Avondale Pest Control

After closing on my home in January 2013, I called Avondale Pest Control (APC) multiple times to arrange for an inspection. He finally came out and did an exterior-only inspection while I was not at home. He said that he couldn't get under the house. He also did not leave any sort of written inspection report. I had to call and e-mail repeatedly throughout the spring of 2014 to ask for the renewal. I finally received a mailed renewal notice, sent in my check for the renewal fee, and despite repeated requests that APC inspect my property, I never received a call or e-mail back to arrange for an inspection. They did cash my check, though. We repeated this process again in 2015 with me repeatedly requesting the renewal of our bond and inspection yet never receiving it even though my check was cashed. I filed a report with the Better Business Bureau and, despite multiple BBB attempts to contact this company, APC did not respond. BBB has closed my case, but at least the complaint is there for the community to see. This company is not trustworthy or responsive. They are only willing to take your money and not provide services. This is not only unprofessional, but illegal.

Easy to reach, came out in a timely manner. Good communication

I had some problems reaching him in the beginning, but then I emailed them, and they got right back with me. Email seems to be the best way to reach them. Was on time, and did a thorough job.

They have been my pest control service for a couple of years. They have really good pricing. They are punctual and professional.

He seemed to perform a reasonable inspection of the crawl space and there was clear evidence in the house of old termite damage in the hardwood floors. He was knowledgeable about pests and recommended a and quot;10-yearand quot; termeticide be applied to the foundation of the house with annual follow-up inspections.We consented to the application and he appeared to have dutifully applied it properly (to the best of our knowledge). Time spun by a little fast and it was 2-years before we recalled that the contract we signed indicated we needed to have an annual inspection. Although there was a cost for the inspection (we would have to pay $125 for the visit) the owner never called us to follow up at either 1 year or 2-years out. We left a message approximately 18-months after the initial application and did not recieve a call back. A month later we were able to get ahold of Mark via cell phone and he said it should not be a problem to come out and perform the annual inspection even though we were 2 years out. He said he would call us back with a day/time after he looked up the address in his files yet we never recieved a call back. Although the 1st inspection seemed great and he was nice we would not work with Mark again. Although it is technically our responsibility to call him annually one would think that he would be delighted to provide a reminder call each year if he gets paid $125 to do the annual inspection. In addition, for him to not return one call and then fail to follow-up on a 2nd call indicates a lack of responsibility we are not comfortable supporting.

I wasn't pleased with Avondale Pest Control and will only use them if they are the last resort. They dropped the ball several times on getting me the termite agreement for closing a sale of the house. I would not recommend these folks.
