Description of Work: They put wood down in my attic area.

Description of Work: Once the Project was approved by the Home Owners ASSC., Mr Penney was Off to get the Permit.. A couple days later a garbage container arrived and a couple days after that roofing shingles arrived. The next day him and one worker showed up started inspecting the Deck. Mr . Penney again left to purchase supplies and left the lone worker who was disassembling the deck. I paid him haft of the cost at that time. He would say he would have his gutter people or his roofing people out but would not show for days at a time. The first day back I asked him if he got the permit and he stated sure did, everything is good to go or words to that effect. At that time I had know reason not to think he didn't have one , I later learned he in fact had gotten a permit , but that he had know liciense, nor had he posted a bond, all required in Cobb county. Finally he showed with a few workers and started with the removal of a few shingles and later some rolls of tar paper. Didn.t see him the next day till late as rain storms approached and him and another guy secured a tarpe on the roof. We had a couple days rain an no work was done and I finally had become worried about the professonalism of this Company. With a little research , I soon found out their was know permit, bond, or Lic. I received some sound advice on how to proceed and given some options on how to handle the situation. I confronted Mr Penney at which time he admitted he lied and offered another discount if I would get the Permit. All work was stopped he had to draw up plans which were unsat and with help from the city I received help on the plans which were sufficient on the 2nd submission. The cities Inspector had checked the progress at that point and was impressed with the work at that time is why I allowed Mr. Penney to complete the construction. When we finally parted ways, I tried to tell Mr. Penney he really needed to secure a Lic., etc, However, he said from now on if someone wanted to hire him they would haft to get the permit. After many worried days I can now relax and enjoy my screen porch. Would I hire him again, h*** no, man lied to me. William Boston
