Givens Quality Painting

It was a fair estimate. He was pretty nice and did quality work. He was very responsive. I would definitely use him again.

This was an excellent experience. Larry Givens, the owner, called me promptly and came to my home within 24 hours to give me an estimate. Since they were just finishing a job in the area, he was able to start on my home the following day. Mr. Givens had two very capable gentlemen do the work in my home. My master bath had wallpaper that had previously been painted over. Because of this, it was most difficult to remove. However, in the areas where the wallpaper could not be removed, they were able to mud over any seams and then sand the area. This was very difficult work and the room looks great! His two employees arrived each day about 8:30 in the morning and worked until 7:00 at night. They were finished in 3 days and cleaned up very nicely. I am extremely pleased with their work and would recommend them highly.

Working with Larry Givens and his employees was a pleasure. Larry and his employees showed up on time. The 2 employees went right to work. They did an excellent job in protecting and covering the tub, shower, vanity and floor prior to beginning the work. After removal of the wallpaper, the walls needed a good amount of repair. Even though the entire job took longer than expected, I never got the impression that they were trying to hurry. They seemed very interested in doing a quality job regardless of how long it took. They were meticulous in their patching of the sheetrock. I tend to be a perfectionist and even when I thought it looked good, they would work some more on smoothing out the sheetrock. When they were finished, they did an excellent job in cleaning the entire bathroom. Both my wife and I were very impressed at how they left the bathroom. I plan on using them again for some more wallpaper removal and I would definately recommend them.

Larry gave me a fair quote which included the paint. Larry and his painters were courteous and professional the entire time they were in my home. Larry checked up on the me and came out to site regularly just as he said he would. His painters took their time and used care around my furniture and floors.They did an excellent job painting, removing the wallpaper and doing the dry wall repair. I am very satisfied with the services I received and I will be using Givens Painting again in the very near future.

Larry is very easy to work with. However, he only accepts cash or check. So save up. The job took longer than I expected but the crew took their time and did it the right way. The paint was matched perfectly to what the house was already colored. Larry has a good work ethic and integrity. He does guarantee his work for 3 years. I did have problem getting one window repainted. Not sure what happened but one small window had the wood replaced and was repainted but the paint peeled off. It was hard to get Larry back to fix the problem. If this happens to you just keep calling him. He'll fix it up and not make excuses. I do recommend him and would use him again.

Mr. Givens was called to give an estimate on several repairs in my home. He arrived promptly as scheduled and assessed the the work that needed to be done. He explained exactly what he would do. The estimate was extremely reasonable. The work was started as planned. The workers prepared my home very well, covering everything and cleaning up everything prior to leaving each day. The work was very well done, as they matched the existing paint throughout the house even though I didn't have any extra paint to match it with. They were able to repair/paint one or two walls in a room and match the paint exactly without me paying for the entire room to be painted. I am still getting compliments on my front door. I thought I was going to have to buy a new front door and the framing around it - which is what I was told by other contractors. Mr. Givens said he could restore the front door and repair the framing around it - and he did! It's beautiful! I will use Mr. Givens again for all of my contracting needs and will highly recommend him to others.

Larry Givens arrived on time for the estimate and reviewed the work to be completed. Gave advise on color selection and areas to consider but did not try to upsell or do work not needed. Very professional. Quote of $2,400 and four days to complete. Started on the day promised and completed a day early. The wall paper stripping in one room was difficult due to two layers of paper but it was stripped without damage to the walls and prepared correctly. The work was excellent. The workers professional and clean. I feel I got a lot done for a very good price. I would recommend Givens Quality Painting to anyone.

The work hasn?t been performed yet. I might use them again and they are still in the running for the job.

Don't know what happened here. I tried contacting Givens Painting by leaving a message on their answering machine and by e-mail with no luck for some interior painting work. It's been two weeks and I have still not been contacted by them. Bad business even if they are busy.

Mr. Givens scheduled to meet at our home to provide an estimate but, despite the 2 hour appt window, we did not hear from him until about 30 minutes after the scheduled time had passed. At the time of his call he stated that he was "15 minutes away" and asked to keep the appt. We agreed, but it was still 45 minutes longer before he showed up. His bid was high (over $1000 more than the next lower bid) so, this combined with the lack of punctuality resulted in our going with another contractor.

A gentleman came out to give me an estimate on the same day I called and then they started the work in a couple of days. They were very professional, good, clean and thorough. They cleaned up well and did a good job.

They were very professional and I really enjoyed meeting with them. They seemed very good and were incredibly informative.

I contacted GQP and scheduled a time for them to stop by. Though the scheduled time had to be postponed, Givens communicated well with me regarding the change in appt and we rescheduled for the following day which was a Saturday. We went through the work to be completed and discussed each of the projects in detail. I was provided an estimate the following day and work began on Monday. They completed the work in three days as agreed upon. They cleaned up each day. I was impressed with the job that they did.

Excellent! After they removed the wallpaper, they applied a skim-coat joint compound to wall to hide all of the imperfections. Bathroom now looks great after a primer coat and 2 finish coats of paint.

Overall Larry's team did a great job. They spent a long time prepping the surface and then worked hard to make sure everything turned out well. They used Porter brand paints. The carpenter that was used to replace the rotten wood also did a great job. They were careful to mask and cover everything that wasn't supposed to be painted. They did a good job of cleaning up after their work was finished. Their estimate was lower than my other estimates. Their estimate did not include some work that I thought was included so the overall price I would up paying was higher than anticipated but still the price was very good and I would not hesitate to hire them again.

Tried for two days to reach Givens Painting, finally set an appointment and they didn't show.

The end result definitely exceeded my expectations! There was three and four layers of wall paper in two bathrooms and a breakfast area that had to be removed. Once removed, there was the preparation of the walls to be done before the painting could even be started. And if you've ever removed wall paper, particularly multiple layers, then you know what a mess you have. The prep work done after the wall paper was removed was fantastic, you would never know there had been anything there. The painting is neat and detailed, and the crown molding was put up the correct way, complete with caulking. Mr. Givens and his crew were neat, courteous, and worked when scheduled, completing the job in the scheduled time frame, and if you have even had most of the rooms in your home, including the kitchen and bathrooms all being worked on at the same time you know what a mess that can be. But while it still had to be a mess to get the job done, it was a neat mess, with all tools and supplies being neatly put away at the end of the day and any construction debri was removed. Mr. Givens also saw to it that several things not in the original estimate were taken care of without complaint or problem. This company should definitely get an A+ on their professionalism and their work. I would definitely hire them again and be glad to recommend them to others.

Larry Givens (owner) came out and gave me an estimate the same day I inquired. His company started work the very next day and completed the job ahead of schedule. His team was very polite, professional and did excellent work.

They were very good. They came and did what they said they were going to do, at the price they said. It was a good price.

Larry Givens came within 2 or 3 days of my initial call to estimate the cost of this job. His suggestions were very helpful and I appreciated the fact that he came on Saturday. Other than being late for this appointment and his final inspection, he did everything right. He did call and let me know he would be late. Alfredo started the job on Labor Day morning and finished the evening of the following day. He worked very hard to finish the painting so that I would not have to stay home from work another day. There were a few small items that he could have done better (e.g., missed painting trim over the top of 2 doors) but overall I was very satisfied with the work.

We could not have asked for more. They were able to start with a few days of us getting the estimate and they worked diligently. In working with contractors in the past it seems there is always something that they need to come back and fix or touch up. We were thrilled to walk into the bath room after they were done and see a completed job. We would use Larry again for any similar project.

He was very professional with talking to me. I called them Saturday morning and their office was closed, but he called me back that following Monday and came out immediately.
