took the time to listen to my problem personally. He got a technician out to my house within a few days. Very professional and he completely solved the problem on ONE VISIT! The rest of the summer was much more comfortable in my house after Shumate was here.
