Exovations is the best contractor to work with. We have had Exovations replace our siding windows and now our door and are completely satisfied. Terry Brooks helped us pick out the best options and patiently answered all our questions. Jim McCulloch made sure our job was done right. The crews of Exovations treated our house like it was their own. I would not hesitate to use them for our next project.

I've been a customer since 2013. Since then the Exovations team have replaced all the windows in my home, front, back and interior garage doors. When I am planning an exterior renovation project in my home, they are my first and only call. Each time I ask for Terry Brooks by name. He's been my sales contact since day 1. He's always courteous and extremely knowledgeable, and I'm always confident that he and Exovations will do the job right the first time and within my budget. Customer for life!
Description of Work: I've used Exovations for several projects around my home. The last project involved replacing all my exterior doors.

Terry Brooks from Exovations came out and gave me an estimate. He took me through the whole process. He listened, he qualified what I needed and wanted. Terry is the most professional person I have ever dealt with. His knowledge and experience gave me all the confidence that I was doing the right thing. Was thrilled with the outcome. Everything was done on time and within budget. It was truly a pleasure working with Terry and Exovations of Atlanta. No surprises and all work was done professionally. My friends have seen and loved the work done. I have recommended Terry for two other projects. One already done. On time and under budget. The other is in the process. Will be the best decision you will ever make using Terry Brooks and Exovations of Atlanta.

There was a slight delay in the agreed install date, due a death in the installers family. I understood the situation and coordinated a follow up date. The installer was on time for the new agreed upon install date and went directly to work. Because of the delay there was additional leafs on the roof that had accumulated since the original install date and the installer went ahead and used a blower to clean out the gutters. (Note: Exovations installed the gutters the year before) During the installations the installer identified an issue that occurred from the original gutter install and worked with the Project Manager and myself to correct the problem and complete the leaf gutter guard installation. Once the project was completed, the Project Manager took me through a walk through for my approval. Another great job done by EXOVATIONS
Description of Work: Sent out a sale representative to gather the project requirements, and drafted a proposal. Exovations then assigned and dispatched a Project Manager to oversee the project. The project manager coordinated all installation dates and details of the install.

I had posted positive reviews for this company that I have had to withdraw. They had finsihed installing a new roof in Nov. 2014, when my HVAC company made a service call in May 2015 they found severe water damage to my furnace caused by damage to the flue collar and/or seal (they had been here in Sept. 2014 and no leak was present). While Exovations immediately repaired the leak that did nothing for my furnace, it was only 5 years old and the water damage voided my warranty. After some negotiation the agreed (via email) to pay 50% of the maximum repair costs of $3230. Regrettably by September 2015 my system went from badly damaged to beyond repair. I had it replaced and asked Exovatoins to reimburse me $1615; they refused to honor their commitment. Instead they went to the manufacturers website, looked up the retail cost of a furnace, divided that in half and offered me $301. As if we are dealing with a toaster that you can pick up at any retailer, plug in and be done with it! I have since retained a lawyer, their new position is to say that they are not responsible for ANY of my damages. I spent over $40,000 with this firm in less than 2 years. I thought they would be fair with me. This is what I got... ADDENDUM TO CONTRACTORS RESPONSE: The facts are there was no leak before Exovations got here but there was a leak after they left. Furthermore, HVAC and plumbing contractors do not climb on the roof to check the conditions around their respective vents, that is the roofers responsibility. The roofing crew should have alerted me of the issue and the needed repairs and I would have paid for the additional work, as I did for the cricket the salesperson indicated was needed at the back of the turret. This only serves to illustrate negligence and/or incompetence on the part of the subcontractors. It would be ideal if things always went right, but when they don't the culpable party needs to take responsibility. Which Exovations initially did, both implied: by making the repairs, and actual: by offering 50% payment. The contractor received a copy of my warranty, they knew that the water damage voided anything I could have recouped from the manufacturer and was well aware that I would be liable for the full $3230. Exovations failed to honor their agreement. And the offer of $301 towards a furnace installation as a DYI project is simply ridiculous!

Response from EXOVATIONS of Atlanta
As we have previously stated to Ms. [Member Name Removed], we accept no responsibility for any damage to her furnace. Our project manager replaced the furnace cap that should have been replaced when the new furnace was installed as the new furnace flue did not fit the cap properly. We did this as a service for Ms. [Member Name Removed] as she has been a very good customer. Because she has been such a good customer, we offered to cover part of the warranty if the unit should fail. Per our email to Ms. [Member Name Removed] on July 27, we agreed to ...”be responsible for 50% of the warranty for these parts. This would be pro-rated over the 10 year warranty period consistent with the manufacturer’s warranty …” in an effort to go above and beyond for our customer. This was clarified in my email to Ms. [Member Name Removed] on July 29th as to exactly what we would be willing to cover as we deny any negligence on our part in our roof installation to cause any damage to the furnace. We are happy to honor our agreement as stated in our email to Ms. [Member Name Removed] on October 7th stating we will cover 50% of what the manufacturer’s warranty would cover at the time of any failure that would have normally been covered up to the $1615.00. Typically a manufacturer’s warranty prorates each year of service and does not cover 100% for the full 10 years.

First, I have to remark on how professionally handled the entire experience was. We got three bids from different vendors and Exovations was the most professional of the lot. Terry Brooks took time to fully understand what we needed and explained our options. Pricing quote came back quickly with plenty of detail, along with insurance documents and information on the paint and stain to be used (top of the line). On pricing, they were within 5% or 10% of the other bids, but not the cheapest. However, that may be due to their use of TPW stain for the deck, which is higher quality and cost than most other stains. Their project manager met with us once the job was scheduled and was very thorough in going over with us what was to be done and when it would be done. All colors and their application was reconfirmed. The team of three or four that came out to do the work was also very professional. They did a very detail-oriented job, cleaning up everything as they went. The overall quality of the finished work is just outstanding. I would not hesitate to use Exovations again.

This is our second, and last time, to use Exovations. The first time, we hired them to build/extend our back deck. They did an awesome job and were very professional. Only tiny annoying part is that they put out a sign in your front yard stating they are friendly, won't have loud music going, non-smoking, etc. Our deck crew smoked most of the time, so I don't think that sign was completely honest. For our most recent work, they cleaned up the wood rot outside and replaced old gutters. They did good work, but they were incredibly unprofessional. Our sales person wrote up a 3 page, itemized list of the wood rot areas to fix and told us they would get rid of all wood rot on our house. After the project was finished and we were going through the final walk through, we noticed multiple spots of wood rot that were very clear to see. Instead of working with us to make it right and fix those spots, they just re-itemized those areas and did a new contract, which cost us more to have all the various crews come back out. I understand they are in business to make money, but the way they went about this was incredibly unprofessional. There is only one person who can take care of the financial aspect, our sales guy, and any time there was bad news, he would send the newest employee to deliver bad news, instead of owning up to his own mistake. When we would try to call our sales rep to talk through the contract, he would suddenly disappear and never call us back. We like Exovations, and want to use them again, but we won't because of their unprofessionalism. When spending over $30,000, we expect good service throughout the entire experience.

Our impression of Exovations is that it is a company that is typically more expensive, but one that gets the job done properly. We were happy to pay a premium for a job well done. I wanted to hire Exovations. I expected to pay more. During Exovation's visit to our home, we asked Clay for an itemized quote on a couple sizable projects. Clay scheduled a follow up visit to discuss the quote the following week. Unfortunately, he did not show up at all at the appointed time- nor did he call. I understand a schedule mix-up. It happens. He then promised to email a quote within a specific time frame and failed to send the quote. We inquired. He promised to send the quote by a different deadline and failed to meet that deadline. The next time we called, we were directed to his supervisor who assured us that Clay would send the quote by noon. Clay told us there was no way the quote would arrive by lunch but that he would send the quote within a specific time frame. Clay failed to send the quote by the third deadline. Clay failed to meet five deadlines that he set. When we finally received the quote - it was a lump sum total for over $40,000. We originally asked for and itemized quote, but itemization was not included. We asked Clay again for an itemized quote. Clay promised to send us an itemized quote by a specific deadline. Yet again - he failed to meet the deadline he set. When we did receive the itemized quote - it was completely wrong. Clay included projects we never discussed and failed to include projects we did discuss. He never followed up the quote with a phone call or email. I called his supervisor again (directly). My call was never returned. We expected much more from Exovations. This was a very disappointing experience.

06/30/2015: Terry Garmon has no ETA for the replacement, yet. Will check back with him weekly. 07/07/2015: Terry Garmon spoke to window manufacturer. Window is ready but since Exovations no longer works with manufacturer, they need to make arrangements for delivery to my house. No ETA for delivery because glass cannot be sent freight. 07/15/2015: Sent Terry Garmon email asking if Exovations has worked out a solution for delivery of my windows from Soft-Lite. Suggested working with Soft-Lite to have windows delivered to dealers near me (http://www.soft-lite.com/dealer-results/?zip_code=30066&saveForm=Search&distance=25) and then Exovations can pickup for delivery and installation to my home. Unsure if I have to contact Soft-Lite on this option. If I do not hear from Terry by 07/20/2015, I will inquire on my windows directly with Soft-Lite for delivery to one of their dealers. 7/21/2015: Terry Garmon said that window is supposed to be on truck to Pinnacle Windows & Siding in Woodstock. He was there but there's no confirmation of window being on the truck. If it is, installation will be 7/22/2015 7/24/2015: I called Pinnacle Windows and Siding and Nancy said that Soft-Lite was not scheduling shipment of my window until next week. When it does arrive at Pinnacle, Nancy will call Terry or Robert. 8/11/2015: Replacement window was installed at 2:00 pm after Terry, Patrick and Heather picked it up from Pinnacle Windows in Woodstock. On morning of installation Terry asked to move up the installation to the morning because they had another job in the afternoon. But, I reminded him that I had an appointment that morning and calling me the morning of the installation wasn't acceptable. He insisted that I didn't need to be home, but I'm glad I was because the installation had to be done from the inside of my home, just as it was when the original window was installed 10 years ago. ALWAYS be home when installation is done, regardless if it's an outdoor or indoor job. Per Terry, replacement windows always come without the frame holding the glass together. My double pane window with grids between the glass came with just the putty-like material holding the two panes of glass together and styrofoam stuck to the putty like material to buttress the glass edges for any jarring. The team had to remove the styrofoam particles that stuck to the putty-like material. Heather cut her hand while helping to install the heavy window over my front door. I'm not sure if this replacement window compromised the seal, again, allowing the argon gas to leak out. Over the coming years, I will see how it does and will ask the window cleaners to let me know if there are particles between the glass.
Description of Work: Pending replacement: This was a lifetime warranty service on a large palladian window over my front door whose seal broke and allowed particles to lodge between the 2 panes of glass and fogging during cool mornings to occur. This compromised the energy efficiency of the window. The window was installed Feb. 2006 and Exovations does not have the manufacturer among its current suppliers. However, the warranty still is valid. As long as the window doesn't break, I can work with Exovations replacing the window in the next couple of months. No charge to replace window under lifetime warranty.

This is the Exovations out of Macon. I don't know if its the same as the one in Atlanta or not. Contracted to build the porch. Was told it would take 6 weeks. It ended up taking six MONTHS and it was never actually completed. The contractor simply gave up on the job. TONS of errors along the way, starting with pouring the concrete pad below ground level so the porch flooded with rains. They ended up basically building it twice because they had to re-do the concrete pad. The roof is short-shingled. They never put in drainage per the contract. The door was hung crooked and not fixed. They left smeared grout all over the flooring tiles, dulling them and making it look terrible. Used wrong color grout. Tried to use damaged materials while building. Tried to build without a permit and got angry when they got caught. The porch was built to hold a specific sized spa. They didn't build the dimensions correctly so then it wouldn't actually fit through the door. Anything that could be wrong, was. If I didn't follow behind them and check everything, it would have been a much bigger disaster than it ended up as. While we FINALLY got a usable screened porch much later than we wanted, it was not worth the cost, hassle, stress, and continuing issues to deal with. I would recommend you steer clear of this company. A personable frontman (Greg) who doesn't even know that a room needs to be built above ground level isn't someone you want building on your home!

The project was layed out well by their project manager. He did a good job of providing us with enough information. My concern was if there was going to be added expense from wood rot that was not visible. They did take care of some of this without additional expense. They also reconstructed our door entry gable (twice) with little expense on our part. However we did have issues. First some of the siding was not installed straight and they had to come back, remove, reinstall and repaint. The shutters were not aligned properly with the siding and they came back to align them. They also had to straighten the siding so the shutters would align and had to repaint. We still have one board in the front of the house that is not straight but there was nothing they could do about this. I can notice it but most people can't unless they are looking for it. Second, the siding installers cut my doorbell wire and had to come back and remove all of the siding around the door to find out what happened. The siding guys could not run a new wire so I had to hire an electrician. Exovation reimbursed us after several weeks. Third, one of the windows had some small rot in the corner of the brick molding that was not replaced or repaired. I gave up on this one. All in all, the project manager was not at the site every day. He was very professional but Exovation had him on multiple projects at once time. This caused him to miss some of the issues as they were occurring. The siding guys were polite and cleaned up each day. They did cut my bushes completely but they have since come back. These kinds of projects are always going to have issues. We were comfortable with Exovation since they are concerned about their reputation. This gives us leverage in making sure the job is done correctly and on budget. All in all, we were satisfied with the work that was done.
Description of Work: We had our Masonite siding removed and replaced with Nichiha concrete siding. We also had various repairs to brick molding and chimney, full exterior house painting and new gutters.

There were 6 steps overall: 1. Meeting followed by initial estimate. 2. Meeting with project manager. 3. Drop off dumpster. 4. Perform agreed upon work. 5. Removal of dumpster 6. Follow up with PM. As of this date, all except step 6 have been completed. Exovations arrived on time for all steps. The estimate was on target, and the work was done in just a day and a half. They picked up the dumpster the same day the work was completed (4/1/15). I only have to meet with the project manager for the follow up. There were no surprises, and they told me up front what likely additional costs might arise (and there were none). They were quick, efficient, and professional. I gave them a B on price because I believe I probably could have found someone to do it for less, but you get what you pay for. No hassles and no surprises. So overall, they get an A+. I will most likely call on them again in the future when it is time for new windows and garage doors.

Real Nice and Professional Sales Consultant came to our home on a Monday to review the work - jotted down measurements and said he would return on Thursday to show us samples - we did have an ice storm however the other two vendors delivered as promised that same week (we were all without power). Storm cleared and power restored He called on Friday with a promise to provide a quote via email. Days went by and he kept promising to send quotes "should have it to you in the next hour" "can't send from my home per company policy - will send tomorrow" "will send by noon today" - - - NEVER got a quote. Met him on the 16th, received 1 phone call message on the 20th, and several emails starting on 22nd through the 28th then NOTHING! So...."F" Their loss - we have heaps of work ($$$) that needs to be done and was looking forward to having one vendor, oh well. Plus my parents wanted to see how this company performed as they need their windows replaced too. (This is why I joined Angies List)
Description of Work: Asked for a quote to build a deck with dry storage area underneath (roof under the deck flooring), replace all our windows with custom built windows, add a door or two, and planned on asking for quotes for new gutters, a new dormer window, and possible re-side the entire house. Lots of work! $$$

[member name removed]- Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for your experience. There is no excuse for a lack of follow up. We value every opportunity to help a prospective client with their project. And to build a relationship to gain the opportunity to work with them on future projects. Unfortunately, we did not perform, communicate, or follow up as we should have. It is not our company policy for our consultants to not email quotes, however, our sales consultants are extremely busy, so in an effort to help them be as productive as possible and more importantly respectful of our clients time, we encourage them to present their proposals in person. Inevitably, there are questions whenever we go through the process of specification and design and we have found it much more productive to meet in person to better communicate what we have proposed and to hear and see any questions or changes they would like to make. Much of these important elements can be lost in email communications.

Everything went perfect and the end result looks great. I normally hate to hire roofers because the industry as a whole is very unreliable and unprofessional. I had used Exovatioms before so my expectations were high and I was not disappointed. The roofing team was working hard every minute of the day, were very experienced, and worked well as a team. The project manager was always checking in and was available if I needed him. They started the job on time and completed it in two days. I would not hesitate to recommend Exovations for any exterior job - they have now replaced my siding, windows and garage door as well added gutter guards and now a new roof. It is really nice to know a company that you can trust.

Joy was our sales person, and she was great. She met with me several times, and answered my questions. Because of the scope of the project, on one visit, she did bring her manager out to answer some additional questions and to get another perspective . Once the project was underway, Josh was my project manager. He was in constant contact. The crews were here early everyday and stayed late, even working in the rain to sure up the house to protect from the pop-up summer storms. I was impressed with Hector and Jose who were the foremen. All the crews were competent, courteous, and respectful of my property. The job took longer than expected, but that was because they ran into unexpected complications. That said, we were happy they took their time and did it right. The end result was fabulous. We would use them again.
Description of Work: Exovations did an Exovision (purchased through Angie's List) and then removed all the stucco from the house and replaced it with Hardishake shingles. The Exovision included shutters, which we had not had before, and added a lot to the finished look.

Joy Branch was the representative from Exovations that helped us out. She was fantastic. My wife and I had some very specific ideas on what we wanted done with the property. Unlike some other similar services that we have used in the past, Joy was able to successfully navigate the scenario about offering new ideas without trying to impose her feelings on the project. Ultimately, our project included some work that Exovations does not specialize in and thus we did not move the process further. Joy went the distance in making sure that all avenues were explored, before ultimately telling us that Exovations felt like our interests may be served elsewhere with a general contractor that specialized in both interior and exterior construction renovations. I commend the company from a business ethics standpoint as they walked away from a potentially lucrative sale.
Description of Work: We bought an Exovations' promotion to provide a visual rendering of our current residence after various alterations were made to both our yard and the front of the house.

Brent was the salesman and first impression I had of Exovations. He was able to answer my questions immediately, was not pushy and communicated in business ways I understand. I received paperwork explaining everything to the smallest detail. Terry G was the Project Manager and his Project Schedule Dates for different portions of the project started and ended on target. I am old enough for it to take a lot to impress me these days but I must say, Terry and his siding crew, painting crew and gutter guys were quite impressive - Not only with their expertise on what they do but, I have not seen such hard workers in a great, long time. Terry went by to check on the project several times and communicated with me throughout the process. At the end, Terry called the painting crew back to "touch-up" some areas before the final walk-around so my "gift" to myself was pristine. While this company was the top bid of the three I got, I went with them because this was such a large and important project, they have their own insurance and workman's comp. coverage and, for their warranties and assurances that they would back up their word and take care of my investment - - my "new" house. I am VERY pleased and highly recommend Exovations.
Description of Work: Removed 1980s cedar siding (that was worn, rotten and riddled with holes from the squirrels and birds); re-wrapped the house structure; replaced with Hardiplank slab and shake siding; reframed windows and doors with Hardiplank; caulked and painted siding and doors; added new gutters and cut-in a new window for the basement.

They were very professional, courteous and methodical. I was very impressed by them but they were busy. I did not hire them because of timing, I needed the job done quickly than they could commit to.

They came and took photos for the rendering. After that they did not call or come back out to complete the job.

Response from EXOVATIONS of Atlanta
After reviewing our consultant's email and call logs, it appears he has tried to reach you numerous times by phone and email. The last conversation was to determine the window grid patterns you want reflected on the EXOVISION rendering and we lost contact. Please give us a call at 770-205-2995 and we will confirm the details of the rendering and get it completed.

The sales process was not as quick as I would have liked, however my project manager was awesome. There were some manufacturer defects in the window, like a hand print on the inside of the two panes. My project manager came out promptly and fixed it within a few days. And this was after the check was cashed - they truly care about their customers' 100 percent satisfaction. I would absolutely use them again.
Description of Work: Exovations replaced my three bay single pane windows with upgraded and energy efficient windows.

Exovations did a good job installing the windows in one day. They required a a third of the cost as down payment with the remainder due upon completion. The old windows were removed and the new ones inserted into the existing window trims. Keep in mind that my windows were installed about 8 years ago. Procedures may have changed since then, but there was no caulking done around the inserted windows but prior caulking around the exterior window trims existed. My foyer Palladian window leaked at the base when the first driving rain hit the window. The leak dripped on the inside over my front door. Exovations came and drilled holes in the bottom, exterior vinyl frame of the Palladian window and there has been no leak inside since then. I think a better solution would have been to caulk around the vinyl frames so I did that myself.
Description of Work: Installed 28 Barrington argon gas, vinyl windows. Two of the 28 windows counted as 2 windows because they are larger than normal size windows, so actual count of windows is 26. One window is a semicircle (top part of Paladian window).
