Latino Heating and Air Inc. responded in a very timely fashion and scheduled an appointment within a day. Felix called ahead of time to make sure I was home and promptly arrived in the time-frame window I was given. He was very kind, professional, and informative. I asked a lot of questions as the unit is old and wanted to know what to do if we experienced more problems. He told me what to look for and steps to take should I have more issues. Overall a VERY positive experience! I would definitely do business with this company again.
Description of Work: AC outside stopped working and the line froze up. We contacted our Home Warranty Company HWA who contracts work with Latino Heating and Air Inc.

The tech was scheduled to arrive between 9 and 1 and arrived at about 1. The first thing the tech did was ask if I had any air filters. I said yes, but explained I had replaced the filter one week prior and said it should not need replacing, but he replaced it anyway. Next, he said the head pressure was an extremely high 350 PSI and the cause of the high pressure was a dirty condenser and he would have to clean it with a special acid only available to HVAC professionals. I made a call to a friend who owns a commercial HVAC service company who said the price was more than double what he charges and cautioned me this is a common abuse among residential HVAC services. Sadly, my desire to have A/C was greater than this guy's BS so I authorized the work. Some twenty minutes later, head pressure dropped a miraculous 70 PSI. But, then he started a song and dance about my warranty only covers $10 per pound of R22 freon and his company charges $65 per pound. Fortunately or unfortunately, a lighting storm started preventing him from soaking me for another $130. My A/C is still not cooling and upon inspection of his special condenser cleaning could find no evidence he had performed any cleaning. Dead bugs, pinestraw were undisturbed and just for curiosity sake, i tested pH levels around the base of the unit and found the pH to be 5 (pretty much neutral). Bottom line, don't waste your money with these unethical people.

We bought a new house last fall and our realtor purchased a home warranty for us (Old Republic). Latino works with the warranty company and they were assigned to us to fix our a/c. This company prides themselves on being sure they charge you for "maintenance" which is outside of the coverage and repairs under a home warranty. Our air went out 3 weeks ago and for starters, they were supposed to be here by 9:30am on a Saturday. They did not show up until well after 7pm that evening. In addition to our trade call fee of $100, they charged us $150 to spray something on the unit to clean it--which is considered maintenance. They didn't even touch the unit, replace anything, or change anything out and we were charged $250!!! We've paid $140 for a maintenance plan in years past to have our furnace AND air covered for routine maintenance. We paid $150 to have acid sprayed on our unit and the unit is not working again 3 weeks later!! When the warranty company tried to have them come out to see why-- after 3 weeks and $250 later-- our air is still malfunctioning they refused to come out. They were called on a Saturday because this is the day our air went out AGAIN. They supposedly could not come out until Monday morning. When we called Monday morning to get an exact time, they said they never got the work order until Sunday, which is untrue because we have an email dated for Saturday from the warranty company. We spoke with Latino on Saturday after the warranty company told us they would come out to follow-up since they were just here 3 weeks ago (and the callback was within 30 days). Latino told my husband on Saturday it would be Monday morning before they could come. When we called Monday morning, Latino claimed they never got the work order until Sunday. When we expressed our concerns about them having to come out again 3 weeks later and requested a more specific time frame other than "Monday morning", they refused to come. Millie said she was going to have Old Republic send someone else out since I was unsatisfied. Excuse me??? Is it customary to quit a job because the customer is unsatisfied?? No. You complete what you started so the customer will be satisfied. I would run like heaven from this company if they are dispatched through a warranty company! Run!! You're going to pay more than the trade line fee and you may not get satisfactory service.
Description of Work: They were supposed to repair our A/C. They came out and they did not change anything out, they did not replace any parts, they repair anything. They sprayed acid on our unit and three weeks and $250 later we are hot--literally and figuratively--because whatever Latino did--did NOT work.
