It was excellent. He was five stars. The price was reasonable. All the people and the clean up they did a fabulous job. Didn't leave any nails behind. They were wonderful to work with. We felt very comfortable using him. Good quality roofing.

I dread hiring contractors to work on my home. Angie's List helps to narrow down the choices of contractors but even then, there are widely varying levels of service quality among that narrower group. I recently needed my roof replaced and it was a large job. I did the prudent thing and got quotes from three companies. All had recommendations on Angie's List and good ratings. All three were qualified to do the work. All three were comparable in terms of price. So the choice ended up being an intuitive one, based on my experience with the representatives. I am happy to write that my experience turned out to be one of the best business transactions I have ever experienced. I chose Award Roofing to do the work. Doug Horsely came out and surveyed the work. He was the only contractor to actually get up on my roof, inspect, and take pictures. He gave me a comprehensive quote and presented me with options and recommendations. He never pressured me into extras, even though he advised some work to be done that I elected not to do. He was above board, honest, friendly, knowledgeable and just great to work with. The little things he did (like replace exhaust vents, prime exposed wood to protect it until it could be painted, and much more), he did without charge. His crew was fast, efficient, and showed up exactly on time. They completed the work just when they promised. Doug took pictures and explained details, showing me the work quality. When they were all done, they cleaned it up like they had never been there. Doug personally came out AFTER the work was done and double-checked everything, right down to dragging for nails. After this experience, I consider Doug a friend. I have complete and utter confidence in his work and that they will unquestionably support their generous warranty. I cannot recommend Doug and Award Roofing enough! You will be happy you hired them!

Mr. Horsley is the consummate professional. He was attentive and responsive which made dealing with his company as easy as you could hope for. I received a few proposals for the roof job and Doug's was right in the pickle barrel. I awarded him the contract based on reviews, my initial impression and my sense he would be the easiest team to work with as I like dealing directly with the owner! All went exactly as described and the job site was meticulously cleaned to my satisfaction. Highly recommended.

Doug Horsley owner of Award Roofing Co. arrived within 30 mins. of my phone call and provided me with a complete roof inspection and estimate. I read all the reviews on Angie's List and had to find out for myself if Doug was as good as all the reviews said he was. To my satisfaction he was everything that the members posted. He helped me decide on the proper shingle and color that was appropriate for my roof. Doug explained step by step what material he was using and how the job was going to be performed. He was prompt, professional, and a real pleasure to work with. Doug was my third estimate and the only one I felt comfortable with.

Award Roofing was highly reccommended to me by personal friend and highly rated by Angie's List.They took care of all details, even working with the insurance company. All the paper work was explained in detail, all appointments kept on time. The work crew was timely, efficient, did a beautiful job and did a great clean up. I would reccommend them to my friends and family.

Did an excellent job and was flexible with difficult design challenge. Made sure it was done on time and stayed in contact with progress updates.

They came out very quickly and replaced shingles on our roof vent that had blown off and caused leaks during rain. They also replaced some boots around pipes on the roof. They didn't try to tell us we needed a new roof...they actually told us the roof should last another 5 years or so. Not bad considering it was replaced in 2005 and with all the hail storms we've had, that's pretty good!

Again, Doug was awesome and very helpful, and I believe he did everything to the best of what he could control including calling me back at 9:00 PM on a Saturday night. Thanks, Doug! However, the guy he referred my business to was extremely disappointing. After he came out on a Monday afternoon to look at and provide an estimate for the repair, we agreed he would return Wednesday morning to do the repair, since it was so hot that day. However, he never showed. I've called and left him voicemail messages, and he hasn't returned them. I sympathize most with Award Roofing in this scenario, since it could reflect poorly upon them when they refer business to him. I really do hate to leave negative reviews, and hopefully, my review will not deter anyone from choosing Award Roofing, but I would not accept Jerry as a referral. Thanks for reading, Listers!

He was punctual and came when he said he was going to and did the work he said he was going to do.

We interviewed 3 potential roofing companies and Doug Horsley stood head and shoulders above the others. While his quote was not the lowest, it was fair and reasonable, and we were impressed by his knowledge and professionalism. He even worked with the claims adjustor to get the replacement covered by insurance, because the roof had hail damage. He also identified a structural problem with our roof, and arranged to have it repaired by a carpenter on the same day they started the roofing job, which took 2 days because of the size and complexity of our roof. Doug did everything he said he was going to and more, and while I hope I never need a new roof again, if I needed a roofer, he would be my man.

Came out to home, fixed some shingles, inspected roof, very thorough, not trying to sell anything. We will use this man for our roof in the near future.

Doug impressed by double checking was was happening in the attic with existing leaks. He checked back with us about a week after the initial estimate. At the time we still had some pending estimates. Doug honored the original estimate and we added the drip edge. Roofing plans were finalized on Tuesday or Wednesday for that Friday. The crew worked efficiently and quickly. They arrived at 7 AM and everything was done by 6 PM that same day. Everything was cleaned up and the dumpster was gone Monday morning. It was start to finish in less than a week.

Doug Horsley, the owner of Award Roofing came the day we called and given the late hour and wind gusts told us he'd return the next day. He was out the next day and replaced the missing shingles. Not only were the charges reasonable but we were told the amount paid for repairs would be credited towards a roof replacement if done this year. Given the apparent soundness of the roof (no immediate leaking) we decided to wait until we saw evidence of further deterioration. The following day, at our request, Doug emailed a detailed estimate to replace the roof..it was a fair price!

He was very professional......called to let me know of his arrival...the morning of the same day we called him..explained what he would do after he inspected the damage.....used shingles we had from time of last roofing (year 2000) to repair, put metal piece down over hole and under shingle to enhance repair and provide strength when I was concerned about bugs or animals getting in ...showed him insurance claim and he gave us advice on getting whole roof repaired in future ( will need to redo in a few more years) and we are hoping to use his company to do it.....very personable, answered ALL questions....cleaned up and stayed with job until finished....saved us a lot of money.....it has rained heavily since he made the repair and no leaks! - Wow!!

I got a leak spot on the ceiling, and needed to find out what's going on. Contacted "Award Roofing", got my call returned very shortly, and the person offered to take a look at the roof in about an hour to survey and to give an estimate. Short time later, just as promised, the person called back with the estimate and a suggestion to do some minor repairs, like improving vent sealing and calking in a few places. I agreed and he did all as promised. Roof had no leak since then. I also got very reasonable shingle replacement quote good for a year, and I plan to do the roof with Award Roofing when time comes. Everything done was very efficiently, while I was at work. Great job, great price, great communication, highly recommend to anyone.

Our experience with Award Roofing was excellent. We started the process in December with contacting them for an estimate. Doug quickly responded, came by and had an estimate to us in 2 days. We also had other companies come by for estimates. All the estimates were right around the same amount. We just really liked Doug and felt there was something genuine about him. We had some delays with getting the insurance check. We finally got the check and were ready to proceed but then I went into labor 3 weeks early. Doug called to check to see if we were still interested and we told him about the baby. He said to just call him when we were ready. A month later we felt settled enough to start the project. We called Doug and he came by that afternoon to go over the final details. The job was delayed a day due to weather but they were there at 0730 the next day to start. They finished in one day. There was one area under our dormers where it looked like the roof was sinking in. Doug had his guy fix it while I watched to make sure I was satisfied. The dumpster stayed overnight and was picked up the next morning. Doug came back by with this magnetic thing and made sure there were no nails left behind. He also hooked up the attic fan. He came back 2 days later to go over the final paperwork. He also gave me the option of paying the full amount now or paying what the insurance company had given me and then the rest when I receive the second check. Doug is a great guy to work with. He is very honest, easy going and professional. I love our new roof and would recommend him to anyone.

Called and was there the same day. repaired leak and went over roof to look for any other potential problems. Indicated the roof would be good for another 5 to 7 years before needed to be replaces. Will definitely call Award again for repairs or roof replacement

Mr. Horsley and installation team arrived on time and worked hard until the roofing work was done, and clean-up was more than adequate. Gutters/gutter covers/downspouts were installed; some overhanging tree branches that were in the way trimmed back; and some damaged deck railing was repaired. The end result was a beautiful new roof, thanks to the professional and trustworthy work done by the Award Roofing Company. I would recommend this company for any roofing and associated needs or projects, large or small.

They did an excellent job for me. They came in and did their job. They were efficient. They did a good job of cleaning up. They were here when they said they were going to be here and they finished quickly. And, the roof doesn't leak.

My 86 year old mother had a small leak in her roof. The original installer of that roof is out of business. So I called my roofer, Doug Horsley of Award Roofing Company. He came over the same day. He caulked it and did some minor adjustments. I was thrilled he came over so quickly and worked on it --- I thought he was just going to give me an estimate and go home. He said he was happy to give it a try. If it doesn't work, he said call him, and he will go to plan B. For $80, I am extremely delighted.

Everything was cleaned up. There were no nails left anywhere. I like his professionalism. He is a small company. It was the owner of the company who came and did the work. I was just pleased with everything.

Very well! When it is time to replace the roof, Award Roofing will be the only company that I will call!
