It was good. I had mixed feelings about it for two reasons. The service providers were good. They did everything professionally. I had mixed feelings because some day they would call in a day ahead or two days ahead saying that we are scheduled to come out to you. I scheduled something two months in advance and they just showed up that day. I put it in my calendar but they didn't have any system of giving a courtesy reminder whatever hours before saying that they were scheduled for something. Second was that for something like this, I started thinking that I shouldn't really buy things like these. I buy the deal, they come out and then they pull the big number. It's $39 for $100 of credit, when they came, I thought they over quoted me. There was something I talked with them for $151 but it was $200. I paid the rest of the money to them but I thought that even if I hadn't ought the deal, I would have probably paid the same to somebody else. I didn't have another quote. They did give me a quote of $200 so it meant I have to pay them out of pocket $100 so the deal ended up $140. I didn't feel it was a deal. They ended up going to the old house because they never called me to confirm the appointment or the address. They just looked at the billing address. I don't know if I will use them again.
Description of Work: I was moving into a new house and I knew there was an issue there.

We are most appreciated by customers that have some sort of idea what electrical work costs, and actually have used other electrical companies in the area before. Most electrical companies in this city bill far higher than we do, we pride ourselves on being very reasonable, which explains our constantly booked in advance schedule. Several companies charge $89 just to come out and look at your problem, others charge $150 per hour, with a 3 hour minimum. Others charge by the job, such as we do. Your particular job, we came to your home the first time, nobody was home when we arrived. We rescheduled with you for the following Monday, again, nobody home. So we scheduled a 3rd call with you, and finally showed up when you were home, much to our surprise the address you had supplied Angie's List with was not where your job was, so we drove to your new address. Once there, we performed two separate diagnosis of your electrical system. The first one was for a power loss on your GFCI circuits, we located the source of the problem and we replaced the burned up GFCI in your bathroom, the second diagnosis was on your upstairs bathroom light, we replaced two 3 way switches, and replaced your severely burned up light fixture with a temporary keyless light fixture since we were very concerned with your families safety. You did indeed purchase a coupon. A coupon is a discount on services. It is not a voucher for free electrical work, it is merely a very good deal that allows Angie's List customers the exact same level of service and electrical work, only with a $100 taken off. Everybody else pays full price, and I assure you, we do have thousands of other customers. We did not charge you any extra service fee for your 2 missed appointments. However since this has happened a couple of times over the years, we do see this as an opportunity to add another level of service to how we do things. Having a customer not only miss two appointments, but also not even supply the service provider with a current address leads us to believe that we should look into calling a day or two before to ensure a fluid experience for both us and the customer. As far as feeling upset because we charged you $100 for two circuit diagnosis, 1 GFCI replacement, and 2 three way switch replacements. I highly suggest that when you decide to hang a light fixture in your bathroom, that you call one of the Mister Electrical companies in this region. You will find that our prices are drastically lower than any credible electrical company for our level of service. Thank you for your input however, and we look forward to helping you again in the future!

They replaced a bad switch for my ceiling fan/light combination - even going to the trouble of going to Home Depot to get one - I had purchased one that was incorrect - how many times can you find someone that will go to all the trouble of going to get the right (and less expensive!) switch? ?These guys were awesome - after chatting about the issues I had experienced in my house they looked at my breaker box and found an issue with some breakers - they switched those out as well - these guys are on my "always call" list.

Bought a deal on Angie,s list for $39 and called to set up an appointment...spoke to Chris. He was friendly and professional over the phone. Chris and Nathan showed up right on time. They asked to look at where they were installing the fan and explained that the prepaid deal should cover it unless their was no brace. They went to work and stopped to let me know it did not currently have a brace and let me know what the additional charges would be. They finished up the job in a timely manner and left the area clean. I will definitely use them again.

From start to finish they were wonderful in every way. Chris worked with me on scheduling and was very helpful - worked around my schedule. They were prompt and professional. Some words that apply to this experience include but are not limited to: personable, honest, efficient, trustworthy. These are quality that are too often hard to find and our family will always use them in the future.

They were AWESOME! I had bought the $39 deal 2 weeks ago, and they came, exactly as scheduled, were extremely professional and thorough. They quoted me on a bit of additional work that I had, and we made a date and time then for them to return. As scheduled, they were on time, worked efficiently and neatly. There was some question about accessability between where we had power, and where we wanted it, thinking that in the end, there would be some drywall patching necessary. They really took their time assessing to find a solution that, in the end, required nothing more of me than flipping the switch! They were great. and i have already talked to them about my next project. I would HIGHLY RECOMEMEND THEM!

The 2 gentlemen called ahead, on time, and arrived on time. They were very professional and extremely flexible as I kept adding on outlets to be installed. The biggest positive was their effort to not cut holes in the wall to run the power. An impressive amount of ingenuity was used with a 4-foot drill bit to run through various studs in the attic. Honestly this was the best experience I've had with work on my house.

The Angies list form asked that I suggested a number of dates and times for the service. I gave at least 3. I was contacted promptly and advised that they could be there on Saturday at 1:30 pm because they had another appointment in the area. I was later asked if I could be home at 1:00pm. I advised that 1:00pm was not convenient but If I rushed home from a prior appointment I could be there at 1:15 the earliest. When I arrived at 1:15 I was told by another contractor who was working at my home at the time that Veteran Electric left and said they would probably recommend someone in the area who would be able to perform the service requested instead of them because my residence would be a 2 hour commute for the company. No estimate was left, no one called me to cancel or explain any of this. While I respect the fact that this distance is not convenient there was nothing in the posting or special offer that suggested that VETERAN ELECTRIC OF AMERICA, LLC does not work in my area. I was early for my appointment and did not get a phone call prior to my arrival indicating that they would be early and I have no other call from this company. I will not use them in the future and strongly suggest that they post what zip codes they are willing to work in. --------------------- Following up to the provider response on September 22. The residence is not in Paulding County. It is Cobb and I arrived at home at 1:14 and the contractor working at my house looked at his watch and I looked at mine at 1:15 so this contractor did indeed leave before I arrived. It was not necessary to insult me or my home. I was available by phone all day and in my initial contact e-mail I was thrilled that you could work in this area and indicated as such in the preliminary contact e-mail where you had the opportunity to refute this. . I responded to your request for a 1:00pm meeting indicating it was not convenient to which I got no response. This contact was to be with me not my contractor and I did not ask him to negotiate anything. I find the follow up to my review to be highly unprofessional. In no way did I mean to inconvenience you on your day off. My rating holds. The information the information in my review holds Your follow up is inaccurate.. Your response unprofessional, and unnecessary.

Response from VETERAN ELECTRIC OF AMERICA, LLC
This is an extremely inaccurate rating. We came to your home on a day that we do not work, to hang a "pendant light", when we arrived on time, you weren't there, and your handyman pointed out 3 pendant lights, inquired about adding recessed lighting, and under cabinet lighting. We waited around on our day off for 25 minutes for you to come home, which you did not by 1:37 pm at least (We wrote it down)... since the only information we had to go by was the person that was previously spray washing your moldy house, there was no way to leave you a quote in the first place. We did indeed leave you the name and contact number for a reputable company that does service your area. I know the owner personally and even met with him and gave him your invoice that day so that his dispatcher could contact you asap. It was no big deal for me to drive out there on a Saturday, and hang a small fixture, since we were indeed in the city for our first call... you however live in Paulding county. However once your handyman started asking about recessed lights, under cabinet lights and the (three) pendants that you had sitting on top of your island, this project would better be served by a company that only needed to drive 10 minutes versus 2 hours. We did you a tremendous favor and you gave us an undeserving F rating. I will even continue to help you out, even though you gave us an F rating. Next time that you book a service provider, click their page. Read their hours. Read their service area (There is a nice pretty map drawn for you on our page), there's even a county by county listing of areas we service. (Yours isn't on it). The only thing your review is accurate about is that we will definitely never do electrical work for you in the future. You can count on that for sure. Have a wonderful day, it sounds like you need one :)
