Allen's Construction

Description of Work: I called Allen Construction to get an estimate for some work on my bonus room above the garage.

Description of Work: Jeff professed to be a painter and handyman. He was to paint an empty house and do repairs. The problem was that the power in the house was not on. After the electrician that he hired hook up the electrical box, neither of them knew the code for Clayton Country and after 4 visits to the property, the electric still had not been turned on. One visit, Jeff left for lunch and missed the inspector. He painted the downstairs wall, not patching obvious problem areas, neglected to protect the moldings and never finished any of the trim work. The left over paint that we purchased, especially the trim may have been watered down and had to be discarded. Under normal circumstances, Jeff may be a good painter but without electric to use his sprayer, he did a mediocre job. As a handyman, he cut the baseboard moldings at 90 degrees instead of angled. The nails stuck out. He claimed he fixed light fixtures--never done. He hooked up fans--they did not work. He might be a good painter but a handyman, he is not.
