Gary came out the same day I called and gave us an estimate. He made suggestions about which trees needed to be removed. We are extremely pleased with the whole process. He had us scheduled and within a couple of days the work was completed. He has a huge crew that works quickly and gets the job done within several hours. We love that he called and gave us a time frame on the day the crew would be working. He came back by to check on the job after it was completed to make sure we were happy with the work. They did a great job taking down the trees and cleaning up the yard. The yard looks great!!

The guys at Yellow Ribbon did a great job. They promptly returned our phone call and came the next day to give an estimate. They scheduled a time they could do the work and even called to let us know they'd be coming a day early. They did a nice job trimming and cleaned up well. Everyone was friendly and professional. We will use them again in the future.

This the second time we've hired Gary Robertson and his team, since we were impressed with the work they did two years ago. As before, Gary returned my initial call within two hours and made an appointment to give an estimate. He arrived two minutes early, walked with us around the property, took notes, and gave a detailed written estimate on the spot. On the day of our job, the entire crew showed up promptly at 7:30. Before they started, Gary, his foreman, and I walked our property, and Gary marked every tree to take out or trim. It's amazing how fast and professionally this team takes down trees. Pretty cool to watch if you've never seen big trees cut down before. They stopped at noon for a thirty minute lunch, and then got right back to work. Trees were cut down, run through the chipper, stumps ground, everything cleaned up and the crew gone before 3:00. A flawless job! We live in a subdivision, and have a fenced-in backyard, so the guys were very careful with not only our property, but those of our neighbors, as well. As homeowners, it's important to us that Yellow Ribbon is Licensed and Insured, Workers' Compensation and Liability. FYI: The first time we hired them, we got 3 estimates from comparable companies. Yellow Ribbon was the middle estimate, but they were the best insured and Gary the most knowledgeable owner since he's also a certified Arborist. This time, we only called Gary. There may be cheaper tree removal companies out there, but I doubt you'll find a better one.

I got him from Angie's List. I hired him for our community. He was very professional. They worked very quickly. It was like watching a dance. Everything just went so smooth right down the line. They trimmed all the trees and cleaned up after themselves. They got a lot of compliments from our community from the work they did. His workers were all very courteous and very friendly. There was no problem, they just went along and did their job. They were very nice to watch and work with. Actually this is the second time we've used them for our community. It's a hundred and seventy eight townhome community. We hire him outside of our landscaping company to take care of the trees because that is his specialty.

The owner, Mr. Robertson, came out a week prior to our appointment to get exactly what I wanted done and explained what they would do. The next week, they showed up on time and finished in one day and cleaned up very nicely. Mr. Robertson was extremely professional and made it easy to trust his company/employees. They even gave me a discount for being an Angie's List member.

Gary and his team are great. We've used his company several times in the past and he did another good job today. Always upfront and on time. A++

It would have been within the past year. It was $1100. Yearly, I have known Gary, I have had him do work and found him for about the past 7 or 8 years. He is just knowledgeable, ex-military, and straight to the point, he also has a degree agent in Harvard and you can ask him other questions about trees, and he will just say you flood out, that is not the problem or this is the problem. His crews are always very good, timely, clean up after themselves, do what they say they will be going to do, do what I ask them to do, tell me what I have asked them to do, has been practical, and he always did everybody else’s surprises which is why a sort of thing with them out to get another estimate, I am taking trees down that this call be yours.

Excellent service! Gary returned my call for an estimate the same day, we set day/time for onsite visit and Gary showed within the timeframe that we agreed to. He took the time to explain how he'd remove the tree, being careful to remove it in sections to reduce the chance that removal would damage the house and a nearby wooden fence. Once I had all bids in I decided on Yellow Ribbon (they were slightly more in cost, but they were also the only company that seemed to understand the need for a careful removal to avoid potential damage to house/fence). After I left a message to Gary to let him know he won the work he called me back with a block of time his crew could be out at the house to remove the tree (weather permitting). Luckily the weather was sunny and his crew removed the tree in almost no time; they completely cleaned up the area and except for a slight stump (stump grinding/removal not requested) it would be difficult to tell there had been a tree there at all.

They arrived at 8:00 AM and started taking down a large dead pine tree using a bucket truck and at the same time started taking down another large pine tree (about 30 feet from the house). They lowered the limb using rope without damaging any plants or other trees. As soon as they finished a tree they mover to the next tree. While all the cutting was going on they started chipping all the limbs and smaller parts of the trunk (up to about 12 inches in diameter). All this created two complete trucks of chips. while the first truck load was hauled away the grinder arrived started grounding the stumps. They had very good equipment and everyone seems to have a job and stayed busy. They finished all this in less than 6 hours including lunch.

I would highly recommend this company and we would definitely use them again. They were professional, courteous and efficient with their time. Everything was done in about an hour and they cleaned up the yard of all debris and branches. Even though they were in a very busy time we were never treated like we were a small job to them. They came out when they said they would and did a great job.

Gary and his crew was great. Very responsive. Communication clear and concise. Customer service was awesome not just from Gary but from the entire crew. The job done was exactly what we were looking for. The tree was close to the house. The guys were very careful not to drop branches on the house... they didn't. Heck they didn't even disturb the mature azalea's at the base of the tree. They cleaned up and left it just like they found it, minus one large oak tree. I highly recommend Yellow Ribbon.

They arrived when they said they would. The cost was what he said it would be. They removed a ton of branches and dead branches and trees. They removed some other trees and branches that were on the roof. Their clean up was perfect. They had about 7 men working this project and all of them were nice and professional. I would recommend and hire them again.

Gary Robertson and his large crew were prompt, courteous, professional and did a fabulous job. It was a difficult job as they had to remove heavy debris that was in a creek bed so it was damp. They then had to move it to the street so it could be hauled away. They did this quickly and efficiently. Even with the use of heavy equipment, damage to shrubs and grass was minimal. I would use them again in a heartbeat and would recommend them to friends. It was a tough job and they made it seem easy.

This company gave great service and price. We had a miscommunication on scheduling but they more than made up for it. Very professional and fast while removing the our trees. Afterwards, they cleaned up the area and blew off debris from lawn. I highly recommend this company.

Went well. Clean up could have been a little better, but they came on the spur of the moment late on a Friday afternoon after completing a nearby job.

Gary came out right away to give the estimate. His estimate was for $500 for 4 trees. This was a little higher than the other estimate, but he was going to either grind the stumps, or remove them which the other tree company could not do. Gary's crew came out the next week to do the work. We had asked that a couple of other small trees be removed also and they did that for an additional $175. They did the work, but we found out later that outdoor lighting had been damaged. I called Gary the next day and he had a professional lighting company come out to repair the damage, and they did a very good job. I would use Gary again because of the professionalism in taking care of any issues. In this kind of job with deep roots things can happen, but all is good now.

The guys at Yellow Ribbon were extremely professional and great to deal with. I submitted a request over for quote at 11pm and by noon the following day, the tree was gone! They hauled off all of the debris and left my yard looking great!. They even cut the stump real low to the ground and placed pine-straw over it. I would definitely recommend this company!

They were able to remove the tree for me. They did it piece by piece without damaging the property. They cleaned up great. I was very happy with the service. I would highly recommend them to others.

They did an excellant job. The estimate Gary gave was very reasonable. Actually ended up paying a little less. They were there when they said they would be and cleaned up everything when they left. Would definately use them in the future.

I found Gary's ad / coupon in the recent Angie's List magazine. There were numerous companies listed, but I don't have time to call around and meet many people for estimates. I had one estimate earlier that was part of a larger landscaping estimate, but I thought going with someone who does this full time might be a better approach. That said, I looked at the ads, and Gary's stood out. His support of our troops is admirable, and honestly, it's the one I thought my dad would be most likely to call. I gave it a shot. Gary was quick to respond and set up a meeting for an estimate. His estimate seemed reasonable for the work requested. (He actually suggested cutting down one more small tree while he was out there - at no additional cost - but I hate the thought of cutting down live trees. Of course, now I am wondering if I made the right decision or if I will come to regret that one in a couple of years.) To explain the work needed, a previous home owner agreed to cut down a few dead trees that were too close to the house. They would pay for them to come down, but not to remove the stumps or haul the trees away. They selected the company, the trees came down, and for the last couple of months, I have had tree segments rotting on my land. The trees should have been cut down differently, but instead of being usable for lumber, they were cut into 4-8 foot pieces. After the estimate, I called Gary a day or two later and told him I was ready to proceed. He said he could have his crews to my house the following Tuesday, and sure enough, they were there promptly at 8. I think there were 4 or 5 guys, not counting Gary, all in trucks with the company's name. There were big machines, little machines, machines chopping the trees into chips, etc. (Sorry, but I am no expert.) They were polite, prompt, and despite the size of the job, completely gone by the time I came home on my lunch break. I look forward to creating a lovely landscape in our new yard, and while I hope I don't have any troubles in the near future, I would certainly call Gary and Yellow Ribbon Tree Services if I did.

They gave me an estimate. I had a situation with them. The estimate was higher than other companies. He was arrogant and when I tried to negotiate with him. The figures were high estimate wise. He was rude. I found him offensive on the phone. I gave him a price and he told me I was trying to take advantage of him and he got hostile. I called them repeatedly after and they ignored me. I got angry because they just ignored me. I ended up writing them a letter. I did not use their services.

They arrived as scheduled and very quickly did all of the work I had contracted for plus some extra work for which they did not charge me extra. Gary and all of his workers were very friendly and easy to talk to and they did a great cleanup job. I was more than pleased with the work they did. Great experience!!

I was placed inbetween a rock and a hard spot by my home insurance company. I was threatened to remove a tree and stump or risk cancellation of my policy. I called around to several tree servicing companies and received about 4 quotes, and Yellow Ribbon was the fourth and last company for me to meet with. I did not expect to meet Gary, the owner himself for the bid. The first thing you should know about Gary is that he's NEVER late! Gary arrived 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Gary is extremely professional, honest, and his number one priority is to educate the customer on how you can save the trees. Even if it means he will lose out on some money. As an arborist, he has thought me so much. Gary took his time and told me about the life or death of every tree on my property. I knew that no matter what others claim to would've charged me, I was going with Gary. He is extremely personable and made me feel like I had a say in what I wanted done to my property. I agreed to his bid, on Saturday afternoon, came home from work Monday afternoon to a polished lanscaped view of my home. Absolutely no evidence of him and his wonderful crew being there. Gary even took the time to write my insurance company for the negligence caused to my property, for unneccesary work/damage done to these trees. UNBELIEVABLE!!! I have already placed a bid with him for additional work. Gary's militant history brings forth a man of honor. He basis his prices specific to the job, versus these other companies who charge the same price no matter the scope of the job. Gary understands that money doesn't grow on trees; that's probably why he tries to save them! =) I know some reviews may seem too good to be true, but thats what I think about Gary! I salute you. Gary Robertson, the owner, came out to inspect the work needed and provide me a proposal of the cost. The visit was scheduled for the day after I first contacted him and he arrived at the scheduled time. From the moment I met Gary, I knew I was going to use his company, unless the proposal cost was out of my range, as he was extremely knowledgeable and very professional. He explained everything that would need to be done, how long it would take to perform the work, and how large a crew he would have onsite. He also explained the significant cost advantage of using motorized equipment to haul the debris from the yard to the street for disposal, and the minor impact of using such equipment on the grassed area was exactly as he had anticipated. He answered all of my questions very patiently and provided great advice in response to some of my inquiries. While I was not necessarily looking for the lowest price for the work I needed done, Gary's proposal matched the lowest price of one of the other proposals I had received. I signed the contract with him during that visit and he scheduled the work to be done within one week. The crew arrived at the exact time on the scheduled day. Every aspect of the job was conducted in the manner in which Gary had described it would be. All of the limbs were lowered to the ground with ropes and they took extra care in avoiding damage to the other trees and bushes. Every member of the crew was friendly and they made it very clear to me that completing the job to my complete satisfaction was the only standard that was acceptable to them. When the job was completed, the only evidence they had even been on my property was the missing trees and the mulch that filled the holes where the stumps had been grinded. The crew left me with specific instructions regarding how long it would take for the mulch to settle and in response to my inquiry, advised I would have excess mulch left over for use in other areas of my yard. All debris was removed from my property and they used a blower to remove all sediment that had landed in the yard, driveway, and porches. The street in front of my home, including the spot where the chipper had been used to dispose of the trees, was equally clean. All members of Gary's team were extremely courteous and professional. I observed much of the work as it was being done and there is no doubt I received a great value given the amount of work they performed. I anticipate having to remove additional trees at some point in the future and will definitely contract with Gary and his company for that work as well. While it may not be directly related to the evaluation for purposes of Angie's List, it is also worth mentioning that I learned Gary is a retired officer of the Army, If his manner of service in the tree business is a reflection of his service to our country, we were fortunate to have him on our side.
