Long's Lawn Service

Saw this company servicing my neighbor's lawn. So I stopped to ask them how much they'd charge for servicing my property. Mr. Long was very polite initially and walked with me over to my property. He explained his service, cost per service, frequency (no-weekly), and what's included (flower bed trimming and weed control, edging, lawn mower, tree beautification, leaf control, etc.). He collaborated what other contractors have asserted about service to newly installed sod (too early). Almost 2/3 of my sod is new, so I asked him if he could do the front of my property which is mostly mature sod. He said yes, at 40% of the total cost (i.e. 30% of the property for 40% of the cost). I accepted. A few minutes later he came back and said that he was done. When we asked about parts of the service not done, such as edging around new sod, edging at the street, weed control of flower beds, trimming of flower beds, etc. he replied that he was charging only for mowing the mature grass, but that he had edged some anything areas too. In the end, he left with 40% of what he would have charged me to do the entire property, leading me to understand he would do 30% of the service , but only doing about 15% of the service , since he didn't do the flower beds' weed control and trimming, edging, or beautification of the front. In the end I gave him the check for the amount he demanded, but told him that he had led me to expect more and it was up him and his conscience if he completed the service he advertised. He replied that he can't please everyone and left. I felt cheated, like if I had just bought a lemon "as is." We will definitely not pursue business with this company in the future.Chat Conversation End.

They arrived on time, gave an estimate of each area where work was desired, and started immediately. The work they performed was very good. They were efficient and completed the work quickly. I have no complaints, and will call them back for similar help in the future.
