Description of Work: I do most home projects myself (plumbing, carpentry, electricity) but had a bad shoulder and couldn't do the work myself. I asked them to install some center opening closet doors (originally bifold) and replace a bedroom door. They were unprepared with tools and supplies based on the work which I had described to them. I supplied them with some of what they forgot including a sander and sand paper. Bedroom door was installed off center and crooked. Thank goodness I noticed. They had to reinstall it. Closet doors could close one at a time but were put in so tight you can't close both at the same time. She showed up with a worker who did most of the work. She spent most of her time on the phone with other clients and then was going to charge me 4 hours labor for each of them. Fortunately, she "cut me a deal" and charged me 4 hours. If they had brought the right tools they could have been done in under 2 hours. When installing hinges, the pros use a hand held router and a template, and the work goes fast. They knew they would have to install hinges. I tried a callback and am very flexible, but she was never available when I was. I got her name from Yelp and she had great reviews. Go figure. Now I use Angie's list.

+ 5 moreMalinda ran a new electrical circuit through a brick wall to install an outdoor light, and replaced another outdoor light. She also fixed behind a baseboard in the garage where it had gotten wet. She also matched a 1" wide X 15' pinky beige grout line that become quite cracked. She matched it really well. She also did several other repairs to screen doors and figuring out how to prop up a counter. She's a super nice lady and knows what she is doing. The problem I had was her responsiveness. She's hard to get a hold of and she had to move appts around. To be fair, her right hand man had just been in the hospital for a serious condition and she was working without him for several months. I think that if that hadn't of happened, I would've had her do a lot more work for me. But I felt she was overloaded at the time.
Description of Work: Ran new electrical circuit, installed outdoor lights, fixed broken tile grout.

wallpaper removal
+ -1 moreI had a coupon for half-off wallpaper removal from this company. I contacted them about removing the wallpaper from my powder room. I did have to make one or two calls to get the date scheduled, but once scheduled, it went like clockwork. The owner called the night before to reconfirm the appointment and to let me know when to expect the worker. The worker showed up at the scheduled time and did a great job. It initially looked like it would only take a couple of hours but she ran into some problems where improper glue had been used. But she kept at it, working until 7 that night to get it all taken down, sanding down that glue seam, spackling the areas where the sheetrock surface had come off and cleaning up. A great job and I'm so happy I didn't try to undertake this myself!
