When you call for an estimate on replacing your roof, not many roofers are going to tell you you don't actually need to replace it. We bought the house thinking the roof was 18 years old, but when Doug got up there, he found that it almost certainly wasn't original and it had at least 5 more years in it. That's someone you can really trust! I can't thank Doug enough for his honesty and professionalism.

It took me at least six months to finally make the best choice in selecting this contractor. Buying a new roof system is an important investment and I had several contractors look at my roof and provided me with a quote. Doug Horsley,the owner was that contractor. He immediately came across as an experienced, knowledgable, honest, professional roofing contractor. He was prompt in both responding and completing the job. He brought to the table a wealth of information that was valuable to me and I can use this information in the future in my next purchase of a home or purchase of a new roof. I knew excately what type of roof I was getting and the pros and cons of this one compared to others. I received the best quality roof system at a fair price and I got the job done right the first time. The team that perform the work was quite knowledgeable and did a great job. A winner in my eyes, My home seem to have a face lift after the roof installation. I am extremely happy with the workmanship, excellent customer service, promptness and commitments. First, Doug Horsley responded quickly to my request for an estimate, which was greatly appreciated, and the estimate provided was competitive. The estimate also was comprehensive, with the only possible additional expense being replacement of rotten roof decking, and that cost was explained. When I decided to go with Award, Doug had an opening in the schedule so that I could have my roof replaced quickly. The crew arrived at the time expected, worked hard and consistently and completed the job in one day, as promised. They cleaned up nicely, also as promised, and Doug came by the next day to do an additional sweep for nails, trash, etc. He would not accept payment until everything was completed, and the dumpster was removed from my property. The job performed was excellent, and, overall, I am most satisfied, not to mention that my new roof is beautiful.

Doug was easy to work with, punctual, helpful and reliable, (unlike some other companies who couldn't even bother to respond to an inquiry). Award replaced the entire roof in a day and did a good job cleaning up. No surprises throughout the process, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

This company was very responsive and the owner, Doug, was very willing to discuss options. The day of the roof replacement the crew and Doug arrived promptly. We did a walk around, and asked and answered final questions. The crew started at around 8 AM and were completely finished around 6: 30 or 7:00. Service included tear off of old roof and paper, replacement of roofing board, and complete reinstall. The reinstall included fiberglass paper and architectural shingles. It also included install of roof venting. During the install the crew replaced and repaired small areas of soffit and fascia. (New gutters have to wait until next year.) After the install was complete, the crew blew off my driveway and deck, collected all nails and scraps of paper, made sure the gutters were clean and everything was properly disposed of in the dumpster (included in cost of job.) The crew was incredibly conscientious. After the dumpster was removed Doug came out to make sure there were no stray nails and collect all leftover materials. I am incredibly pleased with the cost of the service and the quality of work. I am more than willing to recommend Award Roofing to friends and family in need of replacement or repair.

I live in another state, so I was not even on location when the work was done. However I had reports from neighbors that everything was going well and that it looked really nice. All of the arrangements were done over the phone and by email. Doug Horsley was very responsive to my calls and emails and made all of the set up very easy. He came to do the work when he said he would and I am very pleased with the transactions that were made. I have not yet seen the roof, but feel sure that everything went according to plan. I would happily recommend Award Roofing to anyone. I am willing to give an update after viewing the roof. They made every thing so easy for someone who was out of town and that was greatly appreciated.

Award Roofing replaced my roof with architectural shingles and a fiberglass felt underlay. A quality job that will last - just in time for the rainy weekend. No leaks! Most of the work was done in one day although some followup work on an exhaust vent occurred 2 days later. The crew was very efficient and cleaned up my property afterwards - cannot tell they were there. The owner, Doug, was present for most of the job and came back himself to install the new exhaust pipe. Great person to work with. Award was not the least expensive estimate I received but I felt they'd give me the best quality product. Very satisfied.

I had to replace the large roof on my house and had a few estimates. Doug Horsley from Award Roofing provided the most competitive estimate - and a longer labor warranty than all the other quotes. Doug answered all questions over a couple of months while I tried to finalize including bringing various samples till we decided on the exact color. After the date was finalized, we had to make a change due to some unforeseen circumstances and Doug worked around this without any complaints and adjusted his schedule to work with ours. The work was done very professionally and efficiently. The crew did a great job to make sure that none of the landscaping was damaged and cleaned up right away . The work got completed on schedule and the crew did a very thorough cleanup after that. Doug kept checking to make sure everything was done right and even did an additional check to make sure there were no nails or screws around the house. Also, while doing roofing work they noticed a little issue with grout on the chimney and fixed it. A minor dent was noticed in a portion of the new gutter. When this was brought to Doug's attention, he just had the entire section removed and replaced. The roof and gutters look really good after all the work was completed. Overall, Award Roofing did an exceptional job - thanks Doug and crew.

Doug was very professional throughout the process. He kept me informed with straightforward with the positives and the negatives and ultimately help me make the best decision for my roof. I called Award Roofing (Doug) on Friday (9/5) to see if they could shingle my new sun-room roof (approx 20' x 18') that only had felt laid but was leaking inside the room every time it rained. (The sun-room is in the process of being built.) My Contractor was unable to get any date commitment from his "roofer" and he had no problem with me contacting mine. (My worry was that it was forecast to rain tomorrow - Saturday, and we were going on vacation). Doug called my back within an hour and came over that afternoon. He said he could get a crew out tomorrow morning to do the job. Doug picked up the shingles matching my current roof that afternoon. His crew showed up at 7:00 and they went right to work, which included removing the felt that was previously installed but was wet. They were finished by 9:30, including cleaning up the area. My Contractor was impressed enough to ask for my roofer's name. I was quite happy that the job got finished Saturday, so we could head out of town. It did rain again that afternoon. NOTE: Award Roofing had re-roofed our house in 2009 and had done an excelled job, so I knew I would contact him if I ever needed more roof work done.

However, 6 weeks later we had squirrels in the attic again! They had found another place just under the roofline to enter. Pest control had to be called as they were digging through the ceiling in a bedroom! $500 later and a screen across their entrance the squirrels were gone. The pest control company advised me that they thought the roofer should have been aware of that entrance.

Doug came out to assess and had to do some minor things to my roof. He was very nice and gave good advice about things to do/watch for. I would definitely recommend.

Excellent. I was very please with the experience. Doug Horsley was very professional. He was totally available and actually answered the phone whenever I called. We got several quotes and his was the best in terms of price for the quality of product and warranty. He was thourough in explaining the process and there were no suprises at the end when the final charge was sumitted. I definitely plan to use him in the future and would reccommend his services.

Doug Horsley came and provided as estimate along with an education on shingles, warranty and general roofing knowledge for a novice like myself. He worked with me as another exterior project was delayed. On the day of the roof replacement, the he and his crew came on time and replaced the roof in one day prior to impending rain. The ground and areas around the house were very clean after the project. Doug and his team did a wonderful job and I would recommend his company if you are looking for a roof replacement.

Award Roofing came out and looked at our roof. They gave us an estimate that was in line with the other company we got an estimate from. We had some areas that were prone to leaks. They suggested things that really should have been done when the house was built. They know their stuff. It is easy to see why they have an A rating. Fast, dependable, professional, experienced. That is everything we wanted.

Doug was always great about communicating with us from start to finish. We knew what to expect and when. He was very professional and friendly. We enjoyed the experience as much as one can with all the noise.

Total job was done and cleaned up in less then 2 days owner double checked all work and even wail clean up. Great up.

Very friendly over the phone, responded quickly to an estimate request. Provided an emailed estimate and met to discuss in person. Discussed color and details of the job and also reminded me off a coupon available. Douglas, who I met was also the owner and very professional. Scheduled a time to start and was prompt..very prompt. Placed tarp over landscaping and was very clean throughout the process. Knocked out the entire roof same business day and did a detailed clean up afterwards. Bottom line is he did a great job for a fair price.

Unlike at least one of the estimates I received, the owner asked to see the attic. Because the owner saw the attic, he found our worst leak coming from around an old asbestos water heater exhaust pipe. We discussed all the possible solutions. Fortunately, the owner went out of his way to find the right size roof cap for an old exhaust pipe and the problem was solved without calling in the hazmat team for asbestos removal. The entire job only took one day from removing the old roof, replaced damaged boards, installing the new roof, and property cleanup. He gave us the shingles at a discount, even though the price had risen as a good faith gesture as I had let the estimate time slip away while I went after other estimates.

I called Doug and he promptly returned my call, came out and looked at my roof, and sent me a detailed estimate on the same day. He communicated very well as to what to expect, when the crew would arrive, and when the job would be completed. His crew was hard working and professional.
