Ragsdale Heating, Air & Plumbing

On Thursday last week, I tried to install a new thermostat myself, but could not complete the install. It was in the high 90's around 3PM that afternoon, when I decided to call for help. Not only did Ragsdale immediately dispatch a technician, but he arrived within 2 hours of my initial call, and stayed till after 6 pm (normal hours) to insure the AC worked correctly and didn't charge me overtime!

Our first encounter with Ragsdale was late last summer, around August. We have had problems with both our upstairs and downstairs units over the past four years, and we were finally fed up and wanted the upstairs unit replaced. Ben came out, diagnosed the problem, and quoted us for the replacement of the unit. The price was more than reasonable, considering we had paid three other companies over the two years prior to "fix" different issues. The unit was promptly installed and immediately worked like a champ. At that time, our downstairs unit was functional. Fast forward to this year, Ragsdale put in multiple calls, emails, and even a mailed letter to us reminding us of the routine maintenance that was due on our upstairs unit. I am thankful that they are that dedicated to ensuring the quality of their work. As it happens, our downstairs unit has now taken a turn. Ben came back out and quoted us for a new downstairs unit with his professional recommendations. He is very professional and knowledgeable, and we are thankful to have had him out again. Our routine maintenance check for the upstairs unit was today, and Sam swung by to check out the systems. He not only gave us the best maintenance check and tune up, but he gave us some warnings about both units running so much and how we could lower our electric bill. We will not be going anywhere else for our HVAC needs! I highly recommend Ragsdale and all of their staff.

Quickly came out and charged up my A/C unit. Technician was friendly and attentive to my HVAC needs.

For the most part, we have been happy with them. We pay annually for them to come and service our unit twice a year. However, the only thing we dislike about is it does not cover any additional services. We bought our AC unit through them and if you do not pay for the annual service, it voids your warranty which we did not know going into it until after the fact when it was installed. I like that they offer a pretty wide range of services. The staff that we have always dealt with has been really knowledgeable for the most part.

I called this morning and gave a description of the problem -- even when the turn-off valve at the toilet was completely off, water continued to drip from valve and water continued to fill tank to overflowing. I was up all last night emptying saucepan catching water dripping from valve and scooping out excess water from tank. I needed help! The lady who answered the phone expressed her desire to provide the business' help with the problem. She explained that they had calls that they were on today; but, someone would be out TODAY. I would receive a call about 30 minutes before plumber's arrival. When he arrived at my home, he did so in a well-marked van. He wore a shirt displaying business name. He identified himself. I showed him the problem. He told me what he would do and got right to work. Within, I would say, 20 minutes, he was done. He explained what he had done and why he did what he did. The cost was within reason. My use of the business' coupon proved to be a tremendous help.

I called to get a quote for a new AC system in our downstairs. They set up an appt for the next day. One of their sales reps came over. He went up into the attic to look at our unit and outside as well. He started out by asking who installed our upstairs ac system a few years ago. He said that they did not install it correctly and that they used the wrong size coil for the outdoor Carrier unit. He said that he would re-install the coil for an additional $250. He said that they did a terrible job and didn't know what they were doing. He was an expert on those units, so he knew how it is supposed to be installed. I didn't appreciate him starting out with scare tactics. I asked some of the other company reps that came out to give us estimates, and they said that the coil was bit large for the furnace, but that it is fine as long as it's sealed properly. The tape had come loose, but it just needed retaping. The sales rep was unprofessional in that he was using profanity while talking to me. That was a big turn off to me as I felt it was disrespectful. The price that he quoted me was around $800 more than a comparable unit from a competitor. Plus, he added in the cost of "fixing" our other AC coil.

They were very good. I’m very happy with them. If they were going to come late, they kept me notified with that. They found the problem and they repaired it.

Aaron was prompt,courteous and professional. After the inspection and tune-up, he explained what he did and what he recommended, with no pressure, just the facts. We are very pleased with Ragsdale and are now on an annual service plan with them. We recommend them highly.

The representative arrived on time and was nice to deal with but that's where the positive experience ended. He went into the attic and spent about 10 minutes looking at the system and, I assume, trying to find a way to make the bid bigger. He came down to tell me that he thought I needed a zoned system that would cost me more than $8,000. When I indicated I thought that was excessive in such a small house, he said "well then I guess we are wasting each other's time." I advised him that the two prior bids had been for replacement of the system and that they were less than half of the price. He said well then go do business with them. I told him I would and I definitely will not do business with Ragsdale in the future. Ragsdale had a good reputation with me before but I was very disappointed.

I purchased a maintenance package from to service my aging unit twice a year. I am very satisfied. They performed a very thorough evaluation and pointed out some issues where my units had been way "over serviced" by my home warranty company. Everything that they mentioned was right in line with all the repairs that I had in the last two years. The technician had some concerns about a few things, and set up another appointment to have a senior technician come out and take a second look. I really appreciate their thorough overview and recommendations.

I have not had a problem since they have been doing it. I like the comprehensive of it. They do everything from shampooing the outside do blowing out the air ducts. They do basically everything at once.

Arrived on time. Did exactly what was agreed upon in the walk though. Cleaned up afterwards and finished very quickly. Their price was 1/3 that of others and I didn't have ot wait for estimate.

Ragsdale has always provided timely and high quality service. I will use them again.

I have a service contract with them. They got the job done in about one hour and 15 minutes. The technicians are outgoing and very attentive to what you say.

I was charged $79 for the plumber to come to the house, this amount was not credited to the bill. Since the work was done I believe that this charge should have been credited. The plumber said we needed a new faucet and that he had .one on the truck. I asked him how much, he said about $100 dollars and I agreed When the bill came in the charge for the faucet was $290 dollars. I called Ragsdale and the girl called the plumber (James) and he said he told me it was 100 dollars for instalation That was a lie. I would never have allowed them to put a $290 faucet in --- I would have bought one myself. I had given my American Express card to the office and the charge was put on that. They did give me a senior discount of 49 dollars------but the bill was still $502.00 withe the discount. And they are # 1 on your list!!!!

First, I emailed them a request for a service call on Sunday, Sept 7th. I received a call promptly Monday morning, and though I couldn't get to the phone, the scheduler left a very polite and professional message, ready to address my concerns. I spoke to someone a few hours later when returning the call and we were able to schedule a service call for today, Tuesday, Sept 9. Not only was Michael on time, but the scheduler called and said he could come early if it was convenient for me. Michael was very polite and professional. He asked what my concerns were and he immediately got to work to figure out what was wrong. Silly enough, it wasn't even an AC issue; it was an electrical issue and a switch needed to be replaced. He offered to fix the switch on the spot so that we didn't have to call someone else to come out and do it. We asked him several other questions about how we could cool our home more efficiently, and he addressed each question with simple responses that gave us all the information we needed. He was more than helpful. Although we opted to have my husband fix the switch (since he works with electrical components), we were completely sold with the professionalism and level of service. We will be calling them back soon to go forward with Michael's suggestions! Highly recommend Ragsdale. Everything about my experience was superior!!

We called a few places to get estimates and Chris B. from Ragsdale Heating and Air was great, he did not push more than what we needed and understood our situation. He was frank about the condition of the existing unit and was able to answer all of our questions. Once we made the decision to go with them, we were put on the schedule right away and this was prime time busy July! The guys (Eddie and Bryant) came to install and were prompt and knew what they were doing - they made quick work of the installation and when they hit a snag, they informed us of the problem and were able to fix that at the same time as the install. When it was all done, they ran the vacuum cleaner!! and cleaned up any mess they made, the house was left exactly as it was when they arrived. Eddie explained how the new thermostat worked since it was digital and it replaced the old fashioned kind, one with the slider. The unit has been working great since the install and we have no complaints - if we need any service when winter comes for our heating unit/furnace, we will definitely be calling them. From start to finish, they were all very professional!

They are very professional and know what they are doing. They are courteous. The technicians who come over are good natured and friendly. They answer all your queries and the people at the office are also very good.

So far, the service our family has received from Ragsdale Heating, Air and Plumbing has been excellent. We have been using their services for nearly a year now. The first time a Ragsdale technician came to our house was due to some issues we were having with the air conditioner last spring. The problem was easily resolved and we signed up for a service contract for the maintenance of our furnace and air conditioner. Today, two technicians from Ragsdale, Heating, Air and Plumbing came out to our house for a maintenance check of our furnace and air conditioner. The window I chose for their arrival was between 10 am and 2 pm. They arrived at 10:15; a pleasant surprise since I didn't have to wait for the full 4 hour window. The last time a technician came out to fulfill the service contract was during the Fall of 2013. Each and every technician that has been sent to our house has been friendly, professional, courteous, and on time. There were NO pushy sales tactics or anything like that; just the honest truth about the condition of our units and the possibility that we may need to change a part on one of our units later but it wasn't urgent. I don't remember the exact cost of the service contract but I do know that it was not some exhorbitant amount (it was less than $200 I believe). And that was a good price for us considering that we had not regularly maintained our units during the 5 years we had been in our home. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a new service provider for their air conditioner and furnace.
