ATLANTA CUSTOM CANVAS

First I called Atlanta Custom Canvas to inquire about the price of an awning. I was a bit nervous because I am a female new home owner and not familiar with working with contractors. They were helpful and we set up a measuring appointment to have someone come to my home. A middle aged man came that Monday, on time, and showed me the options of shape, color, and fabric. I picked out what I wanted. A couple of days later the man faxed me a contract with the awning's dimensions and color and price. I signed the contract and faxed it back. The installation appointment was set up and a truck arrived on that day to install the awning. The installers included the middle aged man and a couple of other guys. They were very quick and polite and made sure I was happy with the placement of the awning before they completely fastened the awning up. I called the company a few days later to ask some questions about how to maintain my awning and they were very responsive and helpful.

THE BACK AWNING WAS NOT MEASURED CORRECTLY, AND HE REFUSED TO CORRECT HIS ERROR. HE REFUSED TO LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT FULL PAYMENT, REFUSED TO TAKE DOWN THE WRONG-SIZED AWNING AND HAS REFUSED TO CORRECT HIS MISTAKE. DID NOT RESPOND TO WRITTEN COMPLAINT OF PROBLEM UNTIL I STOPPED PAYMENT ON THE CHECK, AND HIS ONLY RESPONSE THEN WAS TO THREATEN TO SUE. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. THIS IS A ONE-PERSON SHOP, HE APPEARS TO BE OPERATING ON A SHOESTRING AND DOES NOT STAND BEHIND HIS WORK, CORRECT HIS MISTAKES, OR SEEM TO BE BURDENED AT ALL WITH ANY SENSE OF PROFESSIONALISM OR ETHICS.
