This was my first time using A Plus, inc. as a company; they had excellent salesman and catered our work order to what we were looking to accomplish in the attic for our new insulation. My wife and I received an itemized breakdown of the services inquired and he was an excellent point of contact. The only thing to take issue with- with the salesman was the reluctance to cover lighting/fan fixtures on the attic side (the ones that weren't the can light). Prior to supervisor review; accompanying the installation crew pre Dec 30, we were not satisfied with the service provided. The first team that came out was responsible for the removal of insulation and the task of air sealing all of the interior walls from the attic. They arrived on scene and were friendly enough; I went in to check in on them after about an hour and I noticed there was some visible, easily accessible parts of a few interior walls that were skipped over; of the same contiguous wall were sealing was present. Additionally there was a hard to access nook above our master bedrooms closet at which there's a contiguous length of wall I can assume was skipped for it's difficulty (I had to go horizontal and only my upper body could get in). On top of that, I saw a good half dozen or more mostly small (3-6") segments for the same contiguous length of their respective walls where no sealing foam was present. I asked if they could seal under the decking, the first crew refused as it was not in the work order and would take too much time after I expressed it's necessity. There was difficult to access interior wall under the decking towards the front of the house. I told them that was fine, and I could finish that* particular area for them when they leave with no problem- I've got a saw and I know they've got a busy day; not wanting to remove decking is acceptable. What didn't seem acceptable was some incredibly thin "cosmetic" boards, (I pulled then off with my hands and I am in no way built like a weightlifter) where more interior walls were skipped. That is a breakdown of communication. If they were for some reason incapable or not allowed to* move the boards, simply telling me those boards were also in the way would have prompted me to remove them on the spot, its not an excuse to avoid work. They did not finish the air sealing, as per the missed spots, and did not communicate to me where additional air sealing could be achieved. They sealed a can light to the Sheetrock- the can light has multiple holes in it's housing so I'm not sure how significantly that diminishes it's efficacy. Ironically the (one) can light cover that would be "installed' later was not sealed on the bottom, and not flush with the Sheetrock (not even close, about 20' tilted). They did what I perceive to be a good job sealing the attic from the neighbors -there is a small area where our attic and the ranch style part of the neighbors attic intersect. They (first screw) did not however; remove some older rigid-like insulation and stacked in on top of our attic fan cover. They also did not remove the vertically mounted insulation on the interior wall facing the room featuring the vaulted ceiling, saying it wasn't in their work order. I took down the medium and large debris they wouldn't take with them. The latter would have been fine if the second crew, who showed up shortly after-(leaving little time to inspect but I'm glad I did) said it wasn't in their work order to remove either. I was specifically quoted for insulation removal- they didn't say anything about labor in regards to the vertical batting on the walls.; having two crews of two people tell me it's not their job is incredibly unprofessional- no customer wants to stare two groups of two people in the eye and say they have to do something their order doesn't specify. I'd have to do it if they didn't. I let them know I'd like to talk to the salesperson who id become comfortable with. I was informed the salesman, supervisor, and second crew would continue installation the next day. We all met early in the morning and headed upstairs. I pointed out the missing sealing foam on the interior walls, the loose fitting baffles of the attic to stop insulation, the unsealed can lights- and while doing so, one of the crew steps straight through the Sheetrock making a gaping hole (well over a foot) in our guest bathroom, where I've stashed my animals.... After making sure he was ok, the other crew member started sealing where I pointed out, but also stopped- which stumped me since there was more interior walls that were missed even after, so I spot fixed for a second time. I brought this up with the supervisor and was told I need to inform the crew about the missed spots. Its possible they weren't on their "A" game, but it's not my job as a customer to eagle eye their staff and make sure they aren't cutting corners. No one addressed the hard to access area above the master closet, as they were all prepping to blow foam in- so I also had to treat that area before it was to get filled in. Additionally, the down lights (not the one can light) were still uncovered. I believe I mentioned to everyone at least once, but I certainly told the salesman and a crew-mate That this is a big concern of mine. Even minor fire safety was a concern- we just recently had smoke detectors installed in every bedroom and the hallway with just that in mind, and it would've kept us at ease if they were covered. Those lighting fixtures- though they were not can lights, were not confirmed with by myself or the crew weather they were Insulation Contact Rated down lights- which is worse for wear now that they are foamed into the ceiling. We told them prior arrival; to bring covers and we would pay out for it, whether they felt it was redundant or not. I was informed it wasn't necessary for the third time, and taking everything into consideration- with me physically and mentally tired from helping and falling behind on my days work; my wife and I decided to terminate service. Overall I can say as someone who occasionally manages outsourcing- I can accept an 85% job. Maybe less, situationally. This was not.

Well, I've had been researching blown insulation for many years. Our cooling and heating costs have been high since we moved to the ATL area. Our home is about 20 years, and the pervious rockwool had settled considerably over the years. Our hope is to reduce that costs with the insulation of spray foam. My experience with A-Plus Inc was awful during the installation. I received three quotes from different installers, and they all pretty much came in at the same price. Toby (A-Plus Inc) sales person provided much literature about their product, as well as answered my questions fully. Now that?s was the good part about A-Plus, and soon things went bad, and fast. After deciding to go with A-Plus, because of the good salesperson, we scheduled the two-day install (1st day was removal, 2nd day spraying). My wife and I are both full time employed, and were both taking off two different days to be at home for the install. We weren?t particular on our two days, just that we wanted to be sure they aligned with A-Plus. At first we decided to do a Wed-Thu install, but A-Plus said they can move it up a day and do it all on Tue-Wed. Either time worked for us, so long as it was only two days. Well, on the first day, the removal teamed showed up at 1:00pm, nearly 4 hours later than they had told us; obviously, they did not finish at 5:00. This Team ensured me, that this would not delay the process, as the other Team could start where they had finished in the attic. They told me they?ll be there first thing the next morning to complete, and that the spray foam Team would arrive shortly thereafter. Well, the removal team arrived nearly 2 hours late on the second day, and they didn?t finish until the late afternoon. The spray Team arrived late as well, while the removal Team was still working. The removal Team ensure me that the spray Team could get started while they were finishing, but that turned out to be untrue. Basically, the spray Team sat in my driveway for many hours, while waiting on the removal. The spray Team was basically able to spray for an hour, before it was the end of the 2nd day. Basically in the two days, only the removal of the rockwool, and about 1 tenth of the spray was complete. After that, Saturday?s were the only available day for them to spray, and it took them four more Saturday?s to complete. During that time, an exhaust fan had to be run outside, I blew a circuit in my AC, because it was overrun, and one of the spray foam installers step though the drywall in the one of the bedrooms. During that time, the A-Plus Team was hard to reach, and late to our home (they rarely got there when they said they would). They would sit for hours in my driveway baking in the sun, fixing their equipment that seemed to always fail. It was unbelievable all that was going on. I reached out to Peyton (the owner) many times during this ordeal. We spoke about the experiences and he ensured me this was unusual. Only he and his Team would know, but I find that hard to believe. He took $200 off my final bill for my troubles (yes ? a big $200!), and offer to have a cleaning service come clean my home (I guess my home wasn?t clean enough for his crew). I decline the cleaning service, as I wanted this to all end. If you choose to go with them, good luck, and make sure they have a proper maintenance program for their equipment.

Told them I wanted work done before end of year. After two weeks without estimate, called to ask when I would get it. Got response from salesperson telling me that other "hotter" jobs had kept him from getting me an estimate before then. A day or so later I did get a quote, along with some other requested info about GA Power rebates. Theirs was the least expensive estimate by far of the four companies I had bid my work. But, I was a bit insulted that my job wasn't important and wondered what that would mean about them actually showing up when I needed them to.
Description of Work: Came out to give estimate for attic blown in and crawl space batt insulation.

They were on a list of contractors offering rebates from Georgia Power. They are responsive. They seem to know what they are doing but they haven't done the work yet.
Description of Work: I got a quote from A Plus for insulation. They are going to be foaming my attic, insulating exterior walls and sealing up the crawlspace in the basement.
