PLEASE BE AWARE -- Worst Company ever!! Very disturbed with this company. The Tech could not speak good English. He gave me a false diagnosis. He said I needed two major parts which was not true, and said the parts was on a 4 month back order, and my family and I would have no heat during the winter months through November 2024 to February 2025. unless I get a new furnace. Unacceptable!! a quote was sent to my warranty company for a new furnace quote. I complained to my warranty company, and I received a second opinion, and I did not need those parts. The second company fix my furnace on the spot, turned my furnace on and the furnace is working like it should. Very bad, shady work and I am not please. I would never recommend this company to anyone!!!!! I give them zero stars!!!

This business has lied to me more times than Biden & Harris put together. Tech rep show up 5 hours & 3 days late, while not being able to speak a word of English. This after being called 12 times. They can't be bothered to let me in of what if any progress they are making. It's now been 5 days & I still don't have any heat. Add another 8 phone calls that went ignored today. It's 21 degrees in the house. They couldn't care less about the elderly (I'm 65) without any heat. What they are doing in business is beyond me. My stupidly doesn't go that low. It's only due to their ineptitude that their stupidly has permitted them to remain in exitance. This company is a total joke. They couldn't care less about the elderly (I'm 65) in a house that's 21 degrees inside. If you don't value your time or money, feel free to waste both with them. Hold any & all funds till after the work is completed, verified & accepted. I have since cancelled payment. Their holiday greeting is F/U! They are a total joke.

After explaining to the operator the failure in my A/C unit, the technician arrived about 5 hrs. late. My wife explained the problem, and then put the tech on her phone and I explained the problem; A/C unit working in short cycles, cooling but not to the set temp on thermostat. The technician set to work, and after a while he was not able to find anything wrong with my unit. He kept on looking for a problem. After a while I am on my way home when my wife calls me to inform me that our condo is full of smoke; the technician blew something up and burnt it. I walked into my condo a while later and the smoke and electrical burning smell permeated the whole floor and my unit. I inquired and the tech explained to me that he was checking the wires on the fan motor, and he switched wires "from low speed to high" and it blew the motor and fried it. I asked the man to replace the motor, he called his boss and said "I accused him of burning the motor" I replied you told me you burnt it. Motors do not burn from switching wires from low to high, they burn when you invert the polarity. He changed the motor, he charged me $550.00 for the job, and instead of not paying him, I thought I would be able to call the company and fix the problem and get reimbursed. They did not, a manager was supposed to return my many calls and never happened. They do not even answer the phone because they know my number. I contacted BBB and put a claim, Air Design ignored it. I am suing them, and I would say, if you want an accident at your place, and pay for it, call those people of Air Design, they are bad. I read the many many negative reviews and wonder, how are they still in business??? I read them too late.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. The team Air Design team is disjointed, non-responsiveness, and has poor customer service. I was assigned Air Design by my home warranty company. I have so many complaints that I reported to Contractor Relations. 1) They made an appointment to make repairs. On the day of appointment, they did not call and did not show. 2) They didn’t answer phone calls or emails requesting an explanation to me or the warranty company for a week. 3) They finally came to repair my line set a week later. I agreed to pay a certain amount for “access” to the leaking line. The technician cut holes in two different walls for “access”, and fixed the line. 3) As the technician packed up his equipment, he stated that my warranty company called stating that I had to pay additional money for refrigerant. I knew that was not true. Neither Air Design nor American Home Shield prepared me for an additional refrigerant expense. When I refused the cost, the technician left my home and LEFT THE HOLES IN MY WALL. Because of their history with non-responsiveness and dishonesty, I decided to pay an outside contractor to finish Air Designs’ job AND to repair my walls. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I went through my home warranty because my AC was dripping and had condensation on it. Air Design was the contracted group and they partially cleared a clogged duct- I still had slight condensation so asked them to come back and check; after they evaluated my AC and condenser on the roof, my AC stopped working altogether. They said I needed a new evaporator coil which did not make sense and this was going to cost me $250 out of pocket despite my warranty. I asked 10+ times for the manager to speak with my boyfriend because their diagnosis did not make sense. Maurice (the manager) NEVER called back and kept lying and saying he would. This was suspicious as I couldn't even get through to speak with a customer rep, so I looked at reviews and saw what a fraudulent group this was. I demanded a 2nd opinion from my warranty insurance- Another group came which had better reviewed- there evaluation was that someone tampered with the unit and drained all the freon!!! AIR DESIGN IS COMMITTING INSURANCE FRAUD- they were going to charge me for a new coil, when per the 2nd opinion company, mine was brand new and in perfect condition. Then they were going remove my perfect one and replace it with a lower quality and potentially sell mine. DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY A TIME OF DAY- READ THE REVIEWS AND DO NOT LET THEM TAMPER WITH YOUR AC!

This company needs it's own rating scale, as F is not bad enough. They were selected by our Home Warranty provider (2-10), and when they showed up (Wednesday), the technician opened the unit and in five minutes 'diagnosed' all the freon had leaked and therefore the condensing unit was irreparable. They confirmed they had filed the paperwork that day (home warranty company says they provided an incomplete report) and wouldn't respond to our or the home warranty company's calls to finalize on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Monday. Note, our A/C is disconnected at this point and its over 90 degrees here. When you finally get someone on the phone, they 'put you on hold' to look through their files and then hang up the call on you. Today, they lied to my husband (while our home warranty rep was talking to them - allegedly for the 4th day in a row - and I was on the line) saying they'd never been contacted by them. Even our home warranty contact got 'an attitude' (her words, not mine). They STILL have not compelted the paperwork. All I want is for them to finalize the report so we can move forward into a plan to get air conditioning back up - this is a joke of a company that lacks any level of professionalism, ethics, or courtesy. Do yourself a favor and check the BBB reviews, and you'll see that some people waited FOR A MONTH, or had their units prompt;ly break down again after the service... and they wouldn't return the customer's calls.

In February of 2018, I paid Air Design to replace the electrical panel for my AC/Furnace blower. This was paid out of pocket, by me. In May, on a Saturday morning, I was awoken by a buzzing, popping sound from the AC closet. I went to turn off my AC unit and the thermostat sparked when I turned it off. I reported this to my home warranty company who assigned Air Design to fix it. I figured that was good. They'd already worked on the system. Their technician showed up. I described the problem. He disassembled my AC unit. He looked at the thermostat and told me that in order to fully fix it, he would need to get a new thermostat. My building uses high voltage thermostats, so this was not a "run to home depot" type of fix. He told me he'd be back the next day, shook my hand, then left. I never got a call the next day and no one returned. I have called them each day since and left voice mail with my contact info. I have also emailed them. They have not replied at all. I've complained to the home warranty company who promised to contact me once they were able to speak to someone at Air Design to figure out what was going on. I haven't heard back from them either. I would bet it's as impossible for them to reach someone at Air Design as it has been for me to do so. I have now been without AC for 8 days. I have a disassembled AC unit and no indication that they ever plan to return to fix it. On Monday, I'll have to contact another HVAC shop and pay for this out of pocket. The photos represent both the work that Air Design did for me in February of 2018 and the state they left my AC unit when they abandoned me in May of 2018.

This is an ongoing awful experience. AD was sent by my home warranty company to fix my A/C a month ago. Two repairman came out and told me there was a leak, that they had repaired it but someone else would come to refill the refrigerant. A different repairman came back the next day, filled the refrigerant and it seemed the unit was working. Three weeks later the A/C was out again. The same two technicians that "fixed" the leak returned and said there was a problem with my coils but someone would have to come back and fix it. They said my home warranty would cover it but they had to order the parts. Then I heard from my home warranty that we would have to pay over $500 out of pocket. I requested a second opinion and we ended up having another company do the work for no charge.

It's an air conditioning company that my warranty place sent me. They were awful. I would not recommend them. They were horrible. They brought out the wrong equipment. So we had to suffer for another week without air. You couldn't get in touch with them. You call their number and you're going to wait forever. They put you on hold forever. They're not good. Their customer service is terrible. It was already hot and then they brought out the wrong part or piece or whatever. It worked for about two days and then we found out that they didn't even do it right. So we had to call somebody else to even fix their mistake, which my warranty company did. They were terrible. And then they had the nerve to call me back and say I owe them some $300 and I hung up on them. I said, "Sue me, do what you've got to do because I'm paying nothing. If anything, you owe me." I didn't hear from them after that. The girls are not professional, whoever they've got answering the phone.

They replaced some parts of the unit. The air was not cold, and the unit was making noise. They initially came out and fixed it, but had to come back out because there was an issue. They are not very easy to get a hold of. They did fix the issue eventually. I am in a contract with my Home Plan.

My husband was traveling out of the country and I contacted them and made it clear to contact me as my husband would be difficult to reach. After repeated calls, I finally received a call back and they sent a technician out. I was informed that the system was low on refrigerant and they need to add some to the system. They added 2lbs, checked that the system came on and left. Little time was spent in any attempt to try and diagnose the source of the leak. Flash forward to March 2016 and we turn our system on one night to make the kids bedrooms more comfortable without opening the windows. The system runs through the night, but by morning has stopped operating. My husband checked to find the condenser frozen over. I've already cancelled my home warranty and had a more reputable company come out. They were alarmed to find that the line pressures on the system were indicative of a different type of refrigerant than what my system takes. Upon diagnosing, they find that indeed the wrong coolant had been added and my unit had been operating with mixed refrigerant for months! Even with replacing all of the refrigerant in the system, it's hard to say how much damage has been done or to what extent this company has shortened the life of my AC unit letting it operate for months with mixed refrigerant.

They didn't notice the heat exchanger had been broken three times. When we tried to tell them it was broken they said they couldn't see it because it had been cleaned. Too many excuses. I was not happy with them. They don't really know what they are doing. The tech that came out didn't speak english. When he came out the third time and I demanded the heat exchanger be fixed, he had to call his boss, who didn't answer, nor return my calls. When they finally called me back they told us the piece wouldnt be in for three weeks. We fired them at that point.

Ready for my list of ethical, customary practices and rules violated? The tech took a part from my furnace and never came back. No call, no paperwork, no nothing. (I know, my bad.). First American had to give me number and tell me that replacement was necessary. No written quote, no review of scope of work. Air Design expected me to give verbal go-ahead over the phone for $1500 in uncovered charges. First Am quoted me a reimbursement of $348 for the furnace and $110 for installation, because AD listed the bulk of the work as "modification" to gas, electric, water, and ductwork not covered by FA. And despite AD's poor performance so far, I was obliged to use them for this major installation. I had my furnace installed by a reputable contractor. They said it was a routine installation, no prob with gas, electric, etc. This isn't over with FA and AD. Bottom line....stay away from home service contracts...put the money in savings for home maintenance purposes.
Description of Work: My furnace quit, and First American Home Protection Corp sent this contractor to my home. In dealing with both of these companies, I am convinced that home service contracts are nothing but a racket with a lot of crooked contractors.

The repairman that came spoke very little english and asked for the manual to the thermostat as he thought that might be causing the problem with the AC not working. He then changed out the thermostat which didn't fix the issue, and then found the control board wasn't working properly. He said he would put the old thermostat back on but left without re-installing it! They told the warranty company that the old thermostat was installed incorrectly which caused the control board to not work, and they called me asking for nearly $600 to fix the issue. I called and asked them to come put the original thermostat back, as we did not authorize them to change it. The representative first told me they wanted $75 to come out again. Then they said they would come out and purposefully connect it back improperly and will cause more damage. How do they know exactly how it was connected before? How am I to know that it was not installed correctly the first time and the control board was dead in the first place? The repairman didn't know, which is why he changed out the thermostat. The previous thermostat was working fine before. If it was connected improperly, then I don't believe it would have been working. This company is very unprofessional and I would never do business with them again. So now not only do I need to have the control board replaced, but their really poor quality thermostat removed.

Horrible! They wanted to replace two perfectly good compressors. All we needed was a new filter.
Description of Work: My home warranty company sent them out, as our systems did not seem to be pushing enough air. They were supposed to arrive between 2 p - 4 p. They showed up at 11:00 am. The technician was unable to communicate with us, so his teen-age son was translating. He said both air compressors were bad and needed to be replaced, but the filters looked good. He said his supervisor would contact me in a day or so to schedule repair, as the parts had to be ordered. I did not hear from the company for two days, so I called to check on the status. I was told a supervisor would call me right back. After an hour, I called again. Miraculously, they were on the phone with our warranty company. I then found out it would cost me an additional $250 for them to clean the dirty coils. This was never mentioned by the teen-ager (or technician). After complaining about the delay to our warranty company, they sent a new company for a second opinion. The new company said our system was working properly and the only issue was one filter was dirty!

A/C repair company sent by AHS Home Warranty. Took four days to fix a/c unit and it broke again almost as soon as they left. The second time it took three days to return. They did not report in the agreed time slots and were one and a half hours late when they did show up. I was forced to buy a $270.00 portable a/c for my bedroom.
