Description of Work: Inspected chimney in a prefab fireplace. Found 25-year old chimney to be detached in two placed. Replaced the entire Heatilator chimney system and the rainpan. Called June 4 for inspection and they could not get to it until Jun 10. After inspection, parts were ordered and they could not schedule installation until June 23. In the summer, when demand for chimney service is down, I would have expected a quicker response and repair time than 19 days. However, they were very professional in the inspection and installaion. Covered all floor areas before starting work. Worked quickly and cleaned up thoroughly after completion. It took about 3 hours to replace the chimney system. Of the total cost, $600 was labor and the remainder was for parts. Inspection and repair estimate were free. Called another chimney service in the Columbus area and they would charge $350 for inspection and estimate.

+ 0 moreVery well so far...a little pricey but we've had the house since 1988 and the fireplace works-but it fills the house with smoke. So far, I'm impressed with Top Hat. The jury's still out on the final product which will be a working, functioning fireplace.
Description of Work: Analyzed the problems with my fireplace and chimney, cleaned the ash chute, made multiple recommendations.

Description of Work: A key to any contractor's performance is being prompt. They were. They did what they said they would do for the price they quoted. They were courteous. They found a problem with the installation of the chimney cap and repaired it. They cleaned up and left the inside of the fireplace better than they found it. I will use them again. As to price, I don't recall and don't have time to look up the record.

+ -1 moreFirst call to the office was placed on 2 DEC 11. Appointment was set for 1200 12 DEC 11. Received call to confirm the service call on 10 DEC 11. The service tech attempted to call on morning of the call but I was not able to take the call. He was calling to ask to arrive early, which he did appox 1045. He did a through inspection and was very professional. He answered all of my questions and left without a trace. No clean up was required.
Description of Work: Inspect chimney.
