Alpha Garage Doors

Arrived and immediately (without checking any other portion of the unit) declared the problem to be the lights were bad. He installed new ones (or so he said), closed and opened the door once. He sold me the lights for $99; a new remote for $20 and $49 was the labor. The next day, the door opened using the wall unit but would not close using the remote - it was doing the same thing that caused me call for service initially. I called them and he said I bumped the lights and told me to go adjust them. I had not bumped them and no adjustment I tried would make them work. I called him to come back out. He came out the following day and realized the lights were not working. Said he could put my old ones back on or he could replace the board in the motor (again without checking out any other possible problem). When I told him to just put my old light back on, he said he no longer had them. For another charge he wanted to put in the replacement board. I di dn't feel I had much choice so I said okay. It did not work! Now he decides the whole thing need to be changed out. I had completely lost confidence by this time, and said NO. I asked that he remove the lights refund the $99.00. He said they don't refund anything. I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone. I made a mistake in not checking on Angie's List first to see if this outfit was listed and had recommendations. I just was in a hurry and called the first service outfit listed that happened to show my brand of garage door opener as their speciality. It was an expensive and frustrating experience! I've never had any serice company with absolutely no professionalism, consumer service skills, etc. before! I advised the young man that I intended to let both BBB and Angie's List know of this matter. His response was "it won't matter, we don't belong to BBB or Angie's List."
