Lovelace is not good for several reasons. I had a leaking faucet on my bathroom and I repaired it myself. They came and did the same thing I did but it was leaking worse after they got done with it. Instead of not charging me, they charged me anyway. They never fixed the problem.

Lovelace provided us two quotes for the work on 3/14/16. After our insurance company agreed to pay for one of the quotes 0n 3/21/16 we informed Lovelace they could begin work. At that time, they informed us that they were not able to start work until the 4/4/16 due to other jobs they had booked. We understood and agreed 4/4/16 would work for a start date. I took time off work to ensure I was home on 4/4/15 and Lovelace did not show up. On 4/5/16, I called Lovelace to find out what was going on as they made no attempt to keep me informed. I spoke on the phone with Bill who was very unprofessional and hostile towards me. He told me they had other jobs they hadn't finished so they were just "pushing us back a few days." I told him that this was unacceptable as we are standing in raw sewage for a job I was assured would start on 4/4/16. At that point Bill began to yell at me over the phone saying "you need to just wait till we can get there, I don't care what we told you and I don't care what your problem is I ain't comin." and hung up the phone on me. At this point, I am searching for a new plumber to come fix the problem and hoping they can do the work for the amount my insurance has already allocated. I am a retired US Army Noncommissioned Officer and would say to my fellow brothers and sisters in arms to stay away from Lovelace Pluming in Columbus GA. They are not military friendly. To others that are looking please consider anyone else before using Lovelace.
Description of Work: Lovelace was supposed to reroute the drain lines from our kitchen and laundry room around the outside of our home due to the pipes being compromised underneath the foundation of the home.

It has been quite awhile since the job was done, so I don't have a lot of specifics. However, the young men who came to do the project arrived on time, were neat in appearance and very polite. they installed the logs and instructed me in how to light the pilot, etc and cleaned up after the job was complete. I was able to schedule the job without a long wait, and the price was reasonable. They have also done other smaller plumbing jobs in a timely and affordable fashion. I will call them again if needed.

It went well. The plumber did a professional job. The expansion tank is not yet required in Harris County, but he installed it anticipating that it soon would be required. The plumber left the area clean. It took 2.5 hours. Billing was at a rate of $110 per hour.

It did not go well at all. He did, to the best of my knowledge, attach the new valve to the old copper water line. He did not in stall a flexible line as he was hired to do. The complete process took him better than 2 hours. and at end He justed stated He did not know why it would not work. At which point He presented me with a bill for 125.00. I then got another plumber to come out to check it out. He had it fixed in less than 45 minutes and billed me for just 85.00. When I called Lovelace Co. to complain the basic reply was, why I did not call them back and give them the chance to repair something that they had already said that they did not know how to do (logic?).. My wife and I live off a fixed income and really do not have the money to pay someone to NOT do something they are hired to do. I foolishly thought that when I called and complained about having to pay them 125.00 for accomplishing nothing that they would at least offer to refund. the money. But They did not offer so had to pay them 125.00 plus the othe rplumber, who knew what he was doing 85.00

First, I want to apologize for not being able to meet your plumbing needs. For years, we have installed copper water lines to various appliances without any disarray. As the plumbing industry and appliance industry changes preferences from one industry to the other differ. It is my understanding that it was your request for a flexible hose to be installed at your dishwasher and we failed to do so. Failing to satisfy our customer is a great disappointment to me and is not taken lightly. We strive to provide professional quality work and to make sure prior to leaving our client’s home that we have completely satisfied their every plumbing need. As a professional courtesy and to show that we understand we made a mistake. I will mail you a full refund in the amount of $125. Please accept my apology again and I hope that you would give us the opportunity to earn your loyalty in allowing us to service you for your plumbing needs in the future.

I scheduled the appointment for Tuesday April 22, 2014 between the hours of 10am and 1pm. Tabitha called at 8:50am and said the plumber was on his way. I explained to her that I couldn't be there until 10am and she said ok that she would call me before they came. At 1:05pm I called them because no one had called or come to my home. I was told by Tabitha that she had tried to get them there earlier but since I couldn't be there that they went to another call and she didn't have any idea about when they could be there then added "that is the way the cookie crumbles". I called back and asked to speak to a manager and she asked if she could place my on hold because he was on the other line and I said yes. She then came back on the phone and said she was the office manager. I asked her if I could please speak to the owner and she said she was the owner. Being the owner of a local small business myself, I was stunned that I was treated that way and blatantly lied to. I will no longer use them for either my business or my residence.

Ms. (member name removed) I apologize again for any inconvenience you may have experienced on Tuesday, April 22nd. You were scheduled for an appointment between 10-1 on that day. Our first call prior to your appointment was completed early. I called you prior to your scheduled appointment time to see if the plumbers could come out early. You stated your husband was not able to meet us at that time. I advised we would send them somewhere else and I would call you back at a later time when they were on the way. Unfortunately, the call they were dispatched to took longer than expected and it went beyond your scheduled appointment time. When you called a little after 1 pm, I explained you were next on their list, however, I did not know how much longer they would be. Our only guaranteed appointment time is at 8:30 am, which is our 1st appointment of everyday. After that, it depends on how their calls flow throughout the day. We try very hard to accommodate everyone’s personal schedules to aid in the convenience of all your plumbing needs. Unfortunately, things like this do happen from time to time and it is out of our control. Again, I apologize for any and all inconveniences this may have caused you and hope that you would give us the opportunity to serve you in the future for all your plumbing needs.

They were prompt. They however ended up charging me more because they said that they couldn't drain the water heater. I didn't know that until I was paying them. It would have been nice for them to communicate that before they started working on the heater. They gave me a warranty so I hope everything goes well. They gave me a 3 hour time frame in which they would come, so I had to wait a little bit. I might use them again in the future.

They gave me a worst case scenario price of $950, which was $300 less that what Mr Rooter quoted me. They were on time and very professional. Took about 3 hours to complete since the heater is in my crawl space and they had to do some re-routing of some pipes. Still came in $150 under the worst-case estimate and ultimately $450 less than Mr Rooter's quote. We are very pleased and will use them in the future if the need arises.

I have used Lovelace in the past and have always been pleased with their work. I am in the process of renovating a house. I had to have all fixtures in a bathroom replaced and contacted Lovelace to help me through the process. They put me in touch with individuals to help me select appropriate size/style sink/toilet/shower fixtures for the bathroom, then picked up my purchases and scheduled the work. In the meantime, flooring installers found a problem with the laundry room water valves which halted their work. I called Lovelace and they sent someone out within moments to fix the problem and allow the flooring installers to get back to work quickly. When they came to work on the bathroom, they had to cut a section of sheet rock (which I had been told would happen ahead of time). They cut the wall section very carefully so that minimal time and effort will be required to replace the section later. They also recommended someone to do this work; and I appreciate that they had told me ahead of time what this process would be, shared the options, and informed me of the most cost effective possibility. The work was completed without difficulty, and the men who did the work were very professional and courteous. I had asked during the first day of the bathroom work if a leak in the kitchen sink could be repaired and was told that new sink fixtures were needed. This work was completed the next day as soon as the bathroom work was finished, and a leak in another bathroom was repaired as well. After the completion of the work, later the same day, I had a refrigerator delivered, and the delivery men were unable to successfully install the icemaker. These same individuals were supposed to hook up the washing machine in the laundry room. I contacted Lovelace to see if they could hook up the icemaker, and they came back out within a very short time. In the process of hooking up the icemaker, they had to go through the laundry room to access the crawl-space under the house and found that the delivery men had incorrectly hooked up the washer so that water was leaking and had puddled on the laundry room floor. They informed me of the problem, fixed the leak and correctly installed the washer and replaced hoses. All of the work was completed efficiently and successfully. I appreciate that they were able to schedule my work so quickly. I am very pleased with the work and with the super customer service, from the receptionist who is extremely knowledgeable about what needs to be done and helped guide me through the renovation process to the men who did the actual work. I will definitely continue to use Lovelace for any plumbing needs. I have already recommended them to several of my friends and will continue to do so.
Description of Work: Replaced sink, toilet, shower fixtures (requiring work to valves in wall space) in basement bathroom, repaired/completed work done improperly by another company's installers of washing machine, installed icemaker in refrigerator (work unable to be completed by another company's installer of refrigerator), replace sink fixtures, repaired dripping faucet in bathroom.

We had a leak from our water heater. I called Lovelace because I had found them on Angie's List and had used them previously at my parents' home. They were quick and reasonable and so we called them when we needed work at our house. I got a "heads up" call to confirm the time they would be at the house. They arrived on time, made an assessment, gave an estimate, and installed the new water heater. They were courteous and efficient. When the bill arrived, it was actually lower than the estimate - a very pleasant surprise!

Thank you for the feedback. We do strive to be prompt and always charge for what we actually use. When we send a quote, we have to quote the "worse case scenario". This being said, many times it will be a little cheaper than expected, which is always a plus. I will pass this along to the plumbers who were out there servicing you. We always appreciate hearing praises and I know the plumbers will also.

I called Lovelace Plumbing at 5:00 Thursday and we identified that it was not an emergency. They called me back Friday morning and scheduled an appointment for Monday. They called me at 10:35 and asked if they could come now. 90 minutes after that phone call, I was writing a check for the completed job. The job involved cutting through the back of the cabinet and the drywall into the wall and replacing a segment of the 40 year old drain pipe that had obviously failed. He also improved the overall drain plumbing under the sink. They do not do drywall work to repair the wall afterward, but they told me that in advance and offered to refer me to a drywall guy. They did put the back of the cabinet back in place so it looks acceptable until I get the drywall handled. Good work, quick work, good price.

I would give them an A on service and B on pricing.
Description of Work: The service technician had to dig a three foot deep hole under one of my hedges to reach the leak. He tried to minimize the damage to the hedges. He covered up the hole and carried away the hedge clippings. My only concern was the amount of time it took to get a small plastic part. The repair job consisted of 45 minutes of digging, 10 minutes of pipe repair, thirty minutes waiting for glue to properly set and 30+ minutes to get plastic part. I understand waiting to make sure the adhesive is propertly set before turning on the water pressure. I was disappointed at the 30+ minute wait on the part. At $95 per hour, 30+ minutes for a small plastic part is expensive. Should something like that be carried on the truck? Overall they were professional and solved the problem. I would use them again. Hopefully next time they will have the part on the truck.

We apologize that it took thirty minutes for the technicians to retrieve the repair part. Please keep in mind that while our trucks are fully stocked, there will always be items that we do not have readily available. There are thousands of repair parts from tub faucets repair parts to water and sewer service repair parts. Our technicians do their best to have the majority of basic items, but there will always be a chance that something more is needed. We strive to be prepared as best as possible and apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused.

Problem started on a Saturday morning. Toughed it out through the weekend, but called Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. Receptionist was very nice and said she could have someone here between 1-4 p.m., but if they could come earlier she would call. Received a call around 10:45 a.m. asking if it was okay for them to go ahead and come, in which I replied, PLEASE. They were here by 11:00 a.m. Ran a snake through the main drain completely through to the pipes in front yards. Also checked the flow from the city's access. They tested the bathtub, toilets, washing machine, etc. The three men that performed the tasks were all very friendly and knowledgeable. They did not leave until they made sure everything was working perfectly.

The overall service was ok. Their were two gentlemen that came to my house. They were on time. They came in and asked what the problem was and I told them water was coming out from the bottom of my toilet. They searched around the house to see if I had a main drain cleanout line (which apparently I do not). The gentleman that seemed to be in charge went to the toilet and began taking it off. They brought their large snake in and began clearing the drain. The drain works now, though ever since they came out, every time we use the sink we get a nasty sewer smell out of the other drains. The plumbers did fine, but they did not wipe their feet after going through the mud in the yard, which in turn tracked dirt and debris into the house, which I had to clean. He caulked around the toilet when he put it back down, but let caulk get on the tile, which I later had to clean. When the job was done, he called the office to get the price for the work he performed. I thought it was strange that he did not give me any kind of estimate before he began working. Though the pipe was cleared, it took time out of my day to clean up after them, for which I think if I am paying $90 an hour, they should do a better job.

I had seen this company on Angie's list so gave them a call. I was told the initial fee would be $89 which included the call out and the first portion of labor. Since no parts were needed and the guys were there about 30 minutes I though the charge very reasonable. They were punctual and courteous without any theatrics. I'd use them again in a heartbeat.

This was work performed under warranty. They had replaced the flapper valve several days before but the toilet continued to have the same problems. I called and they promptly scheduled a return visit. They arrived on time, covered their shoes, went straight to work, finished promptly and left. I was a little tense because I was still annoyed about a prior visit and having to call them back after that I said I would not. However, at least one of the two guys, the one who actually worked on my toilet and who spoke to me about it, was exceptionally professional and courteous, and I appreciate that.

They did a really good job. They were very prompt, and we could tell that they were very professional. They took care of the problem and didn’t overcharge. Some people try to tell me that there are other issues, try to charge me more, and come back with something else, but these people were really honest. They didn’t create a mess or anything, they were clean. We recommended them to one of our neighbors when they had a problem, and they used them as well.

They have been here 3 times and still have not fixed the problem. My grandson put new stems on and took the old ones. I found out that the plumber put on the old stems. He told me there was nothing wrong with the old stems, and they just needed new washers, and that the system was good and you should not have any problems. And 2 weeks later it was still leaking. I called them back and they said would send someone out. He came out and the leak was stopped, but he broke the rim around the faucet and did not tell me. They came out for the third time and the original problem is not fixed. I feel like they do not want to hold up to their word. Two weeks after I complained, they sent me an invoice, stating that the first guy told me that I needed new stems. This is not the fact, he told me it was fixed.

Visit One: Customer requested that we check the tub/shower valve for leaks. Our technician went to the customer’s home, discussed the issue and the fact that the handles would need to be completed to repair the valve. Customer decided to wait until after the first of the month. Visit Two: Customer called to complain that our technician damaged the escutcheon on their tub/shower valve. I explained to the customer the fact that the repair parts they supplied for our company to install did not match, as far as the brand/style and would not be compatible with the existing tub/shower valve. Visit Three:, Our technician replaced the tub/shower escutcheon (at no charge to the homeowner). The homeowner then decided they wanted us to furnish and install new handles that would work with the existing tub/shower valve. After the technician installed the new handles, the homeowner informed our technician that they would not be paying for the new handles. Our technician then removed the new handles and reinstalled customer’s existing handles. At this point we have exhausted all of our efforts in an attempt to satisfy this customer. I apologize that we are not able to assist this customer further.

This was my favorite plumbing company but something no longer feels right about them. When we recently called them to schedule service, we were initially impressed that they had notes on the type toilets we have in the house and where they are located. They called out the American Standard toilet by name and knew where it was located. We were having problems with it and with a 12+ year old toilet upstairs. Both were making noises as if they were re-filing themselves, and sometimes, there would not be enough water in the tank for a good first flush. Sounds like a leak, doesn't it? Common, problem, right? Well, when they got here, they didn't have the "seal" for the newer toilet, would need to go back to Columbus and return to Harris County on another day. They'd call before they came back, they said. But, that leaves us making arrangements to be home again for a second trip and that's not the worst of it! I called and spoke to the lady who answers their phone and asked what was their standard billing policy whenever they didn't have what they needed on their trunk for a simple, ordinary problem such as ours. She stated they couldn't possibly carry everything they need on their trucks to cover every single possibility there is. She stated that I, the customer, would have to eat the cost of their men driving back to Columbus and returning to my house in Harris County even though it was THEY who failed to put on the truck what they needed for my job. She said that as far as they were concerned, those travel hours were counted as men on my job. And, there were two men, by the way. Mind you, they already KNEW we had an ordinary American Standard toilet, but if there is something special about the toilet, and maybe there is since their guts do look a little peculiar to me (though I'm no plumber), I asked why didn't they ask us for more information when we called to schedule the appointment? She said most people don't know the details of their toilets so they don't bother to ask them questions about it. I said, "But, I still have the booklet that came with it. I could have given you the model number and anything else you you may have needed." My logic didn't change the discussion on her end. She was sorry, though. I feel somebody there has made a decision that we customers are not savvy enough to provide them simple answers to simple questions so that a simple job can be done efficiently and cost-effectively. Apparently, it doesn't matter to them what a job costs since the customer will have to pay for their conclusions, their inefficiencies and their return trips. No customer wants to pay double or triple a cost that could have been prevented by a receptionist being trained to ask a simple question or two as the appointment is being made. A few days have passed and my American Standard toilet still needs a seal; so I called the online customer service department and found there is a 10 year warranty on my toilet. After asking me what problems I noticed with it, guess what she asked me to do? She asked me to look in the tank and give her the number there so that she could send me the specific seal I need for my tank. Ta da!!! She said it should take me 3 minutes to put it on myself but that they will walk me through it if I need them to.
Description of Work: The work they did was to change out one toilet flapper of an older toilet and they put dye in the tank of a newer American Standard toilet so as to diagnose the problem of a leaky seal. The labor for that was 1.25 hours for 2 men. The flapper cost $5.93.
