Absolutely horrible! They installed the flooring and it started buckling in a few days. Then I just kept getting the run around, and still can't get someone scheduled to come out to fix the crappy job they did.

You can't beat the price, but you get what you pay for. The carpet itself is fine. There were some tricky aspects of the installation that turned out great. I believe the installers were skilled. I expected the molding paint to need to be touched up in spots. That is even in the contract. Almost all the paint was scraped off the botom of the molding. Even that was fine with me, because we did install the carpet over basement tile. I am sure they had special issues with that. However, there was paint damage all over the walls at 2ft and even 4ft up the wall in several places. There was even paint scraped off the top of a door frame. I spent 3 hours touching up paint this weekend, as Empire is not being responsive to the damage. I feel strongly that I should be compensated for time and materials to fix this mess. If I weren't a decent painter I would defintely have had to hire someone. There was significant paint damage to probably 30% of wall space at waist level down. They asked for payment up front, which should have been a red flag. Most companies do not do that. Now I know floors before walls, but it seemed the other way around was better. I mean, the painters got paint all over the tile that we carpeted over, so I guess I lost either way. I wrote "Significant damage to wall and moldings" on the paperwork, but I am just not getting anywhere. I will pay more for better service in the future. This is a huge company, so they don't care about each specific job.

They do not stand by their warranty. I will never use them again. I am done with them idiots. They don't hold their warranty, that is crap. If they say they have a warranty, they are lying to you. It was very expensive. It was free installation too. They are liars, don't ever use them. The wood floors are not holding up.
Description of Work: They put my floors in. They did the whole house with carpets and wood flooring.

I wouldn't stir anybody to Empire. I went through all the hassle I had trying to get my issues resolved. They were right in there with the estimate. I had to argue with them and threaten them to get my issues resolved. They didn't resolve the issues very well. The customer service after the fact was a nightmare.
Description of Work: They redid the carpet and redid the hardwood flooring in my home.

My wife and I own a rental property and required new carpet, padding and vinyl in the whole house do to a bad renter. We saw the Empire ads on television claiming that they will beat all others prices and have next day service. I knew it sounded too good, but decided to give it a try just in case they actually did what they say. We live 50 miles from the property, so it is no easy thing to be there for appointments. The house is easy to find, we've never had a problem with anyone saying they couldn't find the place. We set up an appointment with Empire, drove the 50 miles to be there early for our 1:00 appointment. At about 1:15 I went to call Empire to make sure the guy was coming. There was a missed call, but I will say that sometimes cell service is a little poor in the area. I had missed a call by about 8 minutes. I called back and was told that the sales person could not find the location. I told them to have him call me and I would give him directions. I was told that he had already decided not to come and went home. There was not an offer for anyone else to come, nor was there even a suggestion to reschedule. I was quite frustrated at this point but just thanked the operator. After a few days we decided to try again since we still needed the job done and the part about beating all prices was still in my mind. I called back, rescheduled, asked for someone other than the original person and asked that a Mapquest be printed for the second sales guy. The second guy came, spent a few hours measuring and showing samples. I thought he did a pretty good job overall. The problem came when I followed up a few days later and received his voice mail. He called back, left a voice mail telling me that he got tied up at the DMV, but would definitely have my quote the next day. It is now 5 days later and still no quote. My suggestion is...don't waste your time.
Description of Work: After setting up an appointment for an estimate on carpeting and vinyl replacement for a whole house, the original sales person never showed. I did set up a second estimate with another sales person who showed up, seemed very nice and polite, but never followed up with a quote.

We had an issue and they ended up knocking $100 off. The field guy came and did the estimate and he was absolutely wonderful and very nice. They said they will call us to install and give us the time frame to be here. My boy friend originally set up the estimate but we ended paying more and they called me on Saturday to confirm they will be there on Monday for installation. We didn’t get phone call until later in the day and all the instruction were left on the voice mail with the order confirmation number and told me to call 1800 number and confirm the installation. We did all that but nobody turned up on Monday. We had to have somebody here and had to take another day off for them to come and install it. They acknowledged and agreed it was an error on their part. They absolutely followed through once they did get here. They actually moved the furniture for us and took out all the old carpet. They installed new ones and we didn’t have any issues. It took them all day and he was very happy with the services they provided once they got here. It was sub contracted and they always knew what they were doing and it looks great. They had to move furniture and there wasn’t space. We are very happy. They knocked the price down based on we were going to have it installed on a Monday instead of the weekend. The pricing was fair.

They were very patient and professional. They came out like the way they said they would, it was actually the very next day. They did a very professional job. I would not recommend them. We ordered one thing and they later told us that they didn't have it. When you order one thing it is that one thing that you want and you don't want to switch over. The people that they sent to install the flooring were very professional. The price was a little high. The person installing it was great but as company on the whole they were not good. They came out but not with the product that we wanted.
