We are a owner operated business and have been in the same location for over 50 years. We deal strictly with home furnishings. You may choose from our selection of fabrics or bring your own. We encourage you to bring in samples of your fabrics before you buy to ensure you the fabric will make up correctly on your furniture and will be durable. We also suggest before you choose any upholsterer that you visit their workroom before you commit.

On 06/18/2013 around 11:15 a.m. I visited the business of Upholstery by Wayne Meyer. The seat cushion to my large sectional sofa was coming unstitched along the seam and just needed reseweing. Upon entering the business I stood up front while the door chime was sounding to alert the proprietor of a patron. Shortly thereafter I was given a very unenthusiastic greeting (which I just brushed off to everyone has a bad day or I really interrupted him with a project in the back of the business). After a quick review of the cushion and simple restitching work I needed he told me the total would be $20.00 and would be ready "tomorrow" 06/19/2013. After accepting the cushion from me I asked do I get a claim check, or invoice showing what I would be picking up. To which he responded No you won't need one. I left the business thinking everyone should get an invoice or claim check or how else can they prove they left an item at the establishment with the agreed upon time and price. I returned to the establishment the next day 06/19/2013 around 1:15 p.m. only to find one of those cardboard signs with the clock hanging in the window stating something to the extent closed be back at the appointed time. Unfortunately other than informing patrons the building was closed the sign was virtually useless because the card board hands were broken off the clock. I found all this to be odd as I saw lights on inside and what I thought to be the proprietor's truck parked on the side of the building. Thinking something could be wrong I tried the door which was unlocked, once again the chime sounded I quickly shut the door and stepped back inside my truck, wondering what to do. Fortunately the gentleman came to the door and I went back up to the bldg. He stated he was in the back having lunch and the cushion was not yet ready as it needed to be restuffed but due to a shoulder injury he couldn't do it as his help didn't come in today. I asked when should I come back and he said any time as i am almost always here until around at least 7:00 every night. The next opportunity I had to pick up the cushion was after work around 5:45 on Friday 06/21/2013 . When I got to the bldg. the lights were off and his truck was gone (so much for the comment about being there until around 7:00 each night), and there were never any hours of operation posted on the door or windows of his building. This was quite perturbing to me because I felt had he given me a claim check it would have his businesses phone number, hours of operation, etc. printed on such. I needed this couch cushion so I could move it out of my sisters house to a consignment shop before her carpet cleaners arrived. Fortunately he was open the next day Saturday 06/22/2013, the cushion was ready looked great and this time his greeting was more cordial. I think if this establishment posted the hours of operation, wrote claim checks with owners names, descriptions of items being dropped off, agreed upon times for pickup, and the price. along with replacing a broken cardboard "will return by sign" and insure each patron was always given a cordial greeting I could have easily given him an (A) rating.
Description of Work: Restitched the seam of a large couch cushion that was coming unsewn.
