We clarified the timeline for the work, materials needed and expectations of the finished project.  The timeline was followed and the remodeling was completed to my satisfaction.

They were very professional, came out as promised, cleaned up and paid very good attention to detail.

They totally lived up to expectations. They did excellent work, arrived when they said they would, and got the work done in the time that was quoted. They left the work area very clean and were very kind and respectful to my elderly father who lives in the area they were working. I plan to use them again soon to paint the outside of my house and to re-work the gutters on my house.

Before I purchased the coupon for $199.99 I called Penney Brothers and asked them If they could install the shower for me. I spoke with the owner Mr. Penney and he informed me that they could do the job. I then asked about the timing of the job. I asked if it could be done in three hours and I was told yes. He then encouraged me to go ahead and purchase the coupon and call him back to make the appointment. So I purchased the coupon and called to schedule the appointment. I told him that I would purchase the shower and we agreed upon a Home Depot location that was close by for them to pick up the shower. The owner son Brandon arrived with another young man to install my shower, they had my new shower with them. They removed the old shower and begin the install of the new shower. There was two trips made to home depot for parts that I paid for over the phone. During one of the trips  the other worker asked If he could fix something while Brandon went to the store. I had him to  work on a few things for me. Once they had all the parts they installed the shower. I also had a new facet for the shower that I wanted installed. They then informed me that they don't do much plumbing and that I would need a plumber. By this time the owner Mr. Penney came and he checked out the work and told them to let me know of a plumber that I could use that would charged me to put the shower facet on. I declined the service of the plumber and said I would get my own. Eight hours it took for the job to be finished. I was told the my bill was $800.00.(I was not given a written bill) I disagreed with the bill. I was told that I had to pay for each man on the job. The coupon didn't read that way. So I only paid for one man. I paid $300.00 and including the coupon that's $499.99 total. I was told not to use the shower because of the facet not  attached. The next day i just poured water down the drain of the shower to make sure it didn't leak because this is why I replaced the old one. Well it leaked the water dripped into my kitchen downstairs. So I called and they came out and told me it leaked because of the shower facet has not been done by the plumber. So they cocked it and said it was fixed. Then I was told to let them know if it leaked again they would come back out. Well it did leak again into my kitchen. So I called the plumber who repaired the leak and put on the new shower facet for me. He informed me that there was from a lack of plumbers puddy around the drain area. I paid him $175.00 to fix the leak and seal the hole in my sealing from the leak . There was a bubble in my sealing from the old shower leaking and once they started the job it completely opened up.(I do not blame them for the hole) I called Penny brothers and informed them of what was done and what was causing the leak. I was told by Brandon that his father Mr Penny asked what I paid for this job. I told him $175.00 I was then told that they would send me a check. I was surprised by this. Brandon told me that they want to do the right thing. I said OK. Well the check was never sent. I think that If a company is going to accept a job that includes plumbing they need to know plumbing. I would not have hired them if I was told of the need for a plumber. The install  took longer than I was told, but that's because of the lack of experience in plumbing. I was told by Mr. Penney that I got a good deal on the shower installation because I didn't pay for the other worker. He said the this job  normally cost $2800.00. I don't agree with that I had already priced this job for tiling and could have had they shower tiled for less that $2800.00. I am presently using my new shower and it now leaks where the shower door closes. I leave a towel on the floor to soak up the water. It was not installed correctly so now I have to get that redone by my handyman. Penney Brothers always returned my calls and was very friendly and nice when talking and working with them. I just wished I didn't have to write such a negative review of my experience.

During the period of time when they were installing the door, one of team members was smoking, thus smoke was entering through the back door. Also, the team leader was unnecessarily rude to his staff, which I didn’t like.  Overall, the work they did was very good.

I purchased the 40 hour Big Deal.  Mr. Penney came to my home prior to look at the work I wanted done.  I showed him multiple items and he said only the living room could be completed in the 40 hours. To be sure the work could be completed, myself and a friend took out the old mirrors & upper trim.  When they arrived to do the work, I asked about some other items, but Mr. Penney said the living room would be all, so that was OK.  I mentioned very strongly that I could not afford more than I had already paid and to let me know before going over the hours.  The crew of 2 full time workers (and Mr. Penney for some hours) worked very slow and they left twice to go to Home Depot for parts, go to the bank, etc.  These hours were taken from the 40 I had purchased.  I had to ask Mr. Penney how they were on hours and he said they were close & would let me know.  About an hour later he called to tell me that they were over by 2 hours and would need another 3 to complete the job.  He would give me a discounted rate of $100 an hour.  I told him I could not afford any more, but would work with them on this.  They left to purchase some trim and he called to say it was not available, but he could make it and he would still need 3 hours to finish (in addition to an hour to get the trim).  So, we are now at 6 hours additional.  At this point, I told him I could not be adding to the hours every time he contacted me and for them to leave.  I feel as if they got it and had me over a barrell to get the work finished so had to pay additional hours.  I am disputing with Mr. Penney, the 2 hours over without my authorization. I was left with a room that is 70% finished.

Brandon and his helper arrived on time with materials and was not only very nice but cleaned up well after the job.   I will definitely call the next time i have odd jobs around the house

I purchased an Angie's Big deal for 3 hours of handymen work for $199 and planned to have 3 projects I had in mind done. It involved putting up paneling in a bathroom, opening up a long window bench and closing up an opening above the fireplace that was meant for a TV. I guess a list was a little too big for this big deal. What I hope to be a good deal turned out a lot more expensive than I expected. I had emailed Brandon the list along with pictures and dimensions but when they got here at 2PM I had to explain everything again.  Brandon had to go to Home Depot to get some supplies and took about an hour and half. Corey started work but barely got much done.  When Brandon got back, things finally kicked into gear. By the end of the 3 hours, none of the 3 projects were near completion. I didn't want to leave the projects half done so I asked them continued to work. Everything was finally done at 10PM! 5 hours over at $60/person. Toward the end, everything got sloppy. The paneling in the bathroom was done but with nails sticking out in several place and some weren't exactly level. The bench is still not usable because the lid won't stay open. The opening above the fireplace was done but got screws sticking out. I felt bad they worked so late so I let them go home without cleaning everything up and frankly I didn't want to pay for any extra hours. At the end, I felt I was over charged for mediocre workmanship.

They last stopped showing up about two weeks ago. They abandoned this project and have no right to keep my money. I found the vanity backsplash in the pile of trash and it still needs to be connected, the shower and bath fixtures need to be put in, the "hammock arbor" that they put in is just planks of wood and I requested that latticework be added but it still has not, and the walls behind each of the 4 toilets in the home need to be painted. There is also a ceiling tile in the basement that is missing and I can’t find. Under no circumstances is Brandon Penney allowed back in my home. He has my key and I want that back. I either want them to finish the project or refund my money.

I paid for 3 extra hours to finish patching ceiling & to paint small half bathroom...they did not finish bathroom nor did they trim it out. Will have to hire someone else to complete this project.

Overall, the experience was good. They did a great job. The only issue was that Kevin didn’t have a receipt for the supplies that he bought from Lowe’s. I went to Lowe’s and they were able to find the receipt, and everything was okay. Initially, what they had done on the roof didn’t work, but they spent the entire next day to fix it without charging me any extra. He was honest and very good to work with. I ended up being very happy with the service and the work that they did.

Everything went exactly as requested, from scheduling appointment to completion of jobs.  I was very satisfied and will be calling them again for other jobs.

The guys were very punctual and the communication was very good as well.
I spoke with the head handyman (Brandon?) several times on the phone, and they were very patient and willing to work around my somewhat erratic scheduling without a hitch.

I had a long list of things to do and they tackled the tasks immediately and with confidence.
After the "Big Deal" coupon time was up, they politely indicated that they could either stop then or continue, at a reduced rate per hour from the normal rate.  I asked them to continue after that.

After this time, however, the assistant seemed to slow down a little and stood around for long periods of time while the head handyman was busy at work cutting pieces of crown moulding. 
He also lacked a bit in professionalism. 
The head guy was always more than extremely professional in attitude and efficiency.
I thought that the assistant could have spent the leaning time doing some small things, such as cleaning the old caulk that he ended up leaving in the bathtub, or helping me more with removing the caulk  that I was struggling with around the sink.
He was friendly enough but at that point I was paying the dude $60 per hour to mostly talk, which was rather frustrating.
I should not complain too much because the crew really did a ton of work in only 4 hours.  I feel that I got a very good deal.

Overall, I would absolutely hire this company again.
Because of the rocking awesomeness of Brandon, I would recommend them in an instant.
They never for a moment made me feel that I should get less quality or was not important because I was using a coupon.
I appreciate that and their old-fashioned business sense is impressive.

Fair at best.

They floored the attic and put plywood down. They didn't finish it because they arrived late but they came back and finished later. I am happy with their services. They were very nice, worked very hard, and cleaned up their mess when they were finished.

I was very satisfied with them.  They did excellent work.  I would recommend them.

They were very nice people.  They did an excellent job following all of the instructions and making sure it was safe.  They were incredibly respectful.  They cleaned up after themselves.

Two gentlemen showed up and got right to work. very neat, clean and respectful of our home. The deal we had was 6 hours worth of handyman work. They sent two men over for a total of three hours. because we had some electrical work done in the kithchen we had multiple areas where our electrician had cut into the sheet rock. Given that plus the small water damage we had in the upstairs hall (plus a few more areas around the house) we thought it would be a great idea to make use of this offer and make a geat contact along the way. We are very pleased with their work.

I needed some work done so I took advantage of the big deals on Angie's List.  I was very satisfied with the quality of work done by this company.  They installed my doggy door and ceiling fans in a professional way.  I was happy with their punctuality.

Smooth sailing, he had a crew of 2 or 3 here working day after day to complete the job to my satisfaction.  I plan to have them back to replace the remaining gutters and do some other repair work in the spring.

We did play phone tag for quite a while (weeks) before we got in touch with each other.  However, it should be noted that when I left at least one of my messages, I did say the jobs weren't urgent.  Once the appointment was set they showed up on time.  All the people on the team were friendly and professional and I am quite happy with the quality of the work they did.  I do wish they had done a little better job cleaning up after they were done.  A few old parts were left and they didn't put the items from under our sinks back after they were done replacing the faucets.  I will use these guys again.

They were very nice to work with.

I had a lot of little stuff to be done and it took them way too long to do one little thing.  There were two guys here.  I had an electrician follow up on the electrical work and he said they did it wrong.  The electrician said they put a three way switch on and I only needed a one way switch.  Do not use these guys.  You can never get ahold of the owner.  The two guys he sent out were supposedly general contractors, but they did not know what they were doing.  The owner has employees that do no know what they are doing.
