Beaulieu Carpets

I bought a new home back on April 9, 2010. The carpet in the home is manufactured by Beaulieu Residential out of Dalton Georgia. It is a "twist" style carpet that existed in the home before we bought the home. We are the first family to reside in the home. We filed a claim for poor carpet performance as some of the traffic areas are now looking fuzzy and frayed. A certified independent inspector was hired by Beaulieu to come out and view the carpet condition and make a report for the claim. The report states the carpet wear is due to the use of our Dyson vacuum cleaner using the beater bar and its lack of adjustment for different carpet types. The Dyson Ball DC25 All Floors has an automatic height adjustment and the suction only function is for use on wood and tile floors. The Beaulieu claims rep further states that carpets constructed using a pile yarn of 1 inch and greater should be vacuumed using a suction only vacuum. I have never heard before that carpet should be vacuumed using suction only as the beater bar serves to remove dirt and debris from the carpet. At any rate, the independent inspector was a hired gun for Beaulieu in order to get out of addressing our issue with the carpet. Beaulieu clearly does not intend to stand behind their product and would rather make excuses for the product's poor performance. I want to let others know to steer clear of any Beaulieu product.
