ACCUSPECT HOME INSPECTIONS INC

Gary arrived early during both the framing inspection (earlier this year) and for the final inspection (last week). He inspected roughly 6000 square feet (4000 sq. ft. on first and second level + 2000 sq. ft. basement). He is extremely thorough and takes the time to explain things in an easy to understand manner. For the final inspection he took about 4.5 hours. In the past I have had inspectors who didn't bother to get on the roof or walk through the entire attic; not the case for Gary who spent a considerable time inspecting the attic and the roof. He has strong knowledge of building codes, takes the time to explain features in the house, and is very personable. For both of my inspections, he produced comprehensive inspection reports the same day as service. I rarely write reviews, but Gary did a tremendous job and I highly recommend him.

Gary was punctual, knowledgeable, thorough and professional, explaining to us everything he noted as he performed the house inspection and patiently answering all our questions completely. We are fairly knowledgeable about home issues and repairs ourselves, and have bought and sold 11 homes over the years, but have never encountered an inspector of his caliber. After spending 5 hours in the July Georgia heat, he then delivered the written report with photos by that evening, as promised. Everything about this company's service, including the very fair price, was outstanding.

Gary did an excellent job. He arrived promptly on a Saturday morning and even beat the real estate agent there. He began with the outside and then went up on the roof of the home. He was extremely thorough and spent 5-6 hours going through the house. As he inspected, he explained what he was looking for and the extent of any issues he found. I received a full detailed report the next day. I would definitely recommend Gary.

Went very well. Scheduling was easy- even over the weekend. We are purchasing a short sale that went from approval to closing in a very short period of time. We were able to get in touch with the office on a Saturday via e-mail and recieved a phone call within the hour. They scheduled us for a Monday morning. They were very easy to communicate with via e-mail for some back-and-forth in trying to figure out how we would gain access to the home (since the sellers still occupied it). They were very patient and easy to deal with. Gary was very knowledgeable, friendly and personable. He didn't mind my partner and I following him around during the inspection, and he took extra time to show us things that needed work, or just to point out general items and concepts we should be aware of as homeowners (we told him it was our first home purchase). I would definitely use this company again in the future!

Gary's inspection was very detailed and thorough. He was friendly and shared useful info so we can negotiate the needed repairs with the current homeowner. My husband who was with him during inspection mentioned that one can tell Gary takes pride in his work. He is also up-to-date with professional certifications in his field. We are very pleased with his services and do highly recommend him.

Gary was there on time, fully prepared and took the time he needed to do a complete inspection. I had the full report back just a few hours later.

From my initial contact with AccuSpect for scheduling, to the actual inspection, to the timely follow up reports, their work is AMAZING! Gary (AccuSpect Inspector) also discovered an item of concern that was not found by the original home owner's inspector. If AccuSpect is in your service area, don't contract with anyone BUT Gary. He is a true professional and will give you the peace of mind to know that you have the most thorough, unbiased, honest home inspection / radon test report in the business!

Gary was on time, very professional, careful and, most importantly, thorough. This was a fairly large home and it took over 5 hours, but Gary's energy and attention to detail never waned. While he said that manyof his clients will leave him to do his thing alone after a couple of hours, I enjoyed staying with him through the entire process as I learned a great deal about the issues with and workings of what will be our new home.

After reading the Angie's list reviews of home inspectors, I had the list narrowed down to 2. I called each and both were responsive and polite. It was the price that made a huge difference! Gary was $650 and the other was right at $1,100 for a house of this size. Gary has won every award on Angie's List on top of that, so I went with him. His wife runs the office and is very responsive to any question and very polite. Our appointment was for 8:30 on a Sat morning, and just like all the other reviewers said, he was already there inspecting the outside. Gary was very polite and professional, and allowed me to follow him around for 8 (yes 8) hours bombarding him with questions. He found a few major problems, some not so major ones, and pointed out things I should keep an eye on. This really impressed me; he saw that I was daunted by the size of this house (coming from 700sq/ft Brownstone in Boston) and helped me understand what was normal, what was done perfect, and why some things went wrong, and occasionally how dumb people can be. For example, the house has a very steep roof line and all the braces in the attic looked random to me, but he explained that they were all braced in the proper places and this was totally OK. I saw what looked like the roof beams were all broken towards the end of the roof line, this was done purposefully to create a final curve to the end of the roof line and was actually a good thing. He found a leak in the roof, and to me, that means the entire roof is in trouble. Apparently when roofers work on a steep roof, they use a shim under the shingles to rest their knees on (how it should be done). But this roofer just took a 2x4 and nailed it through the already placed shingles into the underlying board! Hence the tiny holes. Gary then went up on the roof and found and photographed the same holes! This is simply one of many examples I could give. He was not only a very skilled inspector, he also had a sense of humor, which was nice. I guess you have to if you are around me for 8 hours! He had the full report to me in about 6 hours! He deserves my highest recommendation. Oh, I almost forgot. He had to drive an hour and a half on Sat morning to get there and never mentioned it or charged me for travel.

On advice from this site, Gary from AccuSpect did my first home inspection about a month ago, on my first home purchase ever. He spent over 4 hours there and found many structural and water problems to the point where we terminated our home purchase during the due diligence period. Now, a month later, I just had him inspect a second home, which was new construction. He found some minor electrical issues (wrong circuit breaker on one circuit, kitchen GFCI outlets not properly wired, etc). In addition, he found an obscure amendment to the Georgia code that increased the minimum electrical water heater size. As a result, the builder had to replace the water heater with a bigger model in order to comply with code. I'm pretty sure a less thorough or inexperienced home inspector would have missed that. I have been through home inspections with friends and family on the purchase of their homes. None of the inspectors have been as thorough as AccuSpect. If I ever purchase another property, I will definitely get him to inspect it.

Our appointment for an inspection was at 8:30 a.m. When I reached the property, Gary was already there performing his initial inspection of the home. Gary performed a thourough inspection of the entire home, from the driveway all the way to the roof and everything in between. Was thouroughly pleased with the inspection and the detailed information Gary was able to give me. Im a weekend warrior and I love to take on projects in the home and learn the proper do's and dont's, and Gary had no problem with me trailing him around the house and asking questions about things he pointed out that were right and wrong with the home, and how they can be addressed. Gary did a great job of pointing issues that were safety concerns, code violations, and things that would effect the energy and efficiency of the home.

Gary is great. He is organized and thorough. I found both times that I used his company that he was willing to discuss any concerns I had and explain anything to me. Both houses that he inspected were gone over in a methodical way and his suggestions to me were valuable. He is familiar with local building codes which is a very important part of the inspection process as it helps you determine how your home was constructed and to what standards. Some houses just meet code and others exceed it. I learned more about our purchases from Gary and that was very important to us.

The owner was punctual and very easy to work with it. I appreciated his patience in explaining the issues he saw in my new home and the DETAILED report he sent the evening the inspection. It took him approximately 3-4 hours to finish the inspection. I highly recommend.

This was our second time using AccuSpect for a home inspection and I can't say enough good things about both experiences. From start to finish, everything was handled wonderfully and without one single issue. Gary performs a very thorough inspection and takes the time to explain in plain English what he finds. I have used other inspectors in the past and the difference is amazing. With other providers, it can be difficult to understand if an issue is significant or is simply something a buyer should be made aware of. With Gary, I feel I understand each and every item referenced in the report and have the utmost confidence in his findings. After reading the inspection report (which was delivered the same day as the inspection), my wife and I had a couple questions so we emailed Gary at 9PM to try and schedule a call with him for the following day. Gary called us back within 10 minutes of our email and answered all of questions right then and there. The detail he provided allowed us to clearly explain the requested items to the seller and gave us the confidence that we weren’t missing any important items. In short, Gary is very professional, thorough, has great communication skills, and provides the best inspection report I have ever seen. Will definitely use Gary in the future and will absolutely recommend him to others who are looking for a professional home inspection.

Gary was fantastic! From start to finish, he did an excellent job. He was so helpful in explaining the findings, particularly on the old house we were considering purchasing. He had the report completed and emailed to me within a few hours and was available when I needed him to answer several questions. Gary was very professional and extremely helpful! We are using Gary again this week for another home inspection.

This home inspection was on a short sale that had just been approved by the bank so I needed it done quickly to fit within the due diligence window. I called Gary on Wednesday to request a Friday inspection and he was able to fit me in. I was 15 minutes late meeting him at the house and the sellers did not let us know they had removed the lock box, so Gary patiently waited for me which was very nice. Gary inspected every nook and cranny in the house from the roof to underneath the deck. He answered each and every one of my questions and had the final report to me that same day. I would recommend Accuspect to any looking for a top of the line home inspection from someone who is professional, courteous, and knowledgeable.

From start to finish the entire process was excellent. Gary and Megaera were very professional and got the report the same day of the inspection.

My appointment was promptly set up on the day I called Accuspect's office. Gary did a thorough and detailed inspection and report of the home, complete with digital pictures, and including an executive summary of areas of concern. The report was emailed to me the evening of the day of the inspection. I was present at the inspection. Gary was most helpful in answering my questions at the time of the inspection and promptly responded to additional questions I had after reviewing the report. Gary also placed and retrieved a radon test device with the report sent to me on the morning the device was retrieved. I am very happy with the professionalism and thoroughness of this company and feel that I received very good value for my money. He found potential fire hazards and pointed out other code violations that we have immediately addressed.

We are in the process of building a new home & have learned from experience that it's important to have a home inspection performed by a reputable home inspector. Accuspect offers inspections throughout the building process; however, we didn't identify the company until a few weeks before closing. I wish we could have utilized his services throughout the building process as I'd be interested in what, if anything, would be identified. He was very professional from the first phone call to find out about his services through to the final process in which he provided us with a summary and detailed report the same day the home inspection was performed. His report included clear written details, as well as pictures of the areas of concerns, which made it very easy for us to review and coordinate with our builder to remedy the identified concerns. It was great that he also cited the pertinent building code for each area of concern. Overall, he helped put our mind at ease about the build process to help ensure we are moving into a safe & quality-built home. Thank you!

I am building a new home and just prior to per drywall walk through.. I wanted to get a framing inspection done to ensure that the home is built without any major defects. I joined Angie's list to locate a trustworthy and knowledgeable inspector. After reading the reviews I emailed two home inspectors to get a quote. Megaera from Accuspect replied quickly. After my initial conversation with her...I asked her for a copy of an actual report so that I can see the quality of Gary's work. She emailed me a scrubbed report and I was impressed with what I saw in the email. So we finalize everything. Accuspect took care of completing necessary paperwork with the builder. On the day of the inspection, I met Gary at the house. He was right on time and was surveying the property when I got there. After a brief introduction, Gary went about his inspection and I went to work. About 4 hours or so later,Gary called me to let me know that he is done and I would have the report later that day. I got the report at night and reviewed it the next day. I was impressed with how detailed and thorough everything was. Gary found even minor issues. I wanted Gary to explain me certain things mainly on importance of some of the items in the report and he went through on what issues he considered important to make sure the builder fixed it. Gary had took time to document items that were not technically a code violation but still made sense to discover/discuss/rectify with the builder. I shared the report and the summary document with the builder and we discussed the report at my previous drywall walkthrough. Builder agreed with Gary's findings on all but 1 item. I had subsequent conversations with Gary on that item and Gary explained me the issue and what to do if the builder does not agree to fix it. In the end, I was able to get everything taken care of. Overall I found Gary to be knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, prompt, and thorough. I told him that I will hire him to do final inspection as well which I just got it scheduled with Megaera for August 6th. I am looking forward to getting a detailed and thorough report that will give me peace of mind about my new home. Thanks Gary/Megaera and keep up the good work.

From start to finish Gary and Megaera were professional, polite and very personable. Megaera handled the estimate and scheduling, and she was able to fit me in before my due diligence period at a very reasonable price. I could not meet Gary at the home until I got off from work, but he stayed and went over all of the issues of the home in great detail until all my questions and concerns were answered. Finally, the report was sent to my email within the day; it was very detailed, clear, and concise easily the best home inspection I have ever seen.

I have been very happy and satisfied with their work. They provided really good customer service and I wish other companies could do the same thing. When I told the home inspector that I had found him of Angie’s List he gave me a discount of 20 $ which I would compliment him about. He was really professional and a wonderful gentleman. He walked me through things and he did not mind me just shadowing him and asking him questions. He sent me a complete report by evening and said if I had any other questions I should not hesitate to call him. He even said that he would be more than happy to answer any questions I had. He came over to my place ten to fifteen minutes earlier which was great. He was great and I would highly recommend him. I would use him again in the future.
