Robert came to my house to give a complete estimate on replacing our roof and installing new gutters with gutter guards. He came to the house the day after I called and was able to schedule a time to do the work within a week. With DeKalb roofing, we were able to go with architectural shingles for the price others were quoting for standard shingles. That was great for us since my wife really wanted the architecturals but I didn't want to pay more for them. We had a few minor issues come up on the installation of the gutters over the bay windows, but Robert had his guys out the next day to take care of it. I felt good knowing that I could call Robert or Jeff directly and know I was talking to an owner and not a call center rep. About the only not outstanding thing was that the site was left a little dirty with pieces of old shingles. Given how poor our existing roof condition was I was not surprised to find the remnants around the yard.

The entire process went exceedingly well. The company responded promptly to my request for an estimate, and they provided several samples of shingles for us to choose from. They answered all of our questions promptly. Several other homes in our neighborhood are also having their roofs replaced, and the roofing companies with which they are working deliver pallets of shingles days in advance, drop large waste receptacles off before the work begins and then pick them up sometimes days after the work is completed. Dekalb Roofing delivers the shingles the day that work actually begins, and they use a truck to remove the waste and debris as soon as they are finished working. The crew arrived at our house on time and were very professional and efficient. Work on replacing the roof of the house across the street began the same day as ours. The Dekalb Roofing crew arrived two hours after the crew across the street started and still finished our roof the same day, whereas the crewe across the street took three days to complete their work. I would highly and enthusiastically recommend Dekalb Roofing Co. to anyone!

Dekalb Roofing did not disappoint. The experience was great from beginning to end. They showed up on time and completed the job in one day as promised. The crew was extremely fast, efficient and cleaned the yard up wonderfully. There was no debris left around. They also installed new gutters around the house and they look great. When we dropped by the office to pay our bill the experience continued to be just as pleasant. It was like doing business with a good neighbor. There was no stress and no mess and I do recommend to all my friends and neighbors.

The reason I didn't give them an A was that I wanted drip-edge molding, and they talked me out of it. The tabs on the roof-edge shingles have since bent in the heat, as is common in this neighborhood, and actually failed along one end of the house. I repaired the broken shingles myself twice, the second time with flashing (which seems to have fixed the problem). I also asked them to repair rotten fascia, at an agreed-upon price per board, and instead the subcontractor wrapped the bad fascia in aluminum, at no charge. They had already installed the gutters before I caught this, so I didn't insist they redo it. They might have made the repairs to the shingles or redone the gutters if I had insisted, but I didn't feel like arguing with them after they had made me feel ignorant over the flashing issue. They were very prompt and quick, and cleaned up adequately after the job. The gutters were a major improvement over the old ones, which they correctly diagnosed as too small. The price was very good, but I would have preferred a higher-quality job at a higher price.

I had a leaky roof that I suspected was in one of the valleys. I gave Dekalb Roofing a call and Jeff Berry came out to give me an estimate. He actually came out a day earlier than expected and saw a problem with the valleys immediately. He explained what was wrong as well as mentioning that my vent pipes should be sealed around the base which I agreed with. He gave me a rough estimate when asked and I received a written estimate in the mail 2 days later. I called the office and said I wanted to have the work done and they said they'd put my name on the board and call me with an exact date. Unfortunately they never scheduled an actual date but I will excuse them because there were severe thunderstorms for days after I had requested the work be done and I'm sure they were playing catch-up. In any case, about a week after I had called, they called me and said a crew would be by later that day. I went to work and when I came back the roof was done and looked great. It rained immediately after so I know that the leak was fixed and I am one happy camper. The final bill matched the estimate exactly and I was able to pay over the phone by credit card. Overall, I felt that this is a company I could trust. Their estimate seemed reasonable and they didn't pressure me into any work I didn't need. Also, the work looks heads and tales above the roofer who installed the roof initially (less than a year old, mind you but it was done before I bought the house). If I have one complaint, it's that their estimate/billing situation needs to move into the 21st century and allow emails/online transactions. It's a minor gripe though and the quality of the experience outweighs the small negative. I will be calling them first if/when I ever need anything else done on my roof or gutters.

It hasn't rained yet & their warranty does include one free callback. We feel this should be an agreement that is fair to both us and the roofing company.

Dekalb Roofing communicated very well and actually performed the work earlier than they originally quoted us. I was also very pleased that they did not try to "upsell" me on other roofing services beyond the small job they had to do to stop the leaks.

They were very responsive and made sure we were on the same page before starting and completing the service. They did what they said they were going to do at the time they said that they were going to complete the service. I have recommended them to others.

They were prompt and gave me the lowest estimate for repairing a small problem. I had one estimate that was over $500 and another estimate for $1200 which included doing work that wasn't necessary! The Dekalb Roofing representative was honest, prompt, and responsible.

I got two calls from them. One time they called at 7 a.m. and left a message giving me their phone number. They called me a second time early in the morning. I was surprised they did not respond by email or have someone to discuss business. It seems they could have gone a little further in trying to meet my needs, like responding to email. They responded quickly after initial contact but not the way I would have liked. I was not going to continue to play phone tag with them.

We were very pleased with the work. Getting an estimate was easy. Work was done on time as promised and they were very conscientious about getting everything cleaned up. We have one small criticism about the gutters. They installed a fascia board behind the front gutters, but neglected to paint it. All in all, it was excellent work and totally worth the money. It was all very low pressure.

Job went very well. Company was responsive and quick. Estimate delivered promptly. Job carried out in short order and in one day. We were very pleased with job from first phone call to job completion. The roofers were prompt on the job and the supervisor was very nice. The house is relatively small but one day was still impressive to me. They also honored the online coupon that I had actually forgotten about! How is that for good business?

When I called the company and described the problem, we scheduled a time when someone could meet me at my house in the next couple of days and look at the roof. I met with Robert who quickly assessed the situation and gave me an estimate. He assured me that the work would be done by the end of the week and would be guaranteed for a year. Two days later, he called to say a crew was going to repair the roof that afternoon. I was able to observe them at work. They did what Robert had told me needed to be done, cleaned up the work site, and left. I am waiting for a good rainfall to check for leaks.

Robert estimated the new roof at $2,600.00. Even though he closed at 4pm, he waited past closing to show my wife the various types of shingles. We were running late. He honored the $200 coupon posted on Angie's List. He said the work could be done in one day. I asked that he do the work on Friday because I would be home working. Later he called a previous job might run late and so my roof might take two days could he start on Thursday and said I did not have to be there. I said no problem. It did take two days. On Friday, they arrived at 8am and left around 6pm. The contract said they would replace all old plywood sections at $40.00 each, but they couldn't say how many that would be until they looked under the shingles. I thought, Ah Ha! This is where they are going to make up the $200 for the coupon. But they only charged $40 for one sheet. Very honest. They cleaned up all the nails and shingles except for a few very small pieces that were hard to see.

From my first impression, they were qualified, honest, and trustworthy. My general contractor recommended them. I opted not to choose them based on timeliness of the project. The other company was able to come upon my stated date.

Dekalb is a great service to use but I wish they would have gotten back to me when I called with a follow up question. Especially since it involved a small leakage that seems to have developed in my roof. The work they did was very professional and they cleaned up very well after they were done. They also showed up right on time.

Excellent. Jeff came by the same day I called to give me an estimate. After receiving other estimates, I chose to go with Dekalb roofing. When I called to confirm work, they were out the next day. Work was performed as expected... They showed up on schedule, performed the job quickly & efficiently, cleaned up afterwards. All in all... Very pleased with their workmanship & professionalism.

I was very satisfied. The price was great, the work was done quickly, and the workers were competent. Cleaned up after themselves. I've had no problems with that area since then and have remained very pleased.

Responded quickly to call with appointment to evaluate roofing needs. Promised verbal and written quote for work discussed. Received verbal, but not written. Agreed upon portion of work to be done. Work was done quickly. No mess left behind. Was patient with me when payment was delayed.

Robert said he would arrive at 9.30 am the day after my initial call. He arrived at exactly 9.30, gave me a detailed estimate and we arranged that the work would be done in three days time. I was out of town for that week and he was happy to wait for payment until my return. When I came home all work had been done, and the yard with no trace of the old tiles or nails had been cleared up beautifully. All phone call were returned very promptly.

Promptly came out to do an estimate, within a week did the job, professional, cleaned up after themselves, did not wipe-out the shrubbery, communication excellent.

Robert came out himself to look at the problem. He told me that there was a problem with water settling underneath the shingles and running down into the space where the two sides of the house were not connected, causing water to seep into the drywall spaces. He came when he said he would and scheduled the work within two days of his coming out. He was courteous and professional, however, he did not provide any information on the actual work that would be done. He did show me the material that would be place under the shingles to prevent the leak and divert the water to the guttering system. As a consumer, I always like to get things in writing. He was reluctant to do so. The workers were diligent going about their work and were finished with 2 hours. They cleaned up every single trace of debris and leaves that came from the roof area. I am leaving the "quality of work" blank at this time. I will know more after a good rain.
