When we met with Todd Phillip, he was immediately on the phone with his professional team, before I finished the list. Todd and his team are absolute professionals and our house is now beautiful. We had so much to renovate and Todd made sure everything was perfect down to the last detail. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much Todd to the beautiful and amazing job you all did. Todd Phillips did an amazing renovation of our 1950s rural family home built by my father who is now deceased. He would have been very happy with their work and the improvements that were made, and the reuse of some of the 100+ year old wood. My father actually recycled it from an old farmhouse that had once stood on the property. It is now a rustic backsplash in our new kitchen. Mr. Phillips was the only builder who responded to my request for a renovation estimate when our mother died several years ago. He came out and gave us a very fair price, but he knew then [he said] that it might be sometime before the job started. And it was. Years later I called him, and he remembered that time; we met and came to an agreement for the renovation of what was to become our retirement home. He is honest, communicates, offers professional and experienced advice, manages his subcontractors, and charges a fair price for the work. We have not had any problems with any of the work: Kitchen/Dining, 2 bathrooms (three-piece & four-piece both w/glass showers), bedroom, laundry/utility room renovations; new hardwood floors, floor tile, new windows and doors, plumbing & electrical, new walls, ceilings, interior painting and finishing throughout. We highly recommend Todd Phillips and hope that we will be able to get on his schedule for additional building projects.

The workmanship was excellent. Mr. Phillips was one of the most responsive contractors we have worked with. He has assembled subcontractors who know their trade and can perform the work with skill and to code. He supervised their work and made sure that the work was done to the highest level. We relied on his services since we were traveling out of state in preparation for moving into the house and he met the deadline! We are more than pleased with his work and would highly recommend him to anyone. He is an excellent contractor and we are very glad to have found his company.

Called and asked if we could get a quote on our bath remodel. Person was rude and stated they wouldn’t bother coming out to do a quote unless they knew they were going to do the work. He asked what all we wanted done, and he said I can quote that over the phone. I found his attitude unappealing and very unprofessional. This is twice we’ve attempted to get quotes from this company and we’ve been met with the same rudeness. We will not try again.

There aren't enough good things to say about him. For starters he ALWAYS answers his phone, except the day he broke his wrist. And he totally knows his stuff. He knows the best way to achieve every little thing you might want. He's been doing this for a long time. He knows the sources, people, methods, inspectors, etc and is on top of every issue immediately. The amount of time and effort he spent on my house is far more than what I paid him for. Can't recommend him and his right hand man William highly enough. Great people doing a great job.

While he was on Angie's list for Ellijay, ga, he let me know he does not go that far over from his home base in dalton, ga. He's contacted Angie's list to let them know, but doesn't seem to be working. He contacted me right away after he received my email. He was very nice and told me if I considered a site closer to him we could work together. Also, gave me some realistic advice on my budget, which wasn't too far off, but you can't blame me for wanting more and not knowing what the building requirements are for a home in the mountains. I appreciated his help. I hope we will be able to still work together.

Mr. Phillips and his excellent crew of contractors first helped us refine our wishes into something that was practical for our house and budget. He made many helpful suggestions on how to do things better and cheaper. His crew were on time, polite and hard working. Mr. Phillips explained all details and the inevitable delays while making the project happen as fast as possible. We are pleased with the result and have a much more comfortable and valuable house.

Todd did an awesome job with the construction of our mother-in-law suite. His estimate came in very close to the cost of the completed project. His crews were all good and showed professionalism. Todd was always only a phone call away if I needed anything and would immediately respond to any questions or concerns. The work performed was excellent to the point that our family and neighbors were asking who the contractor was because they were so impressed with the work. I would recommend him and we do plan on using him again for a future building project.

Everything went beautifully even with several rain delays. Everyone working on our house for the outside and on the previous job of the inside are completely professional. This is a company that I would recommend for anyone wanting a 1st class remodel of the inside or outside of their home.

He did great work. He had an employee that worked for him. He came and did whatever we needed done at that time. Everything was fine with that. It wasn't a great deal of money. It was just something we needed done. We had new floors put in our house and we needed something done. It was just some woodwork that we needed. I give him a very high recommendation. He did it right and he did it good. He did it cleanly. The quality of work and his professionalism was all very good. He was fair priced. We were very well satisfied.

This was the third contractor we have ever dealt with, and by far the BEST. We decided on a Friday to go with remodel and Monday morning he was there but 8:30 with his crew, and from that day on till the end of the project, they never took days off to leave us and go to his other projects. What made this so easy was Todd listen to what I wanted, I even got a banquet, a larger island and yes a beverage cooler where my husband can keep his drinks. One thing about his crew, they are so nice and honest that I never felt uneasy leaving them in my house while we were at work. One thing you need to do, when Todd says he is ready to start you better have lights, fixtures, and other things within his scheduled time, they work hard and fast. If I ever have anything else done I will definently choose Todd and his Crew. Very Honest People, and his quoted price was right on it.

Read on to find out why you should also hire Todd Phillips Construction for your project..... Our son was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (progressive terminal disease) in 2004. We were unable to sell our house and move into a suitable handicap accessible house due to the weak housing market so we finally decided to invest in a remodel. Over the course of a year, we met with several builders and most would not return for a second visit or return our phone calls due to my overly ambitious renovation plans. My wife found Todd Phillips Construction on Angie's List and we knew immediately that he was going to be the builder that would help us realize our dream remodel. During our first meeting, Todd walked step by step through our remodel plans and literally on the back of napkin estimated every expense that this project would incur. He said that if we selected him that a more formal estimate would be prepared. After Todd was selected he immediately brought in all of his sub contractors to build a formal proposal. The detailed proposal was within 10% of the original back of the napkin estimate. Todd's quote was 50% less than the other contractor who was selected as a finalist. The second contractor provided almost no detail in his estimate ($250/sq ft for the Kitchen & $100/sq ft for the bedroom and handicap bathroom). This is a lot of writing to simply say that Todd Phillips understands the entire construction process from materials, labor, quality of finish, sub contractor pricing, time lines, and especially how to exceed his customers expectations. A few of the memorable highlights from our project are Todd?s ethics, honesty, and integrity. He does exactly what he promises and does not try to cut corners or hit you with surprise expenses. He owns the project from start to finish. Prior to starting our job, Todd called me twice with thoughts and ideas he had while sleeping (I think) about modifications that we should make to our remodel plans. The first idea was to recess the support beams in the ceiling so that we would end up with a smooth flat ceiling versus having large cased openings between the rooms where walls were removed. This absolutely made a huge difference in the finished project. The second idea was for the flooring system for our son's handicap bedroom & bathroom. Todd saved us over $5,000 by coming up with a plan to avoid installing a concrete slab floor. And my favorite memory was a comment he made as I was trying to cut expenses, Todd said, "I understand that this is your house but you need to understand that this is my house too. If we are going to do this project then we are going to do it right and I am not going to let you make a mistake that we both have to live with". Todd completely took ownership of making this remodel perfect. It has been a month since Todd turned our house back over to us and I still find myself sitting in the Family Room staring into our new custom kitchen with childlike amazement. The Crazy Horse granite installed on the kitchen island is the centerpiece of the project. Todd?s granite supplier did an amazing job with the semi-precious (leathered) finish. Everyone who comes into our house is immediately drawn to the island and stares at it like a piece of artwork. The catalyst for this project was our need for handicap accessibility. Todd worked with his sub contractors to build a custom matching concrete and brick handicap ramp and patio so that our son can easily get into the house. In our son?s bathroom he made sure the fixtures and custom slate roll-in shower were built to ADA specifications. Close attention to detail was paid throughout this project to make sure our son?s needs were being taken care of and that this house was going to be our perfect home. Todd Phillips Construction will be the only call we make for future projects and I highly recommend that you give him a call too.

They care about the work they do and it shows. My home looks brand new! The curb appeal is amazing now. They are very professional and I would definitely hire them again. I feel so blessed that I found them. Quality materials and quality workmanship was my number one priority. I wanted the very best in both areas because I didn't just want to end up with home improvements that looked cosmetically appealing. Equally important to me was to end up with solid improvements that are going to last and Todd and his great sub contractors understood that and for me, that's what really matters.

This was the forth house that we have built. We used contractors for all of the houses. The building experience with Todd was by far the best of all. Why? For three very good reasons: 1. SUBS He made available for us to use some excellent sub-contractors. We were pleasantly surprised at being able to get the best in the area when we had heard that it was very difficult to get contractors to do what they say they will do it when you want it done. These were loyal subs that Todd had built a relationship with over his 20 plus years of experience. We got the benefit of all those years of building the best group of subs in the area. 2. HARD WORKING Todd was on the job, correcting any issues we had, putting in the long hours to make sure that there was follow-through on any issues that we brought to his attention. He worked for us in ways I never saw our other contractors do. 3. GOOD WORKING RELATIONSHIP- Todd was very easy to work with. He returned calls, answered questions, gave us good counsel and options, but never took over where we wanted it done a certain way. I would recommend Todd to anyone wanting a good house building experience.

Todd and his crew did an excellent job on a custom bathroom remodel project. He listened carefully to what we wanted which was out of the ordinary. He suggested ways to economize, although we decided to go with higher budget materials. When we had a small plumbing problem at the end, he was back within a day to get it fixed.

I found Todd on Angie's List and I thought from previous reviews builders he would be the type of person I would like to do business with. We met in Dalton, GA, in January 2013 to discuss the house I wanted to build and the type of lot I wanted. Todd went many extra miles in helping me find a lot. We spent two long afternoons driving all over northwest Georgia looking at available land but didn't find exactly what I was looking for. I had to return to Houston and shortly thereafter I found on the internet a wooded lot for sale in the right area and for the right price. Todd arranged for a real estate agent to video the property and neighborhood for me. I decided to buy it. and flew back to Georgia for the closing. In May I moved to an apartment in Dalton and waited for my house in Houston to sell before starting to build about July 1, 2013. A week before construction was to start, I decided for several reasons not to build the house I had plans for and switched to another plan. Although I'm sure Todd was taken aback, he didn't have any objections or problems canceling some things that had already been ordered and started to build the new house as scheduled. Never having a custom house before, I depended on Todd and people and companies he deals with for direction and advice and I believe they all served me well. Minor changes and adjustments were done promptly and satisfactorily. Todd told me I would probably be in the house by the end of August or early September. Once construction started, it proceeded with few delays, even though it rained almost every day. I moved in August 30th. I love the results and would highly recommend Todd and his team to anyone who is interested in having a house tailored to their needs (I'm shorter than average) and desires.

They were very professional and knowledgeable. We hope to receive a loan modification and principle reduction on our home. If this does happen, we will be using Todd Philips Construction for part of the work.

Mr. Phillips and his crew were extremely professional. When we called Mr. Phillips, he answered all of our calls. When we needed Mr. Phillips, he was always there for whatever we needed. Mr. Phillips made our wishes become a reality when we discussed our vision for what we wanted to do with the room. Mr. Phillips worked to see that our budget was met and even saved us money whenever possible. Also, his crew worked just as hard to make our garage into our dream family room. We were very pleased with what they did and very impressed with the time they did all the work in. Can't really say enough great things about the crew. We really appreciated all the hard work they put into our room.

Mr. Phillips explained that he isn't very computer literate and therefore had not seen my e-mail. After talking with him I am still interested in meeting with him.
