I hired Modern Landscape Concepts to install a retaining wall in my backyard. They were professional, punctual, and installed a beautiful wall. This project completely transformed our backyard. Highly recommend!

Working with Modern Landscape has truly been a delightful journey from start to finish. From the initial phone call with Beth, who efficiently coordinated appointments and diligently noted down my specific requirements, to the insightful recommendations provided by owner Jesse during his visit to assess the landscape, every step of the process has been marked by professionalism and expertise. Jesse's suggestions were not only focused on enhancing the aesthetic appeal of my backyard but also on practical aspects such as erosion control and drainage solutions. His holistic approach ensured that the transformation of my backyard would not only be visually stunning but also sustainable and functional in the long run. The execution of the project by the excellent crew, led by their supervisor Chris, was nothing short of exemplary. Their attention to detail and dedication to delivering high-quality work were evident throughout the entire project. They worked tirelessly to bring Jesse's vision to life, and the results speak for themselves. I am absolutely thrilled with the outcome of my backyard transformation. What was once a simple wooded area with a pool has now been transformed into a beautiful oasis—a perfect blend of a serene poolside retreat and a charming picnic garden. Jesse is one of the most professional people i have ver worked with. I jave had him on a dozen projects for me and they all came out 100 perfect. They are always available to speak with you and schedule the work to your schedule. I will continuue to use jesse and his guys in perpetuity. Cant exprss enough the professionalism they bring. I would leave 6 stars if possible. Do your self a favor and call them for all your hardscape and landscaping projects.

Beware of Modern Landscape Concepts. There are so many better companies out there. DO NOT waste your time or money or you will be highly disappointed. The final threatening words from the owner after mentioning I was going to share my experience online is “you do not know who you are dealing with.” This is why I am WARNING you all. This company was referred to me by my neighbors who received Jesses contact information from Super Sod. In the two months leading up to the project, I have been caused more stress by their owner than any other contractor that I have ever worked with. This company does not communicate well and are very unprofessional, this company does not have time for their customers, this company does not believe in customer service and will not put you first, this company never provided me an invoice as requested numerous times, this company has a $5,000 minimum although online it says $3,000 and they will not let you know in advance, the owner will make threats to you if provide any constructive feedback and also this company will cancel the project the day it is scheduled to start. RUN, do not give Modern Landscape Concepts the opportunity. I have talked to a few other folks as well and after digging online, I am not the first to have this kind of experience with Modern Landscape Concepts. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Excellent! Jesse Callaway and his Team were amazing from the beginning to the end of a long, 4-phase project. Where do I begin? Jesse was super-responsive from quote to project finish. Not only did Jesse do what my wife and I envisioned, he recommended several sensible, aesthetically pleasing adjustments based on the contours of my property and the existing trees and bushes. He and his Team were ALWAYS on-time, completely professional, and very respectful of our time. They went way beyond my expectations by cleaning all debris after each day, so that our property looked uncluttered as the projects were being completed. Once the weather breaks, I am planning to have Jesse and his Team come out to work on my last phases of re-designing my landscaping throughout my entire 1 acre property.

Jesse and his team were great! On time, on budget and very detailed oriented. We were referred by a friend who used them for a few projects last year. I initially had Jesse come out and look over my landscape architect plans to get an estimate of what we wanted. The estimate was very reasonable, considering the scope of the project. After a few months of HOA approval process, the project began. Jesse and his team were dedicated to my project for a good 4 weeks without much interruption. They were very accommodating for changes and modifications along the way. I leaned on Jesse's expertise on several things that I am very glad for. Once the project was wrapped up, Jesse and his team came back for a few punch list items, hence ensuring my satisfaction. My neighbors were so impressed with their work, they started using them next. Overall, I could not be more thrilled with Modern Landscape's level of customer service and quality of work. Highly recommend for projects of all sizes.

Jesse and crew came out and did a great job. I had previously received two other estimates for the work. Another highly rated company here on Angie's List came out and gave me an estimate that was high, and the ideas they had in mind of how to construct the wall did not match up with what I wanted. Jesse met me at my house for the initial consultation. He listened to what I wanted, and we agreed on a plan. He sent me an estimate that was significantly lower than the other, while listing everything I wanted/needed. The crew came out shortly after and constructed this very nice retaining wall. Afterwards, they brought in 900 sq ft of bermuda sod, which took the place of a mud pit that has been there for months! Overall we are very satisfied with the work done by Modern Landscape Concepts, and would definitely have them back for any future services needed.

Jesse came by and provided a quote which he stuck by. The work was completed quickly and thoroughly and we're very excited about the results!

Phenomenal! Jesse Callaway and the crew at Modern Landscape Concepts are amazing!! This maybe the best money I have ever spent on a home improvement project. I gave Jesse the 30K view of what I wanted and he used his (obvious) extensive background and creativity to create something truly spectacular. The professionalism and craftsmanship during the entire project were something to behold, it is not often in this day and age that you find a company that really cares about the job at hand and the customer. My only regret with this project is that I didn't have more money to spend (although the cost was more than reasonable)! I HIGHLY recommend Jesse Callaway and Modern Landscape Concepts they are truly phenomenal and I will absolutely hire them again in the near future to complete the backyard Oasis they started. In the end we went with a different company (long story) for the work, but Jesse from Modern Landscapes was amazing. He came out twice, he was very patient with all my questions, and he was obviously very knowledgeable. He was also the best price of the five bids that we got, but due to other circumstances we had to go a different direction. If we had other needs in the future, he would be the FIRST person that I would CALL!

Very very well. Jesse came round provided a good quote gave plenty of options about materials to use. We had to reschedule a couple of time because of issues at my end Jesse was great at accommodating them. The work crew were fast and very nice.

This was the second time we have used Jesse and Modern Landscape Concepts. Both times everything went extremely well from first contact, to the quote, to the job getting done on time and done right at a very good price. I highly recommend Jesse and his crew due to excellent communication, great work product, and reliability. Jesse and crew are my go to company now for anything landscape/hardscape related and we will continue to use them in the future.

Jesse was great to work with. Very responsive and punctual to all of our scheduled meetings. Provided a quote the same day and was able to schedule the work the week after we accepted the quote. His price was by far the best that we received after speaking to at least 3 other companies. When discussing the project, he listened to what we were looking for and offered suggestions as to how to create the patio we wanted. On the day work was to start, he and his team arrived early in the morning and went straight to work. Cleaned up every day and was back to work the next. As always, there was one change that we wanted to make after the work started. Jesse came by to discuss the change, gave us the price difference for what wanted and then went about finishing the job. When it was done, it was exactly what we wanted. We are already talking to him about our next project.

Owner came out after request was made for estimate to install patio pavers at walk-out basement area. After measuring the area, written estimate was promptly provided. I selected Modern Landscape Concepts, LLC because they offered the best quality material at a very reasonable cost. .At the completion of the job, I was very satisfied with the excellent workmanship and overall project executio0n. I highly recommend Modern Landscape Concepts for any Landscape/Hardscape projects you have in mind.

Jesse is very nice, and seemed to understand what I was asking for, although he did take a while to get back to me on several occasions. Unfortunately, he doesn't always communicate the details of the job well enough to his 2 crews. One crew speaks only Spanish. The crews like to show up earlier than planned, often without calling first. This bothered me because when they did work without me there, inevitably something would be "off." They did correct things when I asked, and were very patient as I kept adding projects on (and paying extra for them). You know, you never really comprehend about all the little stuff that comes to light once you start changing your yard. However, we did get it all done over about 2 months time, and the yard looks great. They removed dead bushes and planted new ones, created a berm around existing trees, built several low retaining walls, planted new trees, put down a lot of sod, spread a lot of mulch, built a dry stone creekbed to help with drainage down a hill, and put nice natural stone borders around the flower beds. My only complaint is that where they attempted to fix drainage issues, the sod over those areas was "lumpy" to walk on, and water would still collect in spots. I had another company come out and redo some of the grading and spread sand to help even things out. It is hard to find a landscaping company who will do projects under $10,000 - they all want corporate projects or wealthy homeowners, so I appreciated that was not the case here. Just remember, as with most contractors, you should make sure you are there when they do the work and speak up if things aren't what you asked for. I

Jessie and his team started the project on the scheduled day and completed it the next day. We are extremely pleased with our new paver sidewalk. It looks just as good as we imagined. In addition to providing top-notch work, Jessie's bid on the project was the best among the three we considered. We definitely will call Jesse again the next time we need landscaping work like this!

Our entire experience with Jesse and his workers was great. Jesse was courteous, dependable, flexible and professional in every way; our communication with him was always clear and he responded to phone calls and emails quickly! As the job was progressing we were able to make small adjustments along the way. His crew worked hard for 2 full, and very hot, days. This entire company (owner and crew) take pride in their work, and want you to be satisfied with the job. The end result was perfect, it turned out much better than we had originally imagined.

Worked with Jesse to setup a time for them to come out and do the job. They excavated front and back yard then left bobcat and all the equipment and went away for three days, saying sod wasn't available from the farm. Came back and put down the sod and left. Sod wasn't leveled correctly in the backyard and front yard and had weeds growing out in the next couple of weeks. They were also supposed to clean out under my deck but never came back to finish that job. No response upon contacting Jesse.

We love the finished product! Although we were delayed with scheduling due to the rain, once scheduled and started the work performed was fantastic. We changed the design a few times throughout the project and Jesse was able to work the changes in. We will be using them again!

They were pretty busy, so scheduling took some time. First trip out they had the wrong color mulch. Once scheduled, they performed the expected tasks and duties. Seemed a bit pricey for the quality of mulch that you get.
