Pond Pros

Kelli and her assistant came by to seal the top of the pond b/c it was leaking about 6" from the top. Prior to the trip, I sent photos to show the water loss and that it wasn't from the waterfall. When she arrived she looked at the pond and said there wasn't an issue and that it was the normal height of the pond. She also said water may be coming from the waterfall causing loss. I respected her judgement but knew my pond was below the right level. She then said she would get an invoice an charge me $150 for looking at my pond for 10min. I should have had her do the work b/c that was half the estimate. I felt scammed: out $150 and nothing was done.

Ms. Carroll is a friendly, hard working and seems to be knowledgable in the care and maintenance of ponds and fish. She brought two other individuals with her to assist in cleaning the pond. They were all polite and worked the entire time they were here. My only complaint is the price. Ms. Carroll quoted me $500. to do the job and since the other estimate I received was $75. more I went with Pond Pros. However when the bill came it was for $650. I'll explain; I came outside several time during the clean-up to see how things were progressing and offer and provided cold beverages. One of these times I saw that Ms. Carroll was working to clean the dirt in and around the pebbles in the bottom of the pond. She mentioned that these hold a lot of dirt and are not good to have in the pond. I suggested she just take them out rather then bother with cleaning in and through them. When I got the bill she had added on $100. for the pebble removal. I thought I was making her job easier to just shovel them out instead of spending time bent over picking through the dirt. It did not appear to me to be that big an area of pebbles (max area about 15and quot; x 50and quot; maybe 3' deep) and I had told them they could just put them right outside the pond, so there was no carrying the pebbles. I could go on but suffice to say I think it good business to put forth the additional charge at the time, not sock it in at the end. When she gave me the bill I told her the quote was for 500. She said well just take the $50. back. I felt uncomfortable and put on the spot. I didn't take the money back but I am left to feel I allowed myself to be taken advantage of. So if you think If you think this is a situation you can easily avoid then Pond Pros did a good job. Obviously if you do use Pond Pros you would make sure the understanding is that the estimate stands unless discussed before addition charges are incurred.

We were referred to Pond Pros by the store we purchase our pond supplies from after our previous pond maintenance company failed to contact us and our fish were starting to show signs of stress. Upon hearing our story, Kelli said she could come help us out. When a large, urgent job prevented her from keeping the appointment time, she called immediately to reschedule. When she arrived, she quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it. The second time we called, it was because the hose to the pump had broken and they showed up the same day and fixed it in a few minutes. We have been fortunate to find them and appreciate that they have been able to provide us with quick response times and excellent customer service!
