+ -1 moreMark is a charming guy who would happily charge you townsends to take care of your trees, so long as they are standing. He will purposefully neglect to tell you that your tree is in danger of falling and needs to be removed, simply because he cannot charge you any more for the maintenance. After inspecting and trimming down an oak tree we had for over 10 years and charging us thousands throughout this period, the tree came down causing severe damage to our house. After consulting with another arborist we were told that the tree was rotting and this should have been recognized by any professional arborist. Do yourself a favor and hire a professional.

+ -1 moreBeing accommodating I allowed Appleseed to use my property to take down a tree from my neighbors yard. Unfortunately the crew caused damage that required repair. It took months to get the repair completed. They repaired less than 1/2 the damage and the quality of the work matched the professionalism of the tree crew. Don’t allow this company on your property.

Description of Work: This is the third time used this service. I have had a series of large diseased water oaks that have had to be removed from my upper level back yard. On this occasion was the largest tree with an extensive canopy extending over my neighbor's yard. In addition to this tree 2 smaller trees were removed, a section of the upper back yard cleared of undergrowth, shrubs trimmed along one side of the house. All work was done well and safely.

+ -1 moreI am well acquainted with Appleseed and Mark Collins so the work went as I expected. When I called about another limb a neighbor was complaining about I didn't hesitate to call Mark. He promptly came out and gave me his opinion about the storm damaged limb and opined that it was not threatening the neighbor's property, however, he did look at the aged, diseased water oak and advised it was time to bring it down. I agreed and due to the volumne of storm damage in the area agreed to put me on his list and get to it as soon as possible. He called a couple of weeks later and advised me when he could come. The price quote was $3,500 but because the work went quicker than anticipated the price was $3,000. I was pleased overall with the work and the clean up. I continued to use Appleseed because I trusted Mark Collins to be efficient and honest.
Description of Work: Mark Collins has been assisting me since the winter of 2009 when one of my huge water oaks came down in the freak snow fall taking out my neighbors' fence, their huge red oak, and damaging yet another neighbor's property. Part of the tree was hung up in another tree. The whole mess was taken of professionally and quickly. Mark worked with the insurance company to provide the necessary itemized estimate. Next I had a dying maple tree in the front side yard of the historical neighborhood and he worked with me and that neighbor to get that tree down with no damage to either house. Through all of the tree removals we have been watching another huge water oak that was obviously in the process of dying and trusting Mark's judgment when he advised that it was time for it to come down I agreed. This tree was taken down in one day and hauled away. I could not afford the stump grinding at this time.

+ -1 moreWe were out of town when Mark Collins of Appleseed Tree Service returned my call on my cell phone. He agreed to look at the job before we returned, and gave us a price. I was pleased (I had called one other tree service for an estimate already). This was not a major operation; our insurance company had recommended that we have the branches trimmed 10 to 12 feet away from the roof. Appleseed arrived on the day we agreed upon (after I was back in town). The crew was professional and communicated well. They are arborists, not just tree cutters. All branches and debris were picked up and shredded in their truck. The company carries full insurance, which is important to us. I will definitely call on them again.
Description of Work: The Appleseed crew trimmed branches of a big water oak and an ailanthus away from our roof.

+ -1 moreGave a thorough, honest and conservative estimate; it was clear that the owner Mark Collins didn't want to cut down a tree that had a chance to survive. In fact, he advised us not to remove another tree that we thought was diseased as well. The crews were professional and courteous, arrived on time, and cleaned up thoroughly. I have used Appleseed at a previous residence for over 12 years, and though other services may be a bit less expensive, I've found them fairly competitive and very high quality. We plan to use them again, and have referred neighbors to them as well.
Description of Work: Took down a huge old oak tree that was diseased. Performed an assessment beforehand, then strategized on how to take it down given that telephone wires blocked access with a crane. The tree was dismantled, the stump cut down to mulch, and the branches removed

You really have to watch it with arborists that they are licensed and insured so that if anything were to happen to them, you are not held liable. Mark was great. He is what I would call a concerned business owner. He actively participates in ensuring your happiness and his prices are about what other places in this area are asking so we felt fine about using him and paying his rates.
Description of Work: Mark Collins, the owner of this company, is an arborist. He trimmed two extremely large trees we have on our rather small Atlanta property. He also removed one absolutely gigantic tree that was pretty much dead and needed to be removed.

The trees were in a place where there was not much space to maneuver around in, but they were very capable and did the job very carefully. The man who runs this place is an arborist and very cautious. He loves trees and gives lots of good advice about them.

+ -1 moreMark's team did a great, professional job; methodically removing branches and lowering them to the ground. Our neighbor had recently had new sod put down and they put large sheets of wood down to protect their sod. It took two days to complete the job and grind the stump.
Description of Work: We had a large difficult to reach approx 60-70 foot tree in our front yard that was suffering from cancer and needed to be removed.
